Your article

[edit]

I'm afraid that you can't release copyright just by saying it on a talk page. We have no way of knowing that you are the owner of the copyright (especially as you used the third person about the person whose name you use here...), unless the procedure outlined in WP:COPYVIO is followed. The page that appears to be the source belongs to the KTH site, so I would imagine that they would have to release the copyright. An easier option is to totally rewrite, making sure that you avoid close paraphrasing and comply with WP:BIO and WP:RS (about the reliable independent sources needed to prove the notability). I would also ask you to read WP:AUTOBIO, as writing about oneself is strongly discouraged here, and even editing on subjects you are close to can cause problems WP:COI. I don't know the policies and procedures at se-wiki, but en-wiki is rather stricter on referencing than some of the other language Wikipedias are (personal experience speaking there - not a reliable independent source...). Referencing at Wikipedia is, as you probably know, rather different from referencing in the academic world. Peridon (talk) 12:13, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Point seems to be moot now since the original poster appears to have rewritten the text. In any case, I would not feel comfortable authoring a page about me anyway. And what pronoun the author of a comment uses would seem to be of less import for a copyright discussion :-). Jussi Karlgren (talk) 15:14, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Linguistic Issues in Language Technology (LILT) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of S/s Helsingfors for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article S/s Helsingfors is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/S/s Helsingfors until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. IM3847 (talk) 07:30, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've bashed the article into shape. FYI, when creating steamship articles, use the format "SS Foo", rather than "S/s Foo". The article will need to be moved, but not until the AfD discussion has been closed. I'll sort out the move when the time comes. Mjroots (talk) 21:41, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
thx, looks quite proper now! Jussi Karlgren (talk) 05:03, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
