Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mikkilineni (actor), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santhanam. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

IMDB

[edit]

Hi. Please note that IMDB is not a reliable and should not used in citations. Would you remove all the citations you added? Thanks! — DaxServer (talk to me) 07:49, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. I can certainly remove any recent ones I added and will not add IMDB as part of my future references. Let me know if that works. Jagancj (talk) 15:34, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jagancj. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of Tennis Players who have reached atleast the semifinal stage in all the four grandslams".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 16:12, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

About your edit summaries

[edit]

Hi @Jagancj. I am @Archer1234. I have noticed your edits and really appreciate your efforts to add sourced information into Indian cinema filmographies. However, I would like to offer some constructive advice. The edits typically use an edit summary of UPDATED FILMOGRAPHY. As you are aware, editors are encouraged to provide a meaningful summary for every edit (see WP:FIES). However, one of the things that we are asked to avoid in an edit summary is:

  • Avoid vagueness. While edit summaries can be terse, they should still be specific. Providing an edit summary similar to "I made some changes" is functionally equivalent to not providing a summary at all.

I would classify your UPDATED FILMOGRAPHY edit summaries as being a bit too vague. It is more specific than having no edit summary, but is not very meaningful. Might I suggest that if you are adding an entry for a film to a list or table, just name the film. For example, for your recent edit to Rajasulochana:

+
1955 ''[[Cherapakura Chedevu]]''<ref>{{Cite web |title=Cherapakura Chedevu (1955) |url=https://indiancine.ma/HMQ |access-date=2024-01-07 |website=Indiancine.ma}}</ref> - Menaka

here are some possible edit summaries that would be more informative:

  • Added Cherapakura Chedevu to filmography
  • +Cherapakura Chedevu w/ref
  • 'Cherapakura Chedevu' as Menaka +ref

Those are just examples and you can come up with your own style, but I think these or similar ones set a good example for everyone else to follow.

When I am reviewing edits on my watchlist, I look to see who made the edit and what did they say in the edit summary. An editor with a history of good edits with informative edit summaries are ones I typically don't need to review. That way I can concentrate on reviewing other edits where I am less sure of the quality. If you have any questions, let me know. Thank you again for your edits. Happy editing.  — Archer (t·c) 11:36, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the advice. I will keep your suggestions in mind. Jagancj (talk) 18:02, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good job adding references with your edits. I just realised that otherwise they might have been reverted. DareshMohan (talk) 22:43, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Searching for references is the toughest job. If something is added without a reference then most likely it will get reverted. Jagancj (talk) 05:16, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help, Cross-check

[edit]

Can you re-add the missing films of Mallikarjuna Rao (actor) that were removed with sources? (Sorry if asking for too much) [1] [2] [3]. If an IP's factual edits are removed, when will it be added back? Hence your help is needed.

Can you confirm that Ravi Varma (actor) acted in Kulamma Gunamma (1991)?

P. S. Sorry for asking a lot. DareshMohan (talk) 09:01, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If I find any of Mallikarjuna Rao's films during my edits, I will add them in with references. Jagancj (talk) 10:01, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for linking Deepavali (2008 film). It now has an article! DareshMohan (talk) 23:29, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

That clip is not working. He's at the 35:45 mark. Jagancj (talk) 18:14, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is that him in blue [5]? He looks different clean shaven. DareshMohan (talk) 07:24, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that's him. He was mostly clean shaven during the later part of his career when he shifted to negative roles. Jagancj (talk) 08:00, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ranganath (actor)

[edit]

Hi @Jagancj. Was this edit an inadvertent mistake to remove the italics around the film Marana Homam?  — Archer1234 (t·c) 09:38, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Archer1234 It was on purpose. None of the movie titles were italicized on that page. So removed the italics on this title too for the sake of consistency. Jagancj (talk) 09:41, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All film titles should be italicized (see MOS:ITALICTITLE). It is okay if you don't have time to italicize each film title you come across that is not italicized, but it is definitely not constructive to go against the Manual of Style and remove italics from a film title, even for the sake of consistency. It just makes the task of italicizing later all that much harder.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 09:57, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Archer1234: I see, I have been adding entries to into the page but just went with the prevalent format of the page. Jagancj (talk) 12:29, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Roles

[edit]

Can you add the roles of Jose Prakash, Hema Sundar and Attili Lakshmi to Love in Singapore (1980)? It would make the article complete. DareshMohan (talk) 08:45, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And Orey Rikshaw roles. DareshMohan (talk) 07:29, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you check the role of Satyanarayana in Darling Darling (2001). He appears at the 1:35:08 mark [6]. Also, is that Vinod the same Vinod that was credited in Pandanti Samsaram? DareshMohan (talk) 07:04, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I saw the movie a while ago but couldn't make out the name of the character played by Satyanarayana. With regards to Vinod, I haven't seen Pandanti Samsaram movie to comment but here's a tribute page which can give you some info (https://www.tollywood.net/telugu-actor-vinod-passes-away/) Jagancj (talk) 10:19, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
is Ravi Teja named in Vande Mataram (2001), feel like all of the Citizen rights council members are unnnamed. DareshMohan (talk) 18:10, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you update the Telugu version names of Kaali? DareshMohan (talk) 08:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
