Caste-related details in biographies of living people
[edit]The mention of caste requires self-identification in the case of WP:BLPs – see here for details. So please add the caste-related detail only if the person self-identifies with it. - NitinMlk (talk) 20:47, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! August 2021
[edit]Hello, I'm DaxServer. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Kapil Sibal, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. -- DaxServer (talk) 13:55, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. -- DaxServer (talk) 13:57, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Uzair Baloch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ISI. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:56, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not use misleading edit summaries when making changes to Wikipedia pages. This behavior is viewed as disruptive, and continuation may result in loss of editing privileges. Please refrain from writing ambiguous summaries such as "Added new content" when you clearly haven't or "proper reference" when you are not adding any references. 2001:FD0:200:400:0:0:0:2 (talk) 14:58, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use edit summaries that are misleading, intentionally or not, as you did at Shershaah, you may be blocked from editing. Do not write edit summaries such as "Added new content" when you clearly haven't. 2405:201:4013:805C:9A2:9C83:8AAC:EB3 (talk) 21:29, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Terrorism and Pakistan-India consensus
[edit]- I have reverted a number of your edits where you have changed the term "insurgent"/"militant" to "terrorist." Terrorist is a contentious term and should not be used unless widely used by reliable sources. Please follow the link to understand more.
- Secondly, in your edit here Pakistan-administered Kashmir has been accepted by consensus due to the contentious nature of the subject. I will leave the discretionary sanctions alert below, so that you are aware of it and avoid the same mistakes in future. Cheers! 2405:201:4013:805C:9A2:9C83:8AAC:EB3 (talk) 21:41, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Misleading edit summaries
[edit]I should be leaving you a Level 4 warning given that you have been warned thrice already. Do NOT use misleading edit summaries as you did here again. I appreciate your contributions but failure to listen to other contributors is against the spirit of this community project. 2405:201:4013:805C:6469:9B10:61AC:4B38 (talk) 15:01, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
What is wrong with you? .. I have touched wikipedia in last 24 hours, and you have giving me warning and penalties. Stop bullying Javelin 1411 (talk) 16:24, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- I am not trying to bully you, hence my message above. You were first warned by DazServer on Aug 13, 2021 for misusing edit summaries. You continued to do so. I warned you myself twice on Aug 19 specifically mentioning the problem, yet you still continued to engage in the same behavior. Therefore, I left another message today. Please use the edit summary field to constructively describe your contribution. See Help:Edit Summary for more. Lastly, the section above is neither a warning nor a 'penalty', it is just to inform you. The first line even reads
It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
