Edit on Dayak people

[edit]

Pls do not remove edits but correct or improve them to meet your or Wikipedia's requirements. Pls act as a constructive editor to content development in Wikipedia, not as a mere easy editor who simply remove added references. I suggest you add comments or questions about newly added edits and give timeframes for the edits to be corrected before removing them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2402:1980:102:A5F9:2D00:A3C2:2650:398C (talk) 12:51, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kalabuda

[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Kalabuda to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It currently has been listed at Pages Needing Translation, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. GILO   A&E 15:19, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kalabuda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --Miskwito (talk) 15:44, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Many many thanks for the help. Can you please specify that how I can put my signature with those 4 tides and where? Saikat Pandey (talk) 05:48, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are already doing that. That's used for your signature. You can see in the welcome message is written that the two buttons in the tool bar also do that. You should put your signature everywhere you are giving some comments or writing in anyone's talk page. Don't put your signature in an article. Just put 4 tiles like this ~~~~ and your signature will appear there. --Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 05:55, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jnanaranjan,

I have compiled a book of articles and have it stored on my "User" page. I have given the link to that page to people I wanted to view the book. My question to you is, can you help me save a copy of the book for general viewing by anyone interested in the topic or tags? I am new to Wikipedia and am somewhat overwhelmed by all the various instructions to get different things done. All I would like to know is how to save my book for general viewing by anyone. Can you provide instructions. Thank you for your cooperation in advance. Keesluap (talk) 23:49, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Keesluap, I don't find anything in your user page. Can you give the link so that I can check and tell whether it can be placed for everyone's viewing or not ? Thanks & Question

[edit]

Hallo Jnanaranjan sahu!

Thank you very much for welcoming me! Instead I would have a question, maybe you can help me: I wanted to create an articel about one of my favorite dance companys named "editta braun company". But I saw, that there was already an article about the Editta Braun company existing, which has been deleted in 2008. Is it now possible for me to write a new articel? (It wasn't me, who created the article of 2008.) Would my articel be published? Some short information about the dance company and why I find it would be senseful to have an English articel about the topic: The austrian choreographer Editta Braun is creating dance and thatre pieces since more than twenty years. In Austria her influence in the contemporary dance field is that important, that one can say, she is one of the founders of the contemporary dance in Austria. During her 20 years working she focussed on cooporations with dance and theater companies from countries all arround the world to create an exchange within the countries through dance. Her works was always and is still international. That's why the Editta Braun company is not only interesting for Austria (an articel in the German Wikipedia does already exist: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Editta_braun_company) but also for the English Wikipedia.

Thank you very much for helping! Kind regards, Sindy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sindyrela (talkcontribs) 10:26, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You Sindyrela for writing. I've gone through that article in German Wikipedia.German Wikipedia may have their own/different policy. You have already done what you should have by contacting the admin. If You don't get any reply then you can create the article but remember that article should be encyclopedic not promotional. You can even ask in the help page. I suggest to go through this, this, this and This before creating the article. --Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 10:51, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request for help/advice

[edit]

Hello Jnanaranjan. Thanks for your welcome message. I need some help or advice, please, as I seem to have got into a minor edit war over Parliament of the United Kingdom. The user X.equilibrium.x , previously editing as an IP, is insisting that the parliament be described as using legal english. He was reverted a few days ago by 3 users, including me, and the page was protected; now he is making the same changes and will not engage in a civil discussion on my talk page or the article talk page. To be honest I don't know what is best to do in this situation. Thanks, BethNaught (talk) 16:57, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

THANK YOU. Merci!

Hi Jnanaranjan, Thanks a lot for your assistance and links regarding the creation of my "Arlington International Film Festival". I will definitively take a closer look at the citation part and will provide the necessary information. How long do I have to make the changes before my wikipedia page is removed? @Zewikipedian Sorry for the late response. I was busy in my work. Your page is already deleted please create again with good citations. I'm very happy to see You. Your signature

[edit]

Hi, I really recommend you take the advice you've been given about your signature. It is illegible on a lot of displays sue to the shadow effect, and setting a fixed pixel size is against accessibility recommendations because some users need text to be larger to read it. I'm sure you will agree that Wikipedia is for everyone, not just for people with particular devices or a particular quality of eyesight. It is not in the spirit of Wikipedia to deliberately make text difficult to read for a section of the population. Best wishes, MartinPoulter (talk) 23:01, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Director Actor Writer

[edit]

Hey, just wanted to give you a head's up: if you get anything along the lines of Director Actor Writer again, it's User:SEFPRODUCTIONS trying to avoid his block so he can re-add himself to Wikipedia. Long story short, Paul T.T. Easter has been trying (unsuccessfully) to re-add himself onto Wikipedia after an AfD closed as delete. You'll probably want to keep an eye open for them, as he's pretty die-hard in re-adding himself. (sighs) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:58, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Night of Trois Gateaux

