An editor has nominated Lego Star Wars II (DS version), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lego Star Wars II (DS version) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Lego Star Wars II (DS version). The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. MER-C 09:16, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gardening Greatness

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Gardening Greatness, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Sources

[edit]

Hello Jay. Thank you for your contributions to coldwater fish. However, you have added a lot of examples, but you have not provided any citations. Can you provide a reliable source for the addition you made? For example, if you were copying the list from a book, you xan add the book as your reference. If on the other hand, you are an expert on coldwater fish, and were just adding fish from the top of your head, then you are presumably expert enough to know where these fish are listed in the literature. Without a source, your list has little encyclopaedic value, and is liable to be removed. Thanks. --Geronimo20 (talk) 21:12, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Geronimo. I copied the majority of the freshwater aquarium list from a fishkeeping magazine with supplements from my own knowledge, the freshwater pond one was just a compilation of species I'd got from websites and books, and the marine aquarium one was purely from websites. However, I am a real newbie to Wikipedia, and I don't really know how to add a citation, I clicked the link in your comment, but I still don't understand. Thanks for the notification. Jay942942 (talk) 21:47, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If the magazine is a well established magazine, it would be okay as a source. Likewise, the books are probably okay as well. The websites may be okay if they are, for example, university or government websites, such as NOAA, or websites belongiing to reputable NGO's, such as the Sea Around Us. However , blogs and personal or commercial websites usually don't count. Create a section called "References" just before the "External links" section, and just list the details of your main references there as best as you can (two or three will do, and say which section of fishes the reference belongs to). Then I will reformat them so you can see how it is done. Feel free to ask me about things. The article is on my watchlist, so I will know when you edit it. Be bold in your editing, and if you are unsure about what you have done, you can ask me to look at it. --Geronimo20 (talk) 22:23, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Communisthukrebel.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Communisthukrebel.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:06, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not put back in an edit that has been removed with reason, and especially not without offering your own reason. The cycle is Bold, Revert, Discuss. You were bold; I reverted; it is now upon you to discuss on the talk page. Please do not edit war. --Golbez (talk) 16:12, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason you have something against communicating? --Golbez (talk) 16:16, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I reverted without realizing it wasn't another revert from you, and unlike you, I wanted to offer a reason: Many languages are spoken in many places, so why single out French? There are probably more Chinese speakers in the U.S. than there are French. --Golbez (talk) 16:32, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for the reverts, it was accidental because I don't fully understand how to use Wikipedia. I singled out French as there are many French immersion schools in Louisiana, the French language has been in Louisiana for centuries, French has large cultural importance in the state, there is bilingual signage in many parts of the state and an act was passed by state legislature in 2011 meaning that the state government would try to identify employees proficient in French and take steps in providing services in French to Francophone locals and visitors.--Jay942942 (talk) 16:50, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for responding. Singling out French that way in the infobox, without giving a reason there (and indeed, without space to give a reason, because it's an infobox) would, I think, confuse readers. The nuance is best described in the text and the article on the languages of the country. --Golbez (talk) 17:41, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jay942942. You recently edited Liberal Democrats, adding internal links to the words "yellow" and "orange" in the infobox. The word orange has many meanings, and the page at that title is a disambiguation page.

In addition, everyday words that can be easily understood should in general not be linked, unless the pages so linked are on similar topics. Most English speakers can understand the words yellow and orange, and discussion of the colors is probably not of interest to encyclopedia users reading about the Liberal Democrats. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking for more discussion.

Thanks, and happy editing. Cnilep (talk) 03:49, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Civil conflict in the Philippines has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be original research, was created by a sock and the factual accuracy of this article is highly doubted.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for your edit to this page today. Could you convert the footnotes to the customary WP format, please? These notes should help.

Composing footnotes using the WP cite templates
(Summary of WP:FOOTNOTES section 3.1.)
Please note that bare URL footnotes – i.e. footnotes that contain only the website http address – are susceptible to link-rot, which means that if the website moves to a new domain with a new URL, the link will be broken and readers will be unable to read the citation.
  1. First put the cursor at the point in the edit text where you want the footnote to go, then click "Cite" in the edit strip at the top of the Edit Page, then click "Templates" on the left, and a drop-down menu appears.
  2. Choose "cite web" or "cite news" (for articles and websites), "cite book" or "cite journal", click and a box comes up.
  3. Fill in the all details of the citation, then click "Preview" and "Show parsed preview" to see it looks right. (To correct anything, correct the box entries, then click the two "Previews" again.) In "cite book" remember to add the page number(s) of the book.
  4. Click "Insert" and the citation automatically goes into the edit text. (It may not go in at the exact point where the cursor is if you use Firefox or Chrome.)
Thanks. --P123ct1 (talk) 16:28, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Alex Jones (radio host) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
You've been here over a decade, you know the drill: when your edit has been disputed by other editors, you either discuss it on the article's talk page in hopes of the restoration of your edit -- or you leave it as is. You don't edit war. My suggestion would be that you discuss your edit on the article's talk page.MelbourneStartalk 13:00, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify, the initial editor I reverted was someone who had the mistaken impression I deleted material on the page. This differs from the objections of the second editor I reverted, which was regarding the source itself. I understand and accept that a strict interpretation of the rules under WP:EW would mean this still constitutes edit warring. No one seems to be disputing the actual claim being made, but I will make a post on the talk page anyhow.--Jay942942 (talk) 13:21, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lego Star Wars II (DS version) listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Lego Star Wars II (DS version). Since you had some involvement with the Lego Star Wars II (DS version) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Alt-Right template

