Speedy deletion nomination of JaamSim

[edit]

Hello Java3dguy,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged JaamSim for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:53, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for undoing edit to list of discrete-event simulation software

[edit]

Hi Java3dguy,

Given the references it appears that JaamSim is notable. However, take a look at the SPA policies, as this account seems to be an SPA.[[1]]

It only looks like an SPA as today is the first day I have made edits to wikipedia, I might say the same about your account looking like an SPA, maybe wait awhile to give me a chance to build a track record of good changes. I only signed up today as I read the survey of open source simulation projects noting jaamsim and I noticed it didn't have a wikipedia page yet...sorry for trying to contribute.

Java3dguy,

That is good. However, your username suggests a likely conflict of interest with JaamSim, so, as a new user, I would encourage you to look at the SPA article. A link to SPA is not an indictment, but an invitation to learn more about contributing to wikipedia. I look forward to your future edits.

Also, you'll notice I added JaamSim to the list, as I agree it is notable. I didn't want others to assume that the edit came from an SPA account, and is therefore less reliable. SimUser (talk)

The article JaamSim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No third party sources, no assertion of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