[edit]

Hello Jnanaranjan sahu. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Night of Trois Gateaux, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. Thank you. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 07:00, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So the page got deleted later. I am right then Callanecc. --Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 18:00, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, you were right that it needed to be deleted, but not the criteria you nominated it under. So I deleted the page using a different criteria - the patent nonsense criteria is quite strict in what it can be used for, and after a quick bit of research I couldn't find anything which suggested it was real. It could probably have been deleted as vandalism or an attack page. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 05:58, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Balaa

[edit]

You had this wrongly tagged: it was a clear copyvio (of the site given as a reference, so not hard to track down). Similarly the other article by this editor you tagged as vandalism isn't clear vandalism: it's probably a copyvio since it seems to be swiped from an old newspaper article, I would have tagged it as an article to short to identify subject. Only a detail, but since the articles didn't look like obvious vandalism I thought I'd mention. Keep up the good work!TheLongTone (talk) 12:57, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hi Sahu,

thanks for your message - i unfortunately read it after clicking on "Contest This Speedy Deletion" button on the actual page - Im not sure I was supposed to click on it.

But please find here the reasons why this spage shouldnt be delected:

  • This person had has a relevant impact on the growth of Ecobank in Cote d'Ivoire and in Mali.
  • As a winner of several African Awards she is a great role model and has played a role in the development and the integration of the African Continent
  • She is a proud of the African Continent and it is important people (inspired Africans specifically) have the opportunity to read about her life and her career path
  • This has been created as a reply to several individuals who required to have access to her biography

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

Hallo! You once helped me with a question concerning an article I wanted to create. Now, I created it and I do not know, what happens now (it is my first article). You could find it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Editta_braun_company I can't find it in wikipedia. Will the article be published later or did I forget to do something after creating it? Thank you very much for helping! Sindy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sindyrela (talkcontribs) 20:47, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jnanaranjan,

I'm concerned about a number of folklore ideas about nuclear issues which don't make sense. One in particular is about the half-life of Strontium-90 in bone, with some (obviously shoddy) scientists giving wildly variable figures for this. The fact is that, bioaccumulation, or whatever you call it, is a CHEMICAL process, and will accumulate, Sr90 to EXACTLY the same extent as Sr84, Sr86, Sr87 and Sr88. The entire concept of a specific isotope having a chemical half-life is entirely dubious.

Some people seem to labour under the delusion that Strontium 90 is released into an environment that is entirely virginal with regard to other Strontium. From Wikipedia figures, I can calculate that the entire release of Sr90 from Fukushima was about 200gm, and seawater contains, 8mg/litre Strontium, 10kg per swimming pool and 1E13kg for the entire ocean.

As I said, the entire concept is flaky,

Graeme

Thanks

Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon starts in 24 hours

[edit]

Hello,

Thanks a lot for signing up as a participant in the Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon. We want to inform you that this edit-a-thon will start in next 24 hours or so (25 January 0:00 UTC). Here are a few handy tips:

  • ⓵ Before starting you may check the rules of the edit-a-thon once again.
  • ⓶ A resource section has been started, you may check it here.
  • ⓷ Report the articles you are creating and expanding. If a local event page has been created on your Wikipedia you may report it there, or you may report it on the Meta Wiki event page too. This is how you should add an article— go to the "participants" section where you have added you name, and beside that add the articles like this: Example (talk) (Articles: Article1, Article2, Article3, Article4). You don't need to update both on Meta and on your Wikipedia, update at any one place you want.
  • ⓸ If you are posting about this edit-a-thon- on Facebook or Twitter, you may use the hashtag #GIIND2016
  • ⓹ Do you have any question or comment? Do you want us to clarify something? Please ask it here.

Thank you and happy editing. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:33, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

7 more days to create or expand articles

[edit]

Hello, thanks a lot for participating in Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon. We understand that perhaps 7 days (i.e. 25 January to 31 January) were not sufficient to write on a topic like this, and/or you may need some more time to create/improve articles, so let's extend this event for a few more days. The edit-a-thon will continue till 10 February 2016 and that means you have got 7 more days to create or expand articles (or imprpove the articles you have already created or expanded).

Rules

The rules remain unchanged. Please report your created or expanded articles.

Joining now

Editors, who have not joined this edit-a-thon, may also join now.

Reviewing articles

Reviewing of all articles should be done before the end of this month (i.e. February 2016). We'll keep you informed. You may also check the event page for more details.

Prizes/Awards

A special barnstar will be given to all the participants who will create or expand articles during this edit-a-thon. The editors, who will perform exceptionally well, may be given an Indic Geographical Indication product or object. However, please note, nothing other than the barnstar has been finalized or guaranteed. We'll keep you informed.

