Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jayebae98. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Funding Societies, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 06:01, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, appreciate if you can reply whether are you related to Funding Societies in any way? If you are related to Funding Societies, especially an employee of the company, please stop editing the article. Thanks. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 06:45, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no wonder i was wondering why my edits weren't working. Hi yes my name is Jaye, an intern working for Funding Societies. Do i need to do anything to confirm my identity? Jayebae98 (talk) 06:46, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
would appreciate if you dont revert the article back to the very initial version before the edits. have been re-doing them many times alrdy thank you. Jayebae98 (talk) 06:47, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, are you being instructed by your supervisor to update the Wikipedia article? If yes, please show him Wikipedia's guideline on WP:Conflict of Interest. Regardless, please stop updating this article as your current actions violate Wikipedia's guideline.
If you continue to edit, you will need to declare your COI and request via a request edit and other editors will assess and subsequently help to make the changes if appropriate. Failure to follow the guideline may result in your account being blocked from editing. Thanks. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 06:54, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi duly noted. Could we take our conversation to email? Have sent u an email and would like to loop you in with my supervisor thank you! Jayebae98 (talk) 07:03, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry do you've an email address I can reply to? Greatly appreciated Jayebae98 (talk) 07:04, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I saw your email and prefer the interaction stays here due to nature of the edits.
Firstly, I like to note there is no licensed editors, Wikipedia editors are all volunteers.
Secondly, you can resume editing by declaring your Conflict of interest in your userpage (see instructions above in one of the links) then write a {{request edit}} or via the Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard.
Thirdly, Casting aspersions on my username that it is shady does not help even if you say no offense. Thanks. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 07:11, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Duly noted.
And I apologise for the lack of better phrasing. I sincerely didn't mean to cast aspersions. It is my first time being around this space and when you reached out to me as being called 'justanothersgwikieditor', as opposed to a more 'official' sounding name, I was honestly skeptical about who's stopping me; hope you see where I'm coming from.
if anything, i appreciate what you're doing and hope you see things from my point of view, I really mean no harm. Jayebae98 (talk) 07:19, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, apology accepted. As Wikipedia is a volunteer based community, account names are pretty random and would/could be like any instagram/forums handles/usernames and there are some pretty weird usernames but very legit editors. Do try to WP:Assume Good Faith in any interaction first in Wikipedia and real life.
Do read through the guidelines and understand what you need to do. Response to edit requests might be slow due to a backlog and as said, we are all volunteers and hopefully some editor may spot your request and respond to you accordingly. If there is any followup needed, usually the responding editor will inform/ping you on it. Thanks. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 07:35, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Duly noted and thank you for clarifying. Sorry that I got to know you under such circumstances. I shall relay these instructions to my supervisor.
Thank you!
All good things,
Jaye Jayebae98 (talk) 08:04, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
