[edit]hi Jobe6, what's going on, your stress levels are getting out of control? If you need any assistance or help, feel free to ask or any member of Esperanza... cheers. Gryffindor 21:19, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

Images
[edit]Their is no rule as articles like Miles Davis which are featured articles, have images on both sides. JobE6 17:09, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- I never said that all images should be on the right; I said that "such images" (meaning those that accompany their respective articles' lead paragraphs) should be on the right. The lead (introduction) always should be on the far-left, and a left-hand image prevents this. Of course it's okay to place other images on the left. 66 dot 201 dot 174 dot 92 17:41, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
Hey man, I was just curious if you saw that he made a mistake and tried to make up for it. I'll understand if you stay put, but I thought i'd ask you considering that i've made innocent mistakes before on invisible minefields like that and that he's a damn good editor for the most part. If you don't, it's not a big deal, but I just wanted to stick up for him because I know how he feels. Please let me know if I can assist with your stress levels, you're a great guy and we'd hate to lose you. Karmafist 02:37, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- Karmafist is such a nice guy to have as an advocate, isn't he? ;-) Actually, Jobe6, I understand your stance completely and respect your insight as a long time member of the community. Approaching 5000 edits with a significant nmumber of those in disambig and redirect repair makes it very difficult to discern any contribution outside of that area. Paging through User Contributions at 500 edits per page, when most seem to be the same, can be monotanous. Anyhow, I won't take offense to the comment that I haven't made a major contribution to Wikipedia--as I hope I have--someone has to help cleanup the place. :-) I will add that I have created articles in response to lists such as WP:MEA and Most Requested. I've also started the Wikipedia:WikiProject Kentucky State Highways; but have slowed creating any new articles under the project right now as I am watching AfDs, TfDs and CfDs related to highway-related material to see if a include/delete consensus is going to finally come to fruition. If I find a red-link that I may not know a lot about, I will still try to create a well structured stub to get the article started. In the end, this RfA has been very enlightening. I enjoy the constructive criticism and have already started delving into other areas of Wikipedia that I had not tread before. Perhaps you'll vote support next time around. ;-) Have a great week! >: Roby Wayne Talk • Hist • E@ 23:03, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Advisory Committee
[edit]Good evening, Jobe! I just wanted to pop in to thank you for supporting me in the Advisory Committee Election. I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do yet, but I trust that Essjay will be a good leader and let us know. And if he doesn't, I'll impeach him! ;o See ya around! Esperanza Spam
[edit]Hello Esperanzians! A few announcements.
The Advisory Committee election results are in. In tranch A are Acetic Acid and Flcelloguy. In tranch B are Ryan Norton and Bratsche.
My other annoouncement is that our founder, JCarriker, has founded Esperanza's sister project, Wikipediology. I have written two essays here (my name is Matt Binder). My essays are under Teenage Wikipedians and Anon Editors.
On behalf of myself and Jay Carriker and the other wikipediologists, I would appreciate it if you were to join.
Cheers Esperanza! Redwolf24 (talk—How's my driving?) 23:34, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Punk metal
[edit]No prob... there seem to be a lot of non-existent * metal genres on wikipedia... and we certainly don't need another one.... like forest metal Medieval metal, Eclectic metal,Alcoholic metal Celtic Metal,... I cleaned up a few before by redirection... on the AfD every one seems to want to vote for keep as they can't judge whether it exists or not.
O yeah... I listen to death and doom metal mostly...