[edit]

I will have to request you undo the reversion of my deletion of Milo Yiannopolous. This is the second time my edit was reverted without a citation of why Milo should be considered a member of the Alt-Right. He personally disavows the Alt-Right, and the Alt-Right disavows him. Milo disavowing the Alt-Right [1] [2] Someone speaking for the Alt-Right stating their disagreement of what Milo does [3]

If you can properly cite sources on what the Alt-Right is, and how that relates to how Milo is, despite his disagreements with the movement, and people within the movement not accepting him, then feel free to leave a note here with those citations and disregard my request to undo the reversion you have done. Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). C.D. Random (talk) 09:24, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I did not revert your deletion, according to the edit history. Please consult the individual who did instead.--Jay942942 (talk) 10:11, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Taylor's article mentions "alt-right" exactly one time: "Taylor has often been described in media reports as associated with the alt-right". Given that we haven't even agreed upon a standard for inclusion in this template, relying on that one line seems way out of line. Rockypedia (talk) 22:36, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Considering there's only about 4 people that are actively involved in the editing of that footer box, I think a consensus on anything is unlikely to arise. As a result, I'd like to move to an RfC.--Jay942942 (talk) 13:51, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Jay942942. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war.

Editing without logging in

[edit]

You have been making many, many edits without being logged in. They are clearly intended to evade scrutiny and thus are considered abusive. I am not blocking you for your behavior, but consider this an only warning that if you persist in failing to log in when you edit Wikipedia, you risk being blocked for sock puppetry.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:39, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The edits while not logged in were accidental. In future I will check I am logged in before editing.--Jay942942 (talk) 22:03, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the number and juxtaposition of logged out edits, I don't believe they were accidental. However, as long as you stop doing it, I won't take any action.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:33, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your reverts

[edit]

Hello, I'm ObserverEU. You have reverted my edits in Law and Justice. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions. You seem to be an experienced user. I am a new enWP user but seasoned in real life. My understanding is that we strive for neutral point of view and balance based on verfified sources. Your revert to Law and Justice seemed not neutral to me, so I reverted it for now. You have provided some news articles for PiS being right-wing. Did you see on the talk page, that there are just over 4 thousand news describing PiS as "Conservative" centre-right? In addition I have provided there more than 30 exemplary sources from all types of media incl. governments/insitutions/science/public and private media/wikipedia articles describing PiS as conservative. Lets engage on Talk:Law_and_Justice to find a consenus on a balanced description. Kind regards --ObserverEU (talk) 16:30, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Likud. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. You seem to have an animus against nationalism and right-wing politics. I advise you stay away from such subjects for a while.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  07:24, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add any personal view or original research, nor do I have such an animus - in fact, over the last few years on several articles regarding nationalist or right-wing politics I have advocated for removing or tempering the excessive "far right" labels that were present on Wikipedia a few years ago. All I did on the Likud article was remove a "majority" subheading after another editor removed a "minority" subheading - which is the reasonable thing to do in such a situation, and neither "majority" nor "minority" are mentioned in sources. Are you confusing me with another user, or did you undo the wrong edit?--Jay942942 (talk) 10:49, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions notice for post-1932 American politics and living or recently deceased people

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Question

[edit]

Hi. I see you are keen on labelling disparate historical parties as "national conservative" in the infobox (WP:UNDUE at best, unsourced most of the time), even when it is clearly not the dominating label in sources providing a holistic treatment in depth about the political parties concerned. Is there a reason for it? I can only come to think about a dogwistle I am not yet able to hear or putting the overarching interest of a fictional "national conservatism" wikiproject ahead of the quality of the individual articles as possible rationales, but surely there needs to be another reason... Citation argument: page

[edit]

I am currently cleaning up Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls, and I see citations with arguments like these: page=112|page=113 instead of pages=112{{ndash}}113. Are you aware of this? I wrote this talk message to notify you in case you are not. – Ase1estet@lkc0ntribs 15:27, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware, must have been accidental, I will fix.--Jay942942 (talk) 15:28, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For your reference, the diffs I have found with this problem are Special:Diff/1000745895 and Special:Diff/1000747596. – Ase1estet@lkc0ntribs 15:31, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
