Hello welcome to wikipedia. I actually have a stamp from Buenos Aires province dated 1858! You could find some images for your article. remember to categorize. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 17:22, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
You might want to see Category:Postage stamps by country. From what I can see a page on Argentina doesn't yet exist so your article should go at the beginning of an entire page on Argentine philately. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 17:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
All of your other work on Argentine philately should be sub sectioned here Postage stamps and postal history of Argentina. Good luck editing and check out that categoryErnst Stavro Blofeld 17:31, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
You can see how incomplete everythin is. From my personal knowledge I think there are over 700 countries states and post offices abroad that have produced stamps. really that category should have over 700 different entries. Your work would be much much needed. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 17:33, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Many thanks for your comments and editing of my contribution dealing with the early postal history of Argentina.
Yes, I am working on a more complete contribution on Argentine postal history and will post it, as you suggest, on an entire article on Argentine stamps.
I do have a question for you: what is the legal basis for putting images of Argentine postage stamps on Wikipedia Commons? I had put a few stamps on the Commons, but they were deleted by an administrator who said that since commons was an international category, I needed to have permission from Argentine authorities or Argentine copyright law to use them. Do you know of any such permission or copyright provision? Or can we get around the problem by putting the images on the English Wikipedia page itself, since I believe it is covered by US copyright law inasmuch as the servers are in the United States?
Again, many thanks for your help. Jchild 19:17, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Stamp copyright
[edit]Where is the stamp copyright discussion on the commons that you mentioned on the Philately Project page? I was unable to find it as you did not provide a link. Cheers ww2censor 04:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- The discussion is at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Stamps/Public_domain
Please join in the discussion Jchild 19:18, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look at my article on Spanish advertising translation. I must, however respectfully disagree with your feeling that it is "original research". I explain my reasons on the edit summary and also the talk page dealing with the article. Per the delete message, I have also improved the article (I hope), and I have thus removed the delete message.Jchild 12:28, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- I note your comments, but have applied both significance and tone tags for the reasons stated on the discussion page. If the article stays, it still needs much work to have a less sales-tone/more global perspective view required of wikipedia as an encyclopedia. Rgds, - Trident13 13:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Good evening! I came across the interesting article above, and I wanted to suggest that you modify its style slightly so that (even though it may end up being less vivid) it may adhere more neatly to the tone that is, for better or worse, the standard on Wikipedia. Good as it is right now, it does read a little informal in places, which makes the article hard to access for later edits and hard to keep NPOV.
Oh, and consider moving it; the current format doesn't seem altogether intuitive, and might cause problems linking to it later.
And do keep up the good work.
Kind regards, Weasel 21:36, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Little context in Confidence-building measures: opposition in Latin America
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. Philately WikiProject
[edit]You are listed as a participant in the Philately WikiProject. Today I have created an inactive list consisting of those participants who have not made any philatelic edits for more than six months. I was going to use a 3 month cut off point but felt generous. You are not one of those editors, so I have not moved you and you remain as an active participant. If you are still active on Wikipedia but are inactive in philately please let us know by moving yourself to the inactive list. However, we really need more active participants for all philatelic articles. The Philately Portal has been running for some time and I am doing occasional updates, Postage stamps of Ireland is a candidate for featured article (that would be the first philatelic article), and several of the redlinks have been filled but we need more activity so if you are around please participate. Thanks for the work you have done in the past even if you have not done anything recently. I also left the same message at the Jack Child talk page as I believe both are yours though this username was the one you used for the project. Cheers ww2censor 02:56, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Spanish advertising translation
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Spanish advertising translation, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. jbmurray (talk • contribs) 06:42, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Abaroa-365Bol.jpeg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Abaroa-365Bol.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 18:40, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Abaroa-365Bol.jpeg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Abaroa-365Bol.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 18:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:AlfonsínUru1227.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AlfonsínUru1227.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:26, 24 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pais (talk) 08:26, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

This article appears to contain work copied from https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Stationing%20permanent%20liaison%20observers%20at%20major%20headquarters.%22, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. Replaceable non-free use File:Allende.Moneda.Cuba2605.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Allende.Moneda.Cuba2605.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vanjagenije (talk) 00:33, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
