Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Christian Fuchs, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:15, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Christian Fuchs, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Content not supported by source: no mention of Fuchs. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:25, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, the source have been used at various pages for Leicester players who is not on the pitch for the final. Are you going to delete all of them? Furthermore, I have noticed that you have records of rejecting various source, including a link from LCFC official website with clearly a photo evidence of Fuchs holding the FA Cup. I will once again submit another piece of evidence from news. If you insist on reverting an edit with various evidence and support which had been tried by different Wikipedia users. I will surely take further action, which may involve reports and investigations on whether you have the ability to continue as the role of administrator. Thank you for your concern. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 00:32, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to hear which players these are? Mattythewhite (talk) 00:34, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please kindly look into the new sources provided. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 00:41, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That looks good to me. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:53, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For the players with the same type of sources, for example, you can check Kepa Arrizabalaga’s Champions League Jeremy Hulber (talk) 00:46, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Same as Tammy Abraham, Willy Caballero, Kurt Zouma, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Billy Gilmour, Emerson Jeremy Hulber (talk) 00:50, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The source mentions those players (except Abraham, who wasn't involved in the match), see the Line-ups tab. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:53, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For FA Cup 19-20, Matt Macey has the same type of source. Also, Bernd Leno has that in honour with no sources. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 00:57, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, sorry for the mistake, however according to your standard, does it means that the honour under Abraham will be removed? Jeremy Hulber (talk) 01:00, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It should be removed with the present source, really, unless an alternative can be provided, such as one claiming that he received a medal. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:10, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please check the new sources I attached. I hope you would love to see them. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 01:01, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Leicester Mercury one looks fine, but just so you know, Transfermarkt isn't a reliable source as its content is user-generated. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:10, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Have a nice day. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 01:19, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Harvey Barnes, you may be blocked from editing. Mattythewhite (talk) 11:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive destruction to Wikipedia pages on football. There are no sources put into the biography section for when they started their academy. Take Jesse Lingard as an example, you won’t have a link attached to the year he started academy in Manchester United. The source only says he starts at seven years old not year 2000.

Furthermore, in case you wonder, Harvey Barnes joined Leicester City on 8 June, 2007. There are sources available to back up in Harvey’s interview, titled ‘Harvey Barnes: Time for Reflection’ . In which there is a quote as below ‘says the Leicester City Academy graduate, who joined the Club as a nine-year-old on 8 June, 2007’ (link: https://www.lcfc.com/news/1671976/harvey-barnes-time-for-reflection/featured)

I am very disappointed to be accused of disruptive editing. All my past edits, including the one you raised concerns about FA cup honours, for which I have eventually submitted Leicester Mercury as the source. It is very unfortunate that this baseless accusations ends with threatening me with a block, given that my edits are contributing, all with valid evidence, in good faith and with more than enough competence to ensure the content on Wikipedia is at the highest quality. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 12:05, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you feel better after getting that off your chest? Next time, just include a source when adding new content, okay? Mattythewhite (talk) 12:14, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to clarify if they are ‘distributive editing’.

Furthermore, I would like to know where I should put the source for adding a year to the biography part.

I mean literally what I say. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 12:17, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the section that's most relevant, which I've since done here. Mattythewhite (talk) 12:20, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well thanks for that appreciate it Jeremy Hulber (talk) 12:30, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of information

[edit]

Do not remove information with a valid source as you have done to Djed Spence BennyJacobs123 (talk) 06:46, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please be noted that the information with so-called ‘valid source’ should not be a part of Wikipedia content. The player, Djed Spence, has not been announced to join Tottenham. The player’s Wikipedia page is not there to show transfer link or rumour, which cannot be backed up by facts. Therefore, the information should have been removed. July 2023

[edit]

Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Callum Doyle article, but I have found one and added it for you. Please try and remember to include sources yourself with future edits. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 07:49, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for adding a source to it. However, I have two concerns. Firstly, the sentence was created by another user. I have only changed the wordings. Secondly, there is a source from Leicester City website attached.I thought that would be enough as a credible source, even though I am not the one who posted it.
Please let me know what you think about these two concerns. Many thanks! Jeremy Hulber (talk) 11:01, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox football club season

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for trying to improve Wikipedia's coverage of football club seasons.

As to your changes at 2023–24 Birmingham City F.C. season, I have no problem with restricting italics to league and cup status. Nor do I object to having multiple top scorers on separate lines rather than comma-separated, although I doubt the need to have the number of goals below the names rather than alongside the bottom one, but they need to be formatted with the accessibility-compliant {{ublist}} or {{plainlist}} rather than <br>s: see MOS:NOBREAKS, MOS:UBLIST. It'd be better if the formatting were done by the infobox template code rather than being left to individual editors to hack, but if we're going to hack, we should do it as accessibly as possible.

The wording If the top scorer in all competitions has all of his goals in the league, leave this parameter blank in the documentation of |season topscorer= is another matter. I've boldly removed it from the documentation, and explained why at Template talk:Infobox football club season/doc#Removal of wording from season topscorer documentation. Thanks for brining it to my attention. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:05, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can see the point you are making in the first paragraph.
And for the season top scorer issue, I do agree it might be clearer with both. I just thought the template would be the final authority and for all pages to follow. Happy to see a change to the template as well.
And thanks for your effort on making things work and for many readers using Wikipedia for information on football. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 13:14, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

[edit]

Hey, just two things.

First, here's the official source for his number being 18 and not 16: https://www.lcfc.com/teams/men?lang=en.

Second, since he is still only 19, he is still available for the Ghana U21s. Shouldn't we keep it "2021–" instead of just "2021"? Genuinely asking, I don't know if there is any "official guideline" for this; I normally only close the dates after the player becomes too old to represent that age group. What do you think? JoaoSPinto18 (talk) 18:02, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thank you for putting 18 back in. I was looking at the website but I still put in the wrong information that's my fault.
Regarding to the U21 issue, there was a discussion for whether the timeframe should be closed one year or two year after their last appearance. It seems Fatawu has not played for Ghana for more than two years. Thanks for clearing that up! No problem with the number thing, happens to everyone! Keep up the good work! JoaoSPinto18 (talk) 21:30, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. You're amending the tense of the verb "to serve" from the present to the past, although this violates accepted practice per the Manual of Style. The question that would rightfully pop up if the verb were to be used in the past tense is: "OK, since she served, she is logically no longer serving. When did her tenure end?" -The Gnome (talk) 12:07, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was using the terms as in present perfect tense. This is the only tense that can be used when since 2024 is used. It is also the only acceptable tense to use on all the other pages in British poltics indicating political offices, such as MPs and ministers.
Rachel Reeves started her position as Chancellor and continues to do so at this moment. That's why present perfect tense is the only acceptable standards. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 12:34, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please check again the pertinent section about accepted practice for verb tenses in the Manual of Style. There is no mention of "present perfect tense" anywhere. Therefore, you are, in effect, introducing a new tool. It may be good or it may be not. If you feel strongly about the need to change, please first raise the issue in the Talk section of the Manual and we'll take it from there. If anything, the present perfect continuous tense, also known as the present perfect progressive tense, could be deployed, if MOS is changed, making this "Rachel Reeves has been serving as ... since...". I reverted your latest edit in order to proceed. Take care. -The Gnome (talk) 16:45, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to thank you for raising your concerns on the Manuel of Style. If I am honest, i just followed the practices over different pages, with using the same set of tenses. Do you think it is important for the issue surrounding tense to be raised in discussions on the talk section?
It seems to me it is still one of the standard practices over pages of politicians around the world. But thank you for your understanding anyways. Jeremy Hulber (talk) 16:53, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
