You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Caples Jefferson Architects requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:18, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Queenstheatre.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Queenstheatre.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:57, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you have had some trouble moving your article into the main encyclopedia space. I have deleted User:Caples Jefferson Architects - there is no such user, we do not allow usernames that are names of companies, and anyway that is not material for a user page. Another time, the easiest way to make a draft article is to go to Help:Userspace draft and fill in the article name: a draft will be created in your user space with links to useful advice and a "submit" button for when it is ready.

I see that you did manage to get the article into the main encyclopedia space at Caples Jefferson Architects and that it is now the subject of an WP:Articles for deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Caples Jefferson Architects and is being heavily revised. Some explanation may be helpful:

  • Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion of any kind, and is very resistant to anything that smacks of promotion. One reason why editing with a WP:Conflict of interest is strongly discouraged is that people close to a subject seem to find it very difficult to realise when they are writing promotionally. PR-speak like "fulfilling connections between the conceptual and the physical that zero in on the unique potential... embracing the dynamic of cultural broadening... " is fine for a company's own website, but not for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view, no "puffery", plain facts neutrally stated and backed up by reliable sources. I have also deleted the copy in your sandbox - we do not allow advertisements anywhere, even in sandboxes, and the material is still available in the history of the article if you need access to it.
  • A Wikipedia article is not owned by anyone, not its first author and certainly not its subject. Others can and will edit it, as is now happening to this one.
  • There is an important policy Wikipedia:Verifiability which requires that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." That includes claims like "Sustainable design has always been incorporated in Caples Jefferson Architects’ projects", for which its own publicity material would not be a reliable source. That is the basis on which a good deal is being trimmed from the article.

You may find User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard useful background. You are welcome to contribute to the deletion discussion, but you should understand that the discussion is not about the merits of the company, but about whether the article meets Wikipedia's standards. If you are employed by Caples Jefferson, you should read WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest, and should declare your interest in any contribution you make to the deletion debate.
