Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Electricity (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paul Anderson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. I have not added any inappriopriate images. Advice unfounded, Film Fan likes to put unjustified warring on my talk page. He thinks to put fear by doing so.--Johnny Freak (talk) 14:07, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have been edit warring over this and other film posters, uploading identical copies of the poster. Somehow you have gotten the impression that it matters who gets credit for the upload. In fact it doesn't matter; what matters is that we upload a high-quality image for each film, in order to build a better encyclopedia. Edit warring over images only generates work for the few administrators who work in this area. It needs to stop, or further blocks for edit warring will be issued. -- Diannaa (talk) 16:36, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Still Walking (film) POSTER.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Still Walking (film) POSTER.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:These Final Hours POSTER.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Posters.

[edit]

Hi. It doesn't matter WHO uploads posters. What matters is the quality. Agreed? Let's not argue over something silly. You might want to use a better image reduction program if you're uploading posters. Thanks. I can message you a good program with good settings if you like. Film Fan 15:51, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter WHO uploads posters. Is it true your thinking? I can not believe you wrote this. Sure you're all right? So far you have always acted acted just to get you the merit of posters uploaded by others. I have never changed your posters, clear or blurred, I let you the work to fix or not your poster because You do not want me to change your poster. Conversely you changed many of my posters by loading wrong versions. Ps: you know well that my poster of 'Room' is the official one. Your is reported in only a single site.--Johnny Freak (talk) 16:22, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My Room poster is official and is on several websites. It just premiered (as many posters do) as an exclusive. And I don't upload blurry pictures because I have the right program and settings. I have uploaded the wrong poster on occasion and conceded that when appropriate. If I upload the same version of a poster, it's because I've downloaded and compared the two posters very closely, or because I've seen straight away that the quality of the poster I'm replacing is not up to scratch. The OVERNIGHT poster is just one clear example of a an okay copy being replaced by a good copy. And it matters to me because I love the film. Like I said, WHO doesn't enter into it. I like seeing high quality uploads by other people. Film Fan 23:34, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't the case of The OVERNIGHT poster, if you compare Your Version with My Version and read the words "Adam Scott" or "Judith", they are clearer in my poster. What program do you use?--Johnny Freak (talk) 10:51, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense. Your picture is simply bigger than mine (and bigger than the fair use policy allows). The writing on it is very small. I use FastStone, but it's important to get the settings right. Film Fan 11:18, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
But if we speak only in my talk, when you know that I replied? You need to hide the flaws of your talk? Honestly I always used FastStone. This means that we use different settings. Yours is clearly photoshopped. You can not photoshop poster. If a poster is clear it must to remain clear, if it has dark heads it must be dark. You can not make a poster dark slightly lighter. The nature of the heads, titles and colors of poster must be original, only reduced in size. Not photoshopped to make them luminous than it actually isn't. That's what makes unnecessarily increase the size of the poster.--Johnny Freak (talk) 11:53, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No. My reduction simply retains more information from the original file. It's sharp, and accurate. It is not altered. I don't even know how that argument can be made here... and the size of the file is irrelevant. It's the size of the image that matters. Film Fan 13:17, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finding a better source for the Anomalisa poster. Remember to add this template when replacing non-free images: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Orfurrev Film Fan 12:01, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What's the problem now? Explain your Victoria poster revert properly or leave it be. There is absolutely no cropping whatsoever on my new copy, and the image retains more information from the original poster, making the text easier to read. You're making it about WHO uploads again, rather than WHAT. Bored of it. I'm a stickler for quality and I don't give a %^&* who uploads what. Claim ownership if that's what you want to do. Reupload the same poster yourself, but don't revert for ridiculous reasons. Cheers Film Fan 14:59, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You know other programs or sites in addition to others that you have mentioned to resize images? Anything else that I still do not know?--Johnny Freak (talk) 17:24, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried many, paid and unpaid, and the one I mentioned in the email is the best at retaining visual information. Slightly larger filesize is irrelevant. We should try to upload the best quality available. Film Fan 17:31, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I knew the files can not be too heavy in filesize because it increases the quality.--Johnny Freak (talk) 17:35, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. Film Fan 22:20, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
