Cuban edit
Dude, please tell me you're kidding. Jeffwang was mistaken and has already admitted as much. I'd prefer not to have to explain, again, why my edit was not vandalism. I sincerely hope this isn't about sticking up for your fellow editor with a bruised ego. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.64.162.57 (talk) 03:44, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi!!
Hey Jobin!! The general practice while communicating on Wikipedia is to reply on one's own talk page. You need to add my page on your watchlist to know whether I've replied. I wasn't sure if you are aware of this fact. So i just thought I'd tell you. Ignore this if you already knew it :) I replied to your question by the way

Block
If you were blocked, it has clearly expired otherwise you would be unable to edit my talkpage. --Cameron Scott (talk) 14:07, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- Extremely sorry, for giving you trouble, but now I am unable to edit your page. It says that I have been blocked and there's a huge message. There is no edit tab on your user talk when I login.
Something wrong here - let me see if I get some help for you. --Cameron Scott (talk) 14:34, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- Could you please copy the message you see when you try to edit and paste it below? You are probably autoblocked by a block meant for another user. Reaper Eternal (talk) 14:45, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
This is the message that appears when I try to edit(sometimes the edit tab is not present and when its present, when I press "save" it shows this:
You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia due to an autoblock affecting your IP address.
This is because someone using this internet address or shared proxy server was blocked. The ability of all users on this IP address to edit pages has been automatically suspended to prevent abuse by the blocked party. Innocent users are sometimes caught in an autoblock. It may be the case that you have done nothing wrong.
A user of this IP address was blocked by Toddst1 for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Unmeshsphalak". The reason given for Unmeshsphalak's block is: "Copyright violations".
This block has been set to expire: 03:12, 14 September 2011.
Note that you have not been blocked from editing directly. Most likely your computer is on a shared network with other people. What does this mean?
As on many websites, Wikipedia administrators occasionally block accounts and IP ranges that are deemed responsible for or related to problematic activity. You may be an innocent victim of collateral damage, whereby a block of some other activity has accidentally caused your account to be unable to edit pages. If your editing access has been blocked by mistake, it will be reactivated very quickly, as soon as you let an administrator know of the problem. The box above gives the information you will need.
What is a block?
A block is a measure used to protect Wikipedia from possible improper use, or modification in breach of editorial policies. Once blocks are over, they become history unless problems recur. Blocks can apply to a user account, an IP, or a range of IPs. A number of automated features identify unblocked usage which apparently should be blocked; these are known as autoblocks and can be quickly rectified if incorrect.
Most common cause of an autoblock
Your IP matches that used by another blocked account, or the software believes your account or IP is connected to another blocked account. Ask for further information and/or request unblocking. Due to the nature of some Internet service providers, automatic blocks may inadvertently affect people other than the person whose account was blocked.
Rectifying an autoblock Unblock request
If you are unjustly affected by this block, please copy-paste the following text to the bottom of your user talk page:
- Jobin RV (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

Accept reason: Autoblock lifted. --jpgordon::==( o ) 17:17, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- Just in case there's confusion, I think that second decline means you are free to edit again. It's a decline because he's not actually unblocking you - the autoblock has been lifted somewhere else so he doesn't need to unblock you because you aren't. Or something like that. I know what I mean, anyway... Please feel free to ask questions if not sure. Peridon (talk) 17:36, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, I just typed "decline" rather than "accept" by mistake. --jpgordon::==( o ) 17:39, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Note
I've closed one of the open requests above. If anyone's posting the instruction for something as info rather that wanting to actually do it, put it in between <nowiki> and</nowiki> (you can use the little red barred circle on the blue bit at the top of an edit window). This shows the command like this example {{helpme}}, but it won't actually do anything. As to the problem, I'm leaving it to someone who knows autoblocks better than I do. (Must get lessons...) I can see no blocks on this account or the specific IP, but the other user is blocked. Peridon (talk) 17:26, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- PS If text appears to be in a box and go on for miles sideways, take out the spaces at the start of the line. The code here does this, and I can't see why the heck it was built in in the first place. It is, so just be careful to avoid it. Peridon (talk) 17:28, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Hello
Hello Jobin, I noticed you had left me a message on my talk page (quite a few days back); sorry for the late reply. I will definitely help you wherever you need any help on Wikipedia. Though I am not very comfortable with those header files you mentioned (my C knowledge is limited to stdio and math.h), I will surely help you with making it look good on Wikipedia. If you have any specific queries, my talk page is open to you always. Have a nice day. Lynch7 17:16, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your support Mike. Please suggest me people who can guide me on these header files.
- Oh well, you could start off by asking around WP:Wikiproject Computing. However, if you need technical help, the best person to ask would still be your instructor :) Lynch7 02:39, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Hey Jobin, really good to see that you are working hard towards editing your topic. And the solution to your problem is when you get the google search of "for wg14/n693" , dont click on the blue link, instead copy the link written in green (www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg14/www/docs/n693.ps) below the main heading and then give this link as the reference to your edits.
If still you are not satisfied with it, please do contact me, so that I can sort your problem as soon as possible. Happy editing..!!!

