"Free as a Bird" proposed lede change

Sorry man, really, I was just goofing off, I'm sorry if the sarcasm seemed incivil. In my opinion it's not standard procedure to come to a vote and make demands on the editor with the proposal for your vote. You either oppose or support, and add friendly suggestions, which may or may not be followed. Seemed to me you came and wrote your own lede, and then told me to take it as is, with no discussion, or you will oppose my proposed change. I do appreciate your time and efforts, so thanks, and I apologize again if I hurt your feelings with my comments, they were meant to be funny. The thing is, I have been arguing all week that Lennon's demo should be mentioned in the first clause in the lede, so that's really the whole point of the change. Maybe that wasn't clear. Right on John, I hear you, and often humor is lost in words with no inflection. As per your comment: "Far from demanding, I was saying: If this works without too much opposition, take it - otherwise, ignore it. I think it is the best of the solutions, but only plan to suggest it, explain why I like it and leave it at that." Fair enough, but you changed your vote to oppose when I didn't adopt your suggestion, so that does seem like a demand to me, just my opinion. I think Lennon's demo should be mentioned first if for no other reasons than a) it existed first, and b) 34 years later is now quite notable, and c) the original compostion is officially credited to Lennon. 17 years later, the recording made by Lennon in 1977 became the foundation for the 1995 Beatles single. Imagine describing the building of a house, and mentioning the walls, roof, and windows, and then mentioning the foundation, to me it's proper to be chronological here. Also, some are getting too caught up on judging which clause is more notable, that "FAAB" began as a Lennon demo or that the Lennon demo was later "finished" and released as a single by the Beatles. Notability does not always control the order of information in an article, afterall, one could argue that Buckminster Fuller is most notable for "buckyballs", but his article's lede does not begin with this info. — GabeMc (talk) 22:19, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
