Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, Jweby70, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process - at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Memorial artifact
[edit]- Jweby70 I saw your post at the Teahouse re: USS Arizona. Please don't get discouraged. Too many editors - too many opinions; and most of the time they are not helpful but hindering to the process of expanding content at WP. They like to talk rather than teach. Don't get bogged down by all the "could / should / would" over at the Teahouse. Plain and simple: you have an image of a salvaged item from the USS Arizona; just like all the other contributing editors that have already added similar images on the page. The article created is based on this topic: USS Arizona salvaged artifacts. In the article, it clearly states a donated article from the museum where you work and you wish to upload an image to share on the page. You do not need anyone's permission here. Simply upload it to Wikicommons and add it using the similar templates as the other included within the memorial sections (you may have to create a new one). To say that nothing you could contribute would be of topic to this article is simply ludicrous. Good luck; and if you need help - just ask. Maineartists (talk) 15:51, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
