Moved to IP's talk Jim1138 (talk) 11:19, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

It wasn't the notice that most needs tweaking. I think the time and perhaps size parameters that triggered some notice (I am guessing) that you picked up. Those need tuning.

I think too whereas over the life of Wikipedia a lot outside of it has become simpler for the casual user, that (again, a guess) Wikipedia is increasingly imposing to the new editor. I don't consider myself a new editor. (I have an account from 2004.) But only if something is really compelling am I moved to find the minutia to do what I need to do. I think there should be a significant effort to make it simpler for new editors.

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

You have removed obvious facts twice. Read WP:NONENG Shii (tock) 14:13, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Curious - I do not read Chinese; what does
明日への葬列—60年代反権力闘争に斃れた10人の遺志 - 高橋和巳 編集、合同出版 1970年
mean? A Google machine translation produces:
"Full funeral tomorrow Prev column to 1960 Goodwill force Dou fight against death slightly ta ni 10 people Full behest - Takahashi and Pat compilation, published in 1970, the contract"
I am unable to make out anything that references a source. I notice that you added an additional cite to your edit which clears up my concern about a reference - thank you. I couldn't find anything on google by searching for "Chũnoshin Yui" or "Yui Chũnoshin" (in quotes), I did find that googling "Yui Chunoshin" (u instead of ũ) does return 220 hits, some of which seem pertinent. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 17:36, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
It says something like "10 people who passed away in the 1960s antiwar movement." If you can't read a citation, ask the people who placed it instead of erasing it. Shii (tock) 23:15, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
So, your Madalyhn Murry O'Hair edit had no reference, but according to you, was "obvious". The List of political self-immolations had an appearant reference in Chinese, but with no publication cited nor author listed - a useless reference, but then, "obvious" to you? Then you used the "racism card" with this revert. You did add a usable reference when you reverted. Apparently, not too obvious? Given that the non-English 'reference' was not a reference, WP:NONENG does not apply. Your claim that they were "obvious facts" is nonsense. Cite your sources like everyone else does. Stop expecting everybody to clean up after you. Thanks for the fish... Jim1138 (talk) 09:01, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
The first reference was obvious because you could click William's wikilink to learn he is a minister (it's linked right there on the page). The second is a full citation, it contains a name, publisher, date, and title. Don't revert something that you don't know to be false, when you can ask someone to explain their sources instead. Chinese Idol

(Bedco Chan (talk) 15:33, 15 July 2013 (UTC)) Super Girls is another show but it is not related to the idol series. Also, Now there is a new version called Super Boys. Chinese Idol should be the first series of idol in China. If there are any wrong, tell me please !_!

When you edit, it would be very helpful to leave an wp:edit summary so that wp:RCP will know why you did the edit. Removals are often done because someone doesn't like that it is there, not because it shouldn't be. "rm Super Girls - not related to the idol series" would be informative. editing on a page you messaged me about

I have documented proof that what I edited was approved by a court of law. The persons page I was editing continuously lies about a relationship that never happened for the purpose of reckless attachment. Its all a media ploy. Zero factual evidence supporting her claim. So, moving forward, as she adds her lies for the media, I have the right to delete them. Also, there is no difference between her posting fake marriage information that NEVER happened, and the links of bad press describing her personal life character of being a snake and media whore. Slander is not something taking lightly on the internet in 2012, almost 2013 and she is 100% slanderous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.112.64.32 (talkcontribs)

Balija

There are a lot of wrong quotations on the article Balija, which is a major Telugu speaking Hindu caste. Books written by authors belonging to other castes, other religions sometimes would be insulting to Balija caste. So when I removed some quotations, lines on Balija caste page, there was a reason since these references were derogative to my Balija caste / community. For a Hindu more then religion, the Caste to which one belongs is more important since the caste/community tag adds prestige. The Fugitive

I had made a number of constructive edits with proper citations to the page in a single edit. The user TheOldJacobite, deleted all of my additions and reverted the page without a proper explanantion. This user then begins to insert some of my improvements to the article one by one. I'm not engaged in an edit war. I'm entitled to make improvements to an article with properly sourced citations. The user TheOldJacobite insists on reverting the page back to an earlier version that contains few, if any reputable reliable sourcing. He then attempts to add my additions one by one. I haven't done anything wrong. He should be given a warning for edit warring. Moovi (talk) 02:34, 25 December 2012 (UTC

List of LGBT characters in television

The reason why I removed Dean Winchester from the list is because he is not bisexual. After 8 seasons, they would've given us at least a hint of bisexuality coming from the character. I do not believe it is correct to insinuate something like that, and misinform people, even if it is said unconfirmed, only because the bromance between him and an other character is so highly exaggerated by a big part of the fandom. That is all. I really recommend you to remove him from the list again, as it would be the most rational thing to do.

