Unnecessary information in Modern animation in the United States

[edit]

Information icon Hi, there. I am here to address how you have been continuously adding unneeded and/or biased information to the Modern animation in the United States page, even after they had been undone, and I would like to explain the reasoning behind these constant reversions of your edits. Firstly, the reason you cannot mark exact years for the era's start and end is because it is a subject of debate. Not everybody agrees the silver age of animation began in 1986, as 1987 and 1989 have also been cited as credible starting points. Likewise, not everybody agrees the era ended in 1999, as many sources say the era lasted into the 2000s as late as 2004. Therefore, I have listed the silver age of animation as spanning from "the late 1980s to early 2000s" to put an end this debate. Additionally, I would appreciate if you stopped adding redundant details to the "changes in animation" portion of the article, like mentioning the earliest uses of digital production in animated shows and movies. It's way to much information to condense into a paragraph and turns it into a run-on sentence. Overall, I kindly ask of you to please leave the page as is, because it does not need the information you've been adding, unless you can find a better way to implement them. Otherwise, I may have to report you to the authorities of the site for edit warring, which I do not want to do. Thank you for understanding. --Oefirvirfokdokov (talk) 00:22, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Chuck Downs (animator)

[edit]

Hello, JennyD44,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Chuck Downs (animator), for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hello, JennyD44

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username The Night Watch, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Charlie Downs (animator), for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|The Night Watch}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Deletion discussion about Charlie Downs (animator)

[edit]

Hello, JennyD44, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username The Night Watch, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Charlie Downs (animator), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charlie Downs (animator).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|The Night Watch}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Information icon Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, James Baxter (animator), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 21:29, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

About your edit to The Boy and the Heron

[edit]

Hey JennyD44, thanks for contributing to this article! Could you let me know what source you were referring to when you made this edit? I'm having difficulty finding information about the cast of this film from anywhere that isn't IMDb, which is not acceptable for use on WIkipedia. Please use edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! -- Ponyobons mots 15:54, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have again removed categories without any edit summary explaining why or responding to my message above. Communication is absolutely required on this project, so please ensure you are 1) using edit summaries and 2) discussing concerns raised by other editors moving forward.-- Ponyobons mots 16:09, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
