Disambiguation link notification for June 12
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jan Kryjevski, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Transrealism (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hookup culture
[edit]Just as a heads up, I thought that I'd mention that your edits to Hookup culture were once again reverted last night. The article seems to be stabilizing somewhat, but it went through a bit of an edit war. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 16:54, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a Scientologist anti-drug organization. The article is basically a hit piece, as one might expect. I gave it a quick round of copy editing and improved its structure somewhat, but it still needs a lot of work to fix the bias. If you're bored, maybe you could take a look at it and see if you can work some of your NPOV magic on it. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:55, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Eugene Plotkin
[edit]What the hell do you think you are playing at? You have converted a redirect to an article concerning an Eugene Plotkin (amongst others) involved in an insider trading case into an article concerning another Eugene Plotkin entirely. Do you have the faintest idea how confusing this is, and of what the potential consequences could be? Any existing link to the redirect could end up libelling the Israeli mathematician. I am going to restore the redirect, and suggest that you start another article on the mathematician, with a proper disambiguating title. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:22, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Nina Bari (1901-1961) Photograph.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Nina Bari (1901-1961) Photograph.jpg, which you've attributed to ru:Файл:Бари-НК.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. The article Eugene Plotkin (mathematician) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Ad Orientem (talk) 21:52, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

A quick note
[edit]Hi Jaytwist; thanks for your copy-editing; it's most appreciated. Just a quick note about your changes to Principality of Nitra; changing "say/said" and "write/wrote" to "indicate", "argues", "hold", etc introduces 'weasel words' and ambiguity into articles and the Good Article criteria require compliance to words to watch. We need to be careful not to imply things that aren't verified by references, especially when we can't easily check them. Most of your changes there are definite improvements though; thanks again. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 03:19, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Thank you!

Jaytwist, I hereby bestow upon you The Copyeditor's Barnstar for your extensive copy editing of Confederate Memorial (Romney, West Virginia). Your masterful wordsmithing is needed!
[edit]Jaytwist, should you have some free time, would you be able to run a brief copy edit on the article User:Caponer/Charles M. Williams. I will be moving this article into the mainspace, so your edits will also move to the new article. I really appreciated your great contributions to Confederate Memorial (Romney, West Virginia), and would like it if you could spruce up the article for Charles M. Williams before it goes primetime. Any guidance or assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -- Caponer (talk) 02:47, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
A pie for you!
[edit]Jaytwist, I hereby present you with this delicious pie in appreciation of your thorough review and copyedit of Charles M. Williams (American academic)! You've vastly improved the quality and readability of this article, and for that I am incredibly grateful! Enjoy this pie, and please do not hesitate if you need my assistance in the future! Caponer (talk) 03:28, 9 May 2014 (UTC) |
Thanks so much for the fixing on the article. I have nominated it for copy editing at the guild, I have just one more section to add to the article and then I'm done. If you are willing, I'd really appreciate it if you could do a thorough c/e, I know it's a chore lol. It would mean so much! Please let me know! Thanks—CoolMarc 16:15, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Sorry for the late response. I'm done with my draft on the article. You can go ahead with the c/e now! Thanks again for your willingness to help, the c/e will do the article wonders! Also please note that not every sentence has a ref at the end due to WP:OVERCITE. You can trim all the fluff out as well if you wish, especially the lead needs a bit of a cut lol! Thanks again Jay!—CoolMarc 14:23, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm not sure if you're familiar with song articles, but the edit you did on Bounce removed practically the majority of the info on the article? Most of which was not fluff. Wow. Was this intended? Must say I'm glad another user reverted the edit because I honestly didn't expect such a c/e that the article would end up like a stub! Have a look at FAs like Love the Way You Lie or Diamonds (Rihanna song). Song articles have many aspects that need to go into detail when it comes to a GA or FA. The only section that needed trimming was the music video section and the lead...—CoolMarc 20:57, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Charles M. Williams (American academic)
[edit]On 7 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Charles M. Williams (American academic), which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Harvard Business School professor Charles M. Williams survived the sinking of the USS Lexington by swinging from a line onto the deck of a rescuing destroyer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Charles M. Williams (American academic). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
