User talk:Journalist19
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Journalist19, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

before the question. Again, welcome! ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 17:39, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
help request - about disclosure
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
@AirshipJungleman29: thank you for reaching out. If a disclosure is made as to the close association with the object of the article, can this article proceed? Thank you. Journalist19 (talk) 17:58, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, once you've made a disclosure, there are no additional restrictions on creating a draft. Once the draft is accepted, though, you should not edit it directly, but instead use a process like the Edit Request Wizard to request changes via the article's talk page. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:58, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- I done a bit of cleanup on your draft. You cannot use external links in the body text.
- Going forward, you still have to provide inline citations for essentially every sentence and it's best if these citations are to independent publications about Hilpert. That's how you show notability. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 19:14, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- HI, thank you for your time and advice. I have made more changes; I added more text, more inline citations, many of which are from independent sources and publication. I also added a profile picture. Please let me know if I should go ahead and hit "Submit your draft for you review". Thank you! Journalist19 (talk) 21:35, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, wanted to follow up if you had a chance to review my latest draft. I incorporated your comments. Thank you 69.120.28.38 (talk) 20:58, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- Good morning, what further steps do I need to take to get this article published? I believe I have addressed all comments to the best of my ability. Please advise. Thank you. Journalist19 (talk) 10:51, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. - Hi, I am affiliated with the magazine on a freelance basis. My colleague and I have been working on this article which is about our publisher. There is a conflict as it relates to our affiliation with the magazine but we have disclosed the conflict by making note in the reference section. Please advise if we can proceed. Paid editing
[edit] As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Journalist19, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Journalist19|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 18:34, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, my colleague and I are not paid by the subject. We are independent but do occasional work for the publication which is run by the subject. We do get paid for editing the publication which is run by the subject but we are NOT getting paid for our contribution to this Wiki page. Please advise if we can go ahead and make a chance to the last paragraph. Thank you. Journalist19 (talk) 00:57, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- You will definitely be deemed paid editors and please note that Wikipedia accounts are strictly single person use. Theroadislong (talk) 06:45, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- See WP:PAID for the requirement to declare your paid connection on your User page. Matters not that you are not being paid to create the Wikipedia article. If more than one person involved, each must have an account, and declare paid, or going forward, only one person use this account to edit. Paid editors are allowed to create and submit drafts to Articles for Creation, to be reviewed. David notMD (talk) 07:47, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, refs 1, 2, 3, 12 & 13 confirm that he writes for EQ, but do not confirm he is founder/publisher. David notMD (talk) 07:54, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Roger that. I will make the disclosure that I am a paid editor. Going forward, if completely independent editors make changes to the article, can the "paid disclosure" be removed? As it relates to your last question, which pertains to references (1), (2), (3), (12) and (13), each article identifies Mr. Hilpert as publisher at the bottom of the page. I will also attach a link to the print magazine which identifies Mr. Hilpert as publisher and editor in chief on the masthead. Thank you for you help. Journalist19 (talk) 13:24, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- I just noticed you removed (1), (2) and (3) from the text. Was this by mistake? Journalist19 (talk) 13:33, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- I added an outside quote that Mr. Hilpert graduated from Columbia. it's noted on the background page of the hedge fund where sits on the board. This is an independent source. Journalist19 (talk) 13:38, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have added the submit template, but be advised this would be declined as having zero independent reliable sources as it currently stands. You have still not placed the paid editing disclosure on your user page. Theroadislong (talk) 11:04, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Good morning, I have added the paid editing disclosing to the bottom of the article. Please advise if this is not the correct place. Journalist19 (talk) 12:32, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