Rio Olympics Edit-a-thon

[edit]

Dear Friends & Wikipedians, Celebrate the world's biggest sporting festival on Wikipedia. The Rio Olympics Edit-a-thon aims to pay tribute to Indian athletes and sportsperson who represent India at Olympics. Please find more details here. The Athlete who represent their country at Olympics, often fail to attain their due recognition. They bring glory to the nation. Let's write articles on them, as a mark of tribute.

For every 20 articles created collectively, a tree will be planted. Similarly, when an editor completes 20 articles, a book will be awarded to him/her. Check the main page for more details. Thank you. Abhinav619 (sent using MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:54, 16 August 2016 (UTC), subscribe/unsubscribe)[reply]

Recently I logged into my account and noticed some messages and a page of my client Karan Aanand has been deleted. It says it was lacking references but I had put in references for the article. I do not understand what went wrong? Kindly, please guide me as I don't use Wikipedia that often and don't know what I did incorrectly.

Proposed deletion of Karan Aanand[edit source] Hello, Kj1983. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Karan Aanand, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Karan Aanand to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 09:17, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Kj1983 (talk) 08:00, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kj1983, It has been one year since the article has been deleted. Wikipedia has certain policies for writing article on living people. The article must have been deleted as it was not satisfying the conditions. I have a question, what do you mean by your client? Are you a paid contributor?--Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 01:04, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kurt Noll

[edit]

I have assurances from the subject of Kurt Noll, that it is not an autobiography. I am contemplating pointing out that the message doesn't unequivocally state that it is an autobiography but either an autobiography or written by someone connected to the subject. However, I note that the template was added after the first edit and others have edited subsequently so it's not clear to me that the concern is his strong as it was when originally added. I am contemplating removing it but want to check with you first.

I note you also added a request for attention from an expert, identifying the specific problem as "tag modification needed". I don't know what that means. Can you clarify?--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:50, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You Sphilbrick for raising concerns about that article. This case has been around three years old so I am unable to recall exactly why I have added that tags. I can see the version and I think the article is okay. So if you think you can improve that article in any way you can do it.--Jnanaranjan Sahu (ଜ୍ଞାନ) talk 02:07, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ali Shilatifard

[edit]

Hello Jnanaranjan! Thank you for your nice welcome note several years ago when I created the article Ali Shilatifard for a cancer biologist. Recently, the page has come under a barrage of edits that seem aggressive. A COI template box has been placed for no reason. I have tried to resolve it using the Talk page on Ali Shilatifard, however, two editors seem to be blocking its removal with no specific evidence as to why. I was wondering if you could please visti the talk page and perhaps help resolve this issue. The content I have contributed is extremely neutral and sourced. The other editors seem to be making subjective edits without helping to reach a consensus. Can you please help remove this COI block and possibly, if necessary, add a protection to the article. Thank you! Magnolia007 (talk) 21:47, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jnanaranjan, I'm Mallikarjuna from Kannada Wikipedia.

You were the Organizer for Odiya Project Tiger. We've been trying to connect with all Wikipedians in Bangalore, across languages. A meetup like that, will help us to carry forward the momentum of Project Tiger.

Could you kindly, put a notice on Odiya Village Pump & help me get connected to as many Bangalore based Odiya Wikipedia Contributors (either or all of Pedia, Source, Quote, Meta, Commons & Wiktionary). In July 2018, we wish to host a meeting of Bangalore based all language & all projects Wikipedians at CIS Office Bangalore.

Tito Dutta has been very much willing to support this effort. -With Metta, Mallikarjuna. Mallikarjunasj (talk) 05:08, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jeblat, pls do not remove citations and references in Dayak people but correct or improve on them to be a constructive editor. Pls help users to accomplish their edits rather than removing their edits which is easy to do by anyone. Removing them is anti-constructive to content development by readers in Wikipedia. Reinserting them consumes time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2402:1980:102:A5F9:2D00:A3C2:2650:398C (talk) 12:46, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Panchayat High School, Kalabuda has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:52, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That controversy

[edit]

As I spent some time responding without a keyboard and then trying to save it to bo avail, here’s what I wrote.

@Jnanaranjan sahu The number of words is very relevant to NPOV. If the sources don’t discuss the controversy directly then it doesn’t matter if they are reliable and they and the text can be removed. Some sources being used are not reliable, eg government sources for this politically charged debate. And if you look at WP:NPOVN you will see there are problems I haven’t even mentioned which are pretty serious. And of course I took it to a noticeboard and haven’t reverted. If material doesn’t meet our criteria it should be removed. Also note the editor restored material with a citation noted tag, strictly against policy. And removed my text clarifying that Odessa was earlier called Orissa. Doug Weller talk 20:39, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Doug Weller I was going through the article edit history and in first hand it looked like that so I mentioned you and then I realized that there are multiple issues so I removed my comment. I apricate your work and time. Thank you so much for the insights. Writing in my talk page was not necessary but you are welcome 🙂
