Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopaedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Jammie Jolly
[edit]A tag has been placed on Jammie Jolly requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:42, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- The page Jammie Jolly did not make it clear how or why this person was significant or in the Wikipedia term notable. Generally this means that there must be published independent discussion of the person, such as a news article or a published music review for a singer or composer. Wikipedia is not the place to bring something or someone to the public's attention, nor to promote someone. it is a place to summarize what has already been published elsewhere. See our verifiability policy. See also our guideline for bands and for musicians. You can, as explained above, request that a copy of the deleted article be placed in a user page (such as User:Jnice27/Jammie Jolly for you to work on so that it meets the inclusion criteria. But if there aren't published independent discussions or articles about this person, it won't be likely to go anywhere. Also if this is as it seems to be, and article about yourself, read our autobiography guideline and our conflict of interest guideline. Generally it is better not to create an article about yourself or your own work. DES (talk) 00:21, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Jammie Jolly, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Glenfarclas (talk) 06:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Jammie.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Jammie.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 05:27, 12 January 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 05:27, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Jammie Jolly
[edit]Having looked at your sandbox page, I can tell you that the page is well-written and well-constructed, but you have not established the artist's notability. Look at WP:MUSICBIO: has he "been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable"? The closest you have is what seems to be a review on the website DverCITY.com, but as you can obviously tell that's not remotely sufficient to show that he is notable. The rest of your references are sales links and the like, which as I've explained before have no bearing on notability.
I realize that, presumably, you are either Jammie Jolly himself or his agent or publicist. Please be aware that Wikipedia is not for marketing, and that autobiographies are frowned upon. In the end, though, it's really nothing personal; Jammie is just not a sufficiently notable singer for inclusion in an encyclopedia of global scope. Sorry, but I hope this explanation helps. My page was delted again when it was in my user box can you tell me why?
Your question
[edit]Hi Jnice,
Which page are you talking about that was just deleted, can you provide the specific link? I'm not quite sure what you're talking about, but if you find the deletion log of the page it'll say which administrator deleted it, and you can ask him or her.
Two quick notes: when leaving a comment on someone's talk page, make sure you hit "New Section" up at the top unless you're replying to a post in an already-existing section. Otherwise, it's hard to keep track of which comments belong to which discussion. Also, make sure you remember to sign your posts by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the end. Thanks-- Glenfarclas (talk) 06:34, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

The file File:JammieJ.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
