The article Tom Pincus has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — InsertCleverPhraseHere (or here) 09:15, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to George Merrick (rugby union). I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! [edit]Please do not use thumbnails inside of infoboxes as you did to Perry Humphreys. Note that this is your second warning regarding this issue. Continuing to add thumbnails will be seen as disruptive editing. For more information please see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE. When adding an image, instead of doing:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
You can simply supply the name of the image. So in this case just do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
Thanks! Can you please add its sources? It is a biography of a living person and so it needs WP:INLINECITED, clear, sources. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 19:32, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
I am still in the process of adding the link.WP:SIG

ArbCom 2017 election voter message
[edit]Hello, Jack86mkII. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
The article Luke Hannant has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GiantSnowman 21:42, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
The player has just been transferred into a professional team (Port Vale) I have left 3 references and looked up all the information on where he started playing etc.. Wouldn't it be easier if the issue is outlined in direct clarity. Instead of some vague rules. The idea is that players who play in the professional league should have representation on Wikipedia. Unless that is you want to simply miss people out. Jack86mkII 15:54, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Nomination of Luke Hannant for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Luke Hannant is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Luke Hannant until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. GiantSnowman 13:45, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Still no specific mention of the rule broken. I could point to several shoddy pages on wikipedia with no references.
User talk:Jack86mkII 14:56, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- You found other articles that had problem, doesn't mean you article with the same problem had an immune. Matthew_hk tc 15:03, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
So like I said, please point out the SPECIFIC ISSUE. Since I provided references for pretty much everything on the page. Let me use a parable to describe things a little clearer. In a law court a person in the dock cannot be convicted based on the number of the law he/she may have broken. The prosecuting lawyer needs to find the right words and the evidence to back it up before a jury decides whether it is right or wrong.
If it makes you feel better delete the article. But it will only need to be made again at some point. User talk:Jack86mkII 15:07, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Please read WP:GNG and WP:NSPORT as stated. Just no need to explain if there is a full length policy page. Matthew_hk tc 15:12, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
I read them and do not believe I am in breach of any of those rules. So the ball is in your court. If you cannot give an example of what specific rule I broke then you are deleting the article based on your own personal predjudices. User talk:Jack86mkII 15:16, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- He did not actually play ANY PROFESSIONAL GAME in professional league (as defined in Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues) Don't be stubborn and please provide your rebuttal with actual reliable secondary source. Matthew_hk tc 15:18, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Finally we are getting somewhere. Well then he is now registered to Port Vale, who are a professional team playing in League Two. I am not 'being stubborn'. Go to Port Vale football club's website, under news, he is a new signing. If you would insist on waiting till he plays a match then ok but I think it is being a little pedantic. Is it not useful to have people expanding Wikipedia for free. User:jack86mkII15:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Had a contract did not mean he is a professional footballer (in the sense of wikipedia policy), until he made his actual competitive debut in a fully professional league (such as League Two), he is a non-notable footballer. You certainly did not read the policy page carefully. Matthew_hk tc 15:28, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
saying I did not read the rules is a presumption. I did read them and I realised Hannant is a professional footballer contracted to Port Vale. I pushed you to be specific because you were hiding behind a block of ambigous text and I wanted you to be clearer. At any rate you are wrong again since Gateshead are a professional team (see top line):https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateshead_F.C. Here is one of many sources (http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=94457) that shows he has played many times for Gateshead.User:jack86mkII15:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
I am arguing my case, nothing more. I don't really see what benefit there is to deleting the page and I believe I have proved the argument to be wrong. BUT.. if you want to delete it go ahead. The player looks pretty talented and I think he may end up above League Two at some point. The only thing I can think of is perhaps Wikipedia wanting to control it's database. Which by the way is perfectly noble. It is a free service and I know myself how much hosting can cost. User:jack86mkII16:03, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- The league Gateshead was played (when Hannant was a Gateshead player) was not in the list of Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues. Matthew_hk tc 16:06, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Gateshead consider themselves a professional team and to qualify as professional you have to have full time players which they do. So if it only counts when it is League Two then it is highly likely at this time tomorrow he will qualify: http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/luke-hannant-determined-seize-chance-1084923, From the article: ″He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Accrington Stanley and believes he can adjust quickly to the pace of the game in League Two.″ 16:19, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Why not just suspend the player till tomorrow then. I had a look on Non-League sides and generally you are right in your assertion. So yes I see where you are coming from. Perhaps a little bit premature on my part (if two days can count). thankyou. User:jack86mkII16:28, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jared Saunders, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page London Scottish (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

GiantSnowman 09:00, 9 July 2018 (UTC) I was actually updating the player's appearences and goals. The changes I made were 100% accurate. So why is this a problem? Please explain. To claim this is vandalism is absurd and an abuse of power. Stats here. I want a reason for this action. If you cannot give one then this is tantamount to totalitarian Wikipedia. I apologise if there is a legitimate reason. But having read the section on vandalism I don't see how that applies when I was actually adding to the accuracy of the player's career: http://www.blythspartans.com/player/jarrett-rivers/User:Jack86mkIIUser talk:Jack86mkII 10:06, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Infobox timestamps
[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.
You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update=
or |pcupdate=
parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update=
or |ntupdate=
parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 23:37, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
I had spotted the Folivi one, it was just laziness. I will make sure I update the 'last updated' part. Cheers, Jack86mkII 00:07, 27 March 2019 (GMT)
