Thank you

I just want to thank you for the editor review. I am fairly new to AfD so it is nice to hear that I'm on the right track. When the World Series (American baseball, not sure where you're from) is over I plan on doing some reviews, so I'll be sure to check you out in greater detail. J04n(talk page) 13:46, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

You're quite welcome! I am a fairly new editor in general (started in July), but I'm glad to be able to comment since I've been at AfD pretty much since I started. Hopefully someone with a bit more experience will be able to review you and maybe spot something I wasn't able to. Anyway, enjoy the World Series (I am from the U.S., but I didn't even realize it was going on – I guess it is that time of year). Happy editing! Jujutacular T · C 14:46, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Pict of Sully

Looks pretty good. I'd recommend replacing it in the A&M article. — BQZip01 — talk 05:30, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Picture peer review/Isothermal Chart

I think this could have skipped PPR and gone to FPC. I'll give you the honors of nominating it, becuase I want to after seeing it, but you earned the rights to the nom for actually fixing it. Nezzadar [SPEAK] 00:42, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the kind words :) This is my first nomination, so I really had no idea how it would stand up. I've nominated it at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Isothermal Chart. Jujutacular T · C 05:02, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

The smiley face is a reference to Watchmen which has the themes of "who watches the watchmen" and the "eve of destruction". The magnifying glass did not work so well for me.

These templates are not definitive and so one can have local variations. That's what I'll do if others don't get or like the smiley but, per WP:BOLD, I thought I start with the template and see if it sticks.

Glad you like it. I've copied our discussion to the template talk page for the benefit of other interested editors. Colonel Warden (talk) 10:24, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Request to use Audio File: El_Noi_de_la_Mare_(guitar).ogg

Hi. In accordance with your request attached to this file, I am writing to ask if I may seek permission to use this audio file. I think the music is absolutely beautiful, and I would like to use it to back onto an audio file of a sung version which I would like to make for Wikipedia. I am not sure if I would be allowed to upload this to commons, since I don't think the CC-BY-SA licence permits derivatives, and I know for a fact commons doesn't.

If you are willing to allow this, please leave a message here, since I have your talkpage on my watchlist, or contact me via my own talkpage, the choice is yours!

Many Thanks

Thor Malmjursson (talk) 01:04, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Feel free to use the audio file, and thank you for the kind words . As for uploading it: I believe you are free to upload it to the commons or here. This is from the text of the license I uploaded it under (CC-BY-SA): "In short: you are free to share and make derivative works of the file under the conditions that you appropriately attribute it, and that you distribute it only under a license identical to this one". Iranian

Hi, Iranian peoples, most will either be Iranian language or Iranian peoples. It would just be Iran if it says the 'Iranian' town of blah, or something like that. J04n(talk page) 22:15, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

2010 WikiCup Signups Reconfirmation!

To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! By removing your name, you are not removing yourself from the WikiCup. This is simply a way for the judges to take note of who has not yet reconfirmed their participation. If you have not removed your name from that list by December 30th, 2009 (by 23:59 (UTC)) then your name will be removed from the WikiCup.

It's worth noting the rules have changed, likely after you signed up. The changes made thus far are:

  • Mainspace and/or portal edits will not be awarded points at all.
  • Did you know? articles (which were worth 5 points last year) will now be worth 10 points.
  • Good articles (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Valued pictures will be now awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.
  • Featured lists (which were worth 30 points last year) will now be worth 40 points.
  • Featured portals (which were worth 25 points last year) will now be worth 35 points.
  • Featured articles (which were worth 50 points last year) will now be worth 100 points.
  • Featured topics (which were worth 10 points per article last year) will now be worth 15 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • Good topics (which were worth 5 points per article last year) will now be worth 10 points per any article in the topic that you were a major contributor to.
  • In the news will still be awarded points, however the amount (5 or 10 points) is still being discussed.

If you have any final concerns about the WikiCup's rules and regulations, please ask them now, before the Cup begins to avoid last minute problems. You may come to the WikiCup's talk page, or any of the judge's user talk pages. We're looking forwards to a great 2010 WikiCup! On behalf of the WikiCup judges, iMatthew talk at 03:44, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

FSC Maple Leaf Rag - reply

Hi there,

Thanks for reformatting the page. I think I got a bit (needlessly) confused! I've replied to your comment on the page. Love the picture on your User Page BTW. Major Bloodnok (talk) 20:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

No problem at all! I'm fairly new, but I have done a few FS noms. As for the user page picture, I believe you're talking about this one (I have it cycle through a number of pictures). The author is User:Muhammad Mahdi Karim, who is indeed quite talented. Jujutacular T · C 20:42, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
