If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Keystoneridin (speak) 21:50, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
The article Homewise has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article may meet WP:CSD G11. Nothing notable about the company other than it's existence.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Keystoneridin (speak) 21:50, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Homewise reply for Acroterion
[edit]Acroterion,
Thank you for the further explanation, and I will work on the article to bring it in line with Wikipedia standards. It is my first attempt, so I appreciate the coaching.
As I neglected to save a version outside of Wikipedia, I would appreciate it if you would put the deleted copy into my sandbox as you offered.
thanks,
Jim
- Thanks for the reminder. I've put it in User:JimZBrewer/sandbox. Acroterion (talk) 21:16, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Copyright problems with User:JimZBrewer/sandbox
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, User:JimZBrewer/sandbox, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.homewise.org/abouthomewise.aspx. As a copyright violation, User:JimZBrewer/sandbox appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. User:JimZBrewer/sandbox has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at User talk:JimZBrewer/sandbox and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at User talk:JimZBrewer/sandbox with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on User talk:JimZBrewer/sandbox.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. SwisterTwister talk 02:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Please note that Wikipedia can't accept copy and pasted material especially if it is copyrighted. Content must be written by the user themselves, not copied from the subject's website. SwisterTwister talk 02:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, JimZBrewer. Acroterion should not have given you a copy in your sandbox, because copyright violations can't be kept anywhere in Wikipedia, not even temporarily. I can email you a copy, but, to be honest, you already have it, because it's at the Homewise website. If you want to continue to pursue a Wikipedia article about Homewise, the place to start from is from independent, reliable sources that talk about Homewise (newspapers, some television news programs, trade journals, etc.), not from the organization's home page. If Homewise has not been discussed in detail in multiple, independent sources, then they shouldn't have a WP page, per our requirements that subjects of articles be notable. If you have further questions, feel free to ask. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:52, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Sanjiv Ahuja Portrait.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Sanjiv Ahuja Portrait.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Sanjiv Ahuja
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sanjiv Ahuja, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
