Advertising
[edit]I have removed this section of the page, as it is uncited and appears to have just been made up. Feel free to put it back if there is a source for this. Note that it is also fairly opinionated, so needs to be edited. —EatMyShortz (talk) 10:40, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Leo Laporte has turned down many offers from advertisers, due to the nature of their business. He only accepts sponsors in which he feels do not have a conflict of interest with his show. By not allowing sponsors, for which his topics may delve into, the sanctity, transparency, and quality of the content remains pure and uninfluenced.
- I agree that this does not accurately represent the position that Leo and I have about advertisers. Audible (Leo's primary sponsor for many other twit shows) is unsuitable for FLOSS Weekly because of the DRM on Audible's products. But we'd certainly be open to sponsorship of any other appropriate nature. But in truth, I don't think our position on advertisers is very encyclopedic, so it's fine with me if the issue doesn't reappear on the main page. --Randal L. Schwartz (talk) 18:50, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- By the way, I removed this unsourced statement again. Please don't reintroduce it without a source. It's definitely not in line with what I know, and I would know. :) --Randal L. Schwartz (talk) 19:28, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Seperate page for list of shows?
[edit]It seems to me that there's an awful lot of extra information that people don't need to see just to find out about FLOSS Weekly. I don't know if there are any wiki conventions that specify when this is appropriate though.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.252.153.215 (talk • contribs)
The guidelines are Wikipedia:Summary style and Wikipedia:Article size. I might try making it collapsible before spawning a separate page. --Dbratland (talk) 00:18, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
External link suggestion
[edit]I suggest linking the text "Adam Monsen" to http://adammonsen.com (my personal blog and home page). I would have done this myself, but I noticed that none of the other names link to external Web sites so I wasn't sure if this was an acceptable change. Meonkeys (talk) 19:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to 2 external links on FLOSS Weekly. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Attempted to fix sourcing for http://twit.tv/

Links to show guests in subsidiary page
[edit]An editor just scrapped a decade of volunteer editors' work accumulating pointers to show guests. I have added a comment about it on the page concerned at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_FLOSS_Weekly_episodes#Links_to_show_guests ClareTheSharer (talk) 14:25, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
BLAR
[edit]I've WP:BLARed the List of FLOSS Weekly episodes because I don't think it passes WP:NLIST. If you disagree with my assessment feel free to revert my edit. TipsyElephant (talk) 16:54, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