IP addresses are not necessarily permanent and may change. So, someone else made that edit on a different computer and you later got their old IP address as well as the Wikipedia history. Looking at the history of the page where that edit was made: Red Pen of Doom, it appears that an "IP hopping vandal" was "attacking" RPOD, vandalizing his page 212.183.128.59 here then getting blocked here 212.183.128.59 another edit here: 212.183.128.120. And, others as well. Veteran editors are familiar with IP changes, so I wouldn't worry about it. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 06:48, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

I might ask the same of you, because whatever your source, it is wrong - so, yes, where was that bogus birthday published? I know Frank Cavallo aka VON LMO and am currently playing in the same band (Avant Duel) with him, have played with him on and off for over 45 years and exchanged birthday gifts with him over many of those years. I stand corrected - it is March 10, 1951 (my wife is born on the 22nd of March, 1951 and for some reason I have always thought she was older than him, but apparently not. My source is VON's (Frank Cavallo's) NY State Identification Card of which I possess a digital file - how do I send this to you or post it into this Wiki document?

Ottovr93 (talk) 20:28, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Posting an image of someone's ID on Wikipedia would likely be frowned upon Wikipedia:Personal information. In following with Wikipedia policy, the birthday should probably be removed. May I suggest that you either delete the birth date with an wp:edit summary of "No source for birth date", or change it as you believe it to be with an edit summary to the effect of personal knowledge as a friend. I won't undo it, though someone else may. Thanks for your note. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 20:44, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

What I was trying to do

This site is so confusing. It said disruptive editing on the site , I'm not sure that you wrote those words.

Now my website is blocked.

I began a nice little page on limogesboxes and put a link to my sites markings. The markings page is now on a blacklist Could you please unblock my page limogesboutique (dot) com and just put a nice little link to the markings page so people could see all of the limoges markings. I also wanted to expand on the information. The reason I took content down is because it mirrored content on my website and when I first started this I did not realize that mattered.

Also my competitors limogesboxcollector.com kept deleting my links and putting in links to their webpages for advertizing. back and forth and back and forth. In the end the whole thing got blocked and I could not finish the page when I sat down to finally do it.

This whole thing has been annoying. I was trying to write an article with a link to my site that showed the limoges markings. And it turned into a advertizement war. Why they cant write a page of their own I do not know. I just was making a page with a link to That information use to be on another link, but I have since rebuilt the website.

As you can see very relevant content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.96.242.159 (talk) 17:48, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Are you Miraluck or someone else? Please try to make it easy to communicate. Per wp:linkspam, links websites with prices generally do not belong on Wikipedia. I don't see why limogesboutique.com should be an exception. You (and others?) persisted in adding the link to Wikipedia after warnings, so it was blacklisted. If you want to link to that information from Wikipedia, I would suggest creating a new web site that is non-commercial then linking Wikipedia to it. Be sure to maintain its non-commercial status. If it changes, the link would be removed. Jim1138 (talk) 19:41, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your message about why you removed what I added to "Russians in Korea". You mentioned that I didn't have a source about the Russian prostitutes in Busan. In this case, having lived in Korea for three years, my source is myself having been approached by Russian prostitutes and offered services in Busan. Can I use myself as a source? Thanks Jim. -Jeff — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jrs1040 (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately not. Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. Using your own knowledge is considered original research. As Wikipedia is edited by many, some check the references to make sure it is reliable. You will not always be available, so it needs to be written down and vetted as reliable. For info on sources see reliable sources. Also, people add things from rumor and just make stuff up to be funny or to vandalize. If you can find a news article, book, or some other source, please add that source with your edit. See wp:cite Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 17:46, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for looking out for Peg's page. You are of course correct that she was English. I am EXTREMELY and intimately close with Peg's biographer. His book "Peg Entwistle and the Hollywood Sign Suicide: A Biography," is being published by McFarland & Company and is due for release later this fall. However, it is now available for pre-order at Amazon. Just keyword "Peg Entwistle." Or, you can go to hollywood sign girl.com to see more info there.

Also, I notice that the drive-by editors who like to keep calling Peg "Welsh," also alter their I.P. Address to mask their location....I always wonder about such things. Well, I'm off to the Sign to have some time alone with my thoughts of Peg. Have a nice day, Jim1138. 169.232.212.26 (talk) 22:09, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Jim, I dont understand why all of you are erasing so much information, the links I send in are credible, so you have no reasons to erase them, if you feel its garbled as you stated, then look into it and make the proper corrections, not to mention that is based on a poor, bias and incorrect asumption, since it was quoted word for word, so you had no means of erasing it since I already provided two links to its root artcile on google news.

terrell jacobs is credible along with clyde beatty whom you've erased as well, I showed there links, sources and quotas from reliable places such as google books and google news.

