Image:Sergio640.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sergio640.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —LX (talk, contribs) 10:18, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Mscape_logo.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mscape_logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bleh999 08:59, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

I have tagged Image:Flossweekly.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Notability of FLOSS Weekly
A tag has been placed on FLOSS Weekly, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Videmus Omnia 07:55, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Halozero.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Halozero.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Spam in Ultima V: Lazarus
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ultima V: Lazarus, by JohnnyMrNinja (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ultima V: Lazarus is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ultima V: Lazarus, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 16:55, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Soler Rollback
Hello,
There are multiple reliable sources (largest Belgian newspaper, French Police Nationale, Eurosport) that name Mauricio Soler as having failed the control at the end of stage 17. Can you explain the rollback? 'ppreciate it.Bdegroodt 00:00, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- The sources, including the one you linked to are just speculation at this point. The source states "Het gerucht dat Soler positief zou zijn...", which indicates that this is little more than rumour at this point. Looking at the article history, the WP:BLP concerns had been raised numerous times so I reverted. I guess I should not just have used the rollback feature and edited using an edit summary which explained that the source provided are speculative at this point. Sorry if you were offended by my use of rollback. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-07-28 00:07

Vraagje
Help with template for WP:HALO
I noticed you've edited the {{Cvgproj}} template substantially, so I was wondering if you could help me. I'm trying to replace {{HaloWikiProject}} with a more advanced version, like the cvg template, which has fields for priority, as well as (or most importantly) for a to-do area for coordinating across the Wikiproject. I've tried taking pieces from the Cvg template, but my understanding of complex syntax leaves something to be desired... can you help? Sincerily, David Fuchs (talk) 18:06, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Image source problem with Image:Balls of steel logo.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Balls of steel logo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Why did you unprotect
the stephen colbert page? It just seems that it will get vadalised like 877475347543x's more because I.P's can vadalis it. competly soryy if there was a disscusion(ForeverDEAD 01:10, 15 September 2007 (UTC))
- I unprotected the page because it is not Wikpedia policy to permanently protect pages. Just because there is vandalism does not mean we should protect a page. Only when the vandalism becomes unmanageable should we protect. If it turns out the article cannot be maintained without protection (like the George W. Bush article), then protection will be restored. JACOPLANE • 2007-09-15 01:40
- reasonable enough, but i think with his popularity and always trying to get wikipedia vadalised and changing facts about himself, it will most likely have to be re protected in a short while IMHO(ForeverDEAD 01:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC))

I added what I thought was an adequate one when I uploaded it a while ago but the 'copyright police' seem to change their idea of what constitutes an acceptable rationale whenever it suits them and I don't have the time (nor energy!) to go back and revise all the excerpts I have uploaded over the past few years. Why not use the pink cover that rcamusic.fr uses? At least till a more album cover-ish cover image surfaces. --soum talk 11:27, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for going with my suggestion. :) --soum talk 13:30, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Joi Ito
Hi. Google Scholar and Google Books have some sources handy. Would you like to have them added to the article itself or to your temp page? Or should I wait? Whatever you say. -Susanlesch 00:42, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Go ahead and add them to the article. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-09-29 00:43
- OK one done. I can check back tomorrow. Good luck, hard to resist such a wonderful subject. -Susanlesch 01:07, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, Jacoplane, the "Family and education" is cited. The Ericsson, Fisher and Rheingold references look like they will help a lot. I will bow out now I hope to work on Jeannette Piccard. Thank you for letting me add some. -Susanlesch 14:01, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use image problems
I notice you have uploaded the image Image:Sergio640.jpg with the {{current tag name}} fair use image tag. However, this tag seems unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Sergio640.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Sergio640.jpg can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{current tag name}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Dantadd 02:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Petr Cech pic
I noticed that you recently re-added this pic under the caption of Petr Cech warming up. Well, I can tell you that that is not a picture of Petr warming up, but of his teammate, Carlo Cudicini. I recognize the color of his boots, the gloves, the face, and hairstyle from the get-go as the two men do not look like one another at all (look at the first three pics of him in Cech's article and compare each one of them to that pic...you'll see the difference right away). I took out the pic before from the article for that very reason, as it was misidentified and attributed as such.
I'm sorry if that might be why you put the image up again in the first place, but I just wanted to point it out to you in a friendly way (and explain why I did what I did).
My only suggestion is that you could try to put the image in the right article (i.e. change the title so that it has Carlo Cudicini on the file name) rather than keeping it there as someone might have the wrong idea as to who is in that pic. ;) Miss kat 06:26, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Possible sourcing problem with Image:Capcom logo.gif
(This is an automated message from a robot.)
Hello, I am an automated process which tries to help Wikipedia stay clear of images which may violate copyright laws by applying the Wikipedia Community's fair-use rules.
I noticed that you uploaded or modified Image:Capcom logo.gif, an image for which I could not determine whether or not it has a valid source. Uploaded images must specify where they came from, in order that others may confirm the copyrighted status, or lack thereof, of those images. If you did not create this image yourself, the owner of the copyright needs to be identified in the image page. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with an explanation of that website's terms of use for its content, is usually sufficient. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
If I have made a mistake and simply wasn't able to read the copyright information you've already included (bots like me have trouble reading certain types of data), I apologize for cluttering up your talkpage. If you would like to leave any feedback that might make this bot better, please contact my owner. Thank you. OsamaK 15:19, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