AHHH!
[edit]I just saw that you quit Esperanza! What's going on? -- Essjay · Talk 23:23, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to hear that; I hope it wasn't anything I did. I admit, I don't always know what's going on, but as far as I know, Esperanza is exactly what it claims to be: A society dedicated to making Wikipedia a better place. I'd like to know what it is that has made you think Esperanza might be "up to something," because if something is going on, I want to put a stop to it. I hope you'll fill me in (do it by email if you like) so I can keep things on track. -- Essjay · Talk 13:20, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Now I'm really concerned, because the only person I know of exercising power in Esperanza is me! I promise you, I won't reveal anything you say in an email, and I'd really like to be able to help you work this out. Feel free to email me, completely confidentially. -- Essjay · Talk 19:22, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, just know I'm available if you need me. -- Essjay · Talk 19:25, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
You know what? I think you are right. Right about Esperanza and about me too. Brandonfarb 00:23, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
I fully accept responsibility for my actions and I expect this account too to be blocked posthaste per the pending ArbCom ban on Rainbowwarrior1977. Brandonfarb 00:47, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Explanation
[edit]Hi, those guys are actually my friends, the first one is a guy named Paul that goes by Dom; the second is also him (his IP is dynamic) and the third one is my friend Ray or BPP; if you don't believe me I can give you their emails. Anyways I did it to shock them, well, not in a bad way but just so when they seen it, they would be like "whoa, what the heck?". Well I suppose thinking back now it probably wasn't a good idea to do, and it wasn't meant to be serious as they now know it was me joking; if you still don't believe me I can give you their emails to contact them. Anyways I don't think I'll be talking to them on WP anymore, I think I'll just stick to instant messaging.
Thanks
[edit]Jobe, thanks for your constructive comments on my RFA. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. See you around! —thames 18:34, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
WMATA photos
[edit]I think before we add more photos to the articles, we need to knock out some formatting issues first. I've done a new version of the infobox and made a few other formatting changes at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Washington Metro), and I put up a discussion about it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Washington Metro. I'd love to hear what you think about it.
Also, I'm starting to regret using Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Washington Metro) as my test page. Typing that mouthful of a name is getting to be a real bother...
SchuminWeb (Talk) 23:51, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well... do you like the design of the infobox at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Washington Metro)? How would you improve it? SchuminWeb (Talk) 02:47, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
- Since this is very much about the infobox, let's take this discussion over to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Washington Metro. SchuminWeb (Talk) 02:54, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

My RfA
[edit]You said that Wikipedian's for encyclopedic merit really bothers you, why? While I did vote "keep" on the massive VfD, I am by no means in favor of censorship. PICs sensors, that users can turn on and off are OK, but just censoring the encyclopedia is bad news. That project is a lot better now anyway.
Also, you said that I callen Boothy a "troll". That is patently false, no such evidence can be found that I said that, and I never have. The example above by another user implies that at first glance, but you need to read more of the RfA to see that that clearly was not the case.Voice of All @|Esperanza|E M 22:39, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

I have a question. I hope you can answer it.
[edit]Are we allowed to change the font of the article? (Jessica Liao 13:13, 23 October 2005 (UTC))

[edit]Take a good look at Kristin Kreukk and tell me what you think of the font. Do you see anything wrong with it? Is there a rule saying that we can't do a different font? (Jessie 15:53, 23 October 2005 (UTC))

Apology on thinking of RFC
[edit]I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in a negative way, I was just wondering what was going on. I have a soft soft for people who have made egregious errors in the past and seek rectify their mistakes, and that fits Purple to the tee, so my dander was up a little there. Things aren't going that great for me either outside of Wikipedia, so I can relate. I doubt I can, but please let me know if I can assist in cheering you up somehow. Boothy
[edit]Differences of opinions, I don't have a problem with Boothy's standards, even if others think they are unfair, because I can't think of one time when his presence was the deciding factor in WP:RFA. The only thing i'd have a problem with is how his votes are almost automatic, without appearing to give any thought to it. There might be one already somewhere, but i'm beginning to think of appealing for a new policy making it mandatory to explain your vote on consensus pages if you want them to be counted, since we're not a Democracy. Karmafist 23:06, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Merovingian
[edit]It's funny, you're right, the two are similiar, albeit in polar opposites, but some may say what he does is a manifestation of Wikilove. Eh, the unwritten rules of Wikipedia can be strange ones sometimes...Karmafist 23:17, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

I sincerely hope you weren't referring to me with that 'rv vandalism' thing, because you removed my grammar edits, which were most certainly not vandalism. I've fixed it (the grammar), if it was just a mistake. 216.43.124.150 20:23, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
