Information icon Hello, I'm Teles. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim—because it did not appear constructive. Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to List of orchidologists appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Hi Denisarona,
I spent my entire career as a Professor of Biology at the University of California, Irvine (1966-2001) working on orchids. My list of publications includes about 160 peer reviewed papers in prestigious journals, nearly 200 simple papers in orchid magazines, 22 books all published by major publishers (Wiley, Blackwell, Springer, Cornell University Press, New York Botanical Garden Press, The National University of Singapore Press and the like) and nearly 125 other publications here and there. To see partial lists please go to Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=sw9_vN4AAAAJ&hl=en), Research Gate (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Joseph-Arditti) and Academia Edu (https://uci.academia.edu/JosephArditti). The American Orchid Society gave me their highest awards (Fellow of AOS and Lifetime Research). Orchid experts all over the world consider me a leading, notable or the top orchid expert in the world. Why do you consider me non notable enough to be removed from the list? Thank you. Joseph Arditti, Professor of Biology Emeritus, University of California, Irvine. 68.5.31.107 (talk) 22:49, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jarditti,
I reverted because, as stated above, in general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added. Sorry about that, Regards Denisarona (talk) 07:14, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at your page and now I understand why you are so eager. You crave asll these awards. "Should have" is not "must have." You have plenty of attention, fame and glory. Rverting mine again will not add that much. Jarditti (talk) 08:39, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