I have a big problem with this page of lions vs tigers...

That wiki page is not called the most extreme weights of the largest tigers (Sub-speices) vs the low averages of lions, no, its titled lion vs tiger, (as in speices vs speices) this is not a chetty picking contest or forum, so that means all sub-speices must be combined to reach a average weight, this page is a contradiction to what it already has as the overall tigers weights which is 160 kg is the average tigers weight as for their speices. As do almost every source that sumed up these animals of:

http://books.google.com/books?id=XFIbjBEQolMC&pg=PA54&dq=lion+tiger+160+kg&hl=en&sa=X&ei=EDBXUpjHKa_wiQLvjIHQCw&ved=0CBMQ6AEwAA

Not to mention this site has only pro tiger data, since on numerous occaisons credible accounts of lions killing tigers have been posted, google news archive already has over 20 individual cases, yet this wiki page has been up for over 6 years, an not one can find its way here? C'mon this page should be over hauled and deleted if its not going to up-hold the guide lines of wiki, at this point its a forum where tiger fanatics can come on and with hundreds of aliases self moderate and erase anything that favors the lions behalf, since it already has been done, its ridiculously easy to see, since examining the 1909 occaison on multiple news archives shows the lion named Prince dident even die, yet for years wiki has been emiting in 1909 a tiger killed a lion.

Having millions of people quote wiki, so that means millions of people have been lied to, shame on wiki with its half ass moderating.

It even witholds information, since the tale of pompeii stated the mosaic was of a lion standing over a prostrated tiger, yet it links the book that witholds that informatiion, not the one where it was excavated. Majority of the quotas backing the tiger aint even checked by any accord, yet it states no (citation needed) yet it can remain for years? While anything of the highest credability favoring the opposite gets constantly erased with false acusations, even if its real.

Thats not what wiki is supposed to stand for, we need facts or reliable sources, none of which stands is even reliable, since none of what was writtem is even showing up in the external links.

This site for over 6 years has been moderated by kids, and fanatics, basically making wiki a giant seacrh engined propelled by lies.

You know what, I wont bother already, I'll follow up on this else where and include a detailed summary of how retardedly idiotic this site is in providing facts, you can leave it in any bias way you see fit, I'll just make an exploitation list and expose this bias site later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.85.150.155 (talk) 23:14, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

Removing My Edit

Hi, I am sorry, I am new to editing. I have proof of what I added. The source is myself, I don't know if this counts. I am asking to get it published in a news article somewhere. What would be considered a reliable source and proof? I thought I added some. I know I am new, and am sure there is more to what I need to do. But I want to do that, show what I am writing is 100% factual, and have it part of the article. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TruthSpeaker85 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability. Content needs to have a reliable source. As anyone can edit, people want to be able to look up the sources. Using your own knowledge is called original research and is discouraged. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 00:34, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

I hear ya now, totally understandable. Otherwise anyone can say this happened, and it could be taken as fact. W/O guys like you this place would be filled with both misinfo and disinfo. I have contacted a few news outlets, I will let YOU know how that goes, I am looking to get it published, once I do I will re-edit citing the source. It will be a reliable source, or news outlet. I will also provide further documentation as well. Your not saying you don't believe what I'm writing, just that it needs to be confirmed by a reliable 3rd party source (unbiased). Thanks for clearing it up, will read up a little more, push this issue, and get the article edited correctly.

Jesus

Thanks for informing me, honey. I appreciate your work for the betterment of wikipedia. The statement that jesus is masih in Islam is almost like a universal truth just like the statement that jesus is a prophet in Islam(it also has no refrence). There are uncountable sources that prove this fact, so I avoided adding refrence for convenience. If you are not still satisfied, then i will add some reffs. thanks dear.Leopetra (talk) 09:36, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing, and there is a mistake on your userpage

Hi Jim! First of all, thanks for reverting vandalism, I really appreciate that! Secondly, your userpage states 'states lived in', with American states. That implies you live(d) in the USA. However, 'countries lived in' does not state so. Mistake? :P

Greetings! Jarvix (talk) 19:23, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

I presume that you mean it is rather USA-centric? I reworded it to be somewhat less so. I lived in Maharashtra state while in India. I don't think Bougainville Island had states. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 02:38, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