Give examples of MACRO usage. For tgmath add code examples for using functions. Also describe macros which may not have been mentioned on the page, may be a summary if there are too many of them. abhijit13(talk) 09:17, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

- Usually, you can become a member of groups or WikiProjects just by going to the project page, and adding yourself to the members list. Deleting pages can be done only by administrators. However, you don't need to be a member of any group or WikiProject to do any sort of work. If you want to revert vandalism, there are tools like Igloo, Huggle, Twinkle etc. Be careful though, these tools are very powerful and can cause disruptions. Use them wisely. Adding {{stub}} tags
Hi, please note that {{stub}} tags go at the end of the article, not at the top - see WP:FOOTERS. And then please take care not to add stub tags to articles such as Buldhana which already have a specific stub tag in the correct place. It just wastes time for editors who work on stub-sorting. Thanks. PamD 15:01, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

COEP - citations needed
Hey Jobin, hope you are doing good! I happened to visit the COEP page today and saw a tag stating need of citations. Since you have been a major contributor to that article in the past, I would like to work with you in solving the issue. Please get back to me.
BPositive (talk) 15:32, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes Pratik, I have been working on those citations for sometime now. It is difficult to do that task fast and alone. Hope you understand! And yes, as and when I get time, I try to engage myself to google pages that can be reliable sources for the info. Thanks for your concern! Jobin (talk) 10:29, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for adding images to the COEP article. Keep it up! At the same time, please don't link simple words like 'annual' or 'October'. Introduce important links only. :)
Keep the good work going! Happy Editing! |
- Thanks B for this sweet gesture, but don't you think a barnster would be a better substitute? ;P
Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited College of Engineering, Pune, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages IIT, Punjab and Technical (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:42, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
External links
What are called "named" external links, with text in them like this, should only be in the external links section. Or in the references section. The intent is to keep the person reading the article, and not send them off to another site. In some cases, the use of footnotes is convenient, if the desired link is also a citation for the fact you'd like to attach the link to. For example, "Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit.[1]" But be careful with this, the links shouldn't look gratuitous. If, for example, there is for example a University page with a directory of clubs, it would be better to simply link that page in the external links section Directory of University clubs.
- You're welcome. Yworo (talk) 10:03, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Sources
Hi Jobin, to answer your question that you emailed to me, LinkedIn is generally not considered a reliable source. Reliable sources for a person's educational background might include newspaper articles about them, official biography pages from associated organizations and other sources of information about them generally. I noticed that most of the people on the list of notable alumni do not have articles about them. In general, if a person is not notable enough for their own article, they should not be included in lists like this; this sort of indiscriminate list is doable with a relatively young university, but imagine if we had to list every Oxford University alumnus who had achieved anything in their life. You are, of course, welcome to write articles for alumni who are notable but don't have articles yet; no doubt there are a great many who have been overlooked so far.
Thank you for your work. If you have any more questions or need any help, please feel free to contact me on my talk page or post here. (I prefer to avoid email whenever possible.) Danger High voltage! 10:17, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, Danger! Yes, its true that they have been overlooked so far, but give me time, I'll ensure that their pages are created in a few day(or may be, weeks ;)). Yes, I'll try to contact you on your talk page from now on.Jobin (talk) 10:21, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.
