Recent DPL addition to Oliver Hill

Hi!

I recently created a disambiguation page for the name 'Oliver Hill'. I went to change the links that directed to the old page (a name page). There are likely over 200+ pages directing to the old page, but they (mostly) source from one template: Template:Civil_rights_movement. I updated this template yesterday with the new link 'Oliver Hill' --> Oliver Hill (attorney), but the links continue to stay. Any thoughts? I imagine either the template change is being reviewed or, because of the high number of links, it is taking quite a while for the template to update. DPL Bot: Thank you!

Your bot recently left a disambiguation link notification on my talk page. This message was helpful for me. I appreciate that you wrote this bot. :) 'wɪnd (talk) 09:22, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi. I recently made an edit to Sente Technologies. This link was tagged for linking to the disambiguation page for Cashbox when it instead linked directly to Cashbox magazine article. False poistive or did I miss something? Thank you. Lando242 (talk) 02:12, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Court Uniform and Dress

The article on William L. Marcy said that, as United States Secretary of State, he urged that American diplomats should dress as simple American citizens, rather than donning court dress with its gold embroidery and all, as was the custom at European courts. I created a link to Court uniform and dress. This is now a disambiguation page leading to the uniforms of the British, Japanese, and Ottoman courts, but has a heading saying that it should be a substantive, in fact broad concept article. Does the owner of the bot believe that this link is wrong? I am open to persuasion. J S Ayer (talk) 14:01, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Administrative permissions and inactivity reminder

Information iconThis is a reminder that established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period. You are receiving this annual reminder since you have averaged less than 50 edits per year over the last 5 years.

Inactive administrators are encouraged to reengage with the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to be engaged with the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.

Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:33, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on That '70s Album (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi JaGa. I may be misremembering but I thought DPL bot should remove the incoming links template when the number of links falls below a threshold? If you look in Category:Disambiguation pages with many incoming links there are non empty categories going back months. I was looking at few articles in the October category and they all had no incoming links. Could you check it out? Thanks. Tassedethe (talk) 18:20, 29 January 2023 (UTC)

Question

Hi, please how can I identify the DABlink in templates with disambiguation links? Thank you in anticipation of your response. Young Lecturer (talk) 01:57, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Probably the easiest way is to go to Preferences > Gadgets > Appearance and check "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange". --R'n'B (call me Russ) 21:25, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Notice

The article Eli Jaxon-Bear has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This appears to be a promotional page of a self-published writer and self-proclaimed spiritual teacher, sourced mostly to the website of the subject's organization and the subject's own books. The publisher, "New Morning Associates, Incorporated", is not a general publisher, but publishes only books by the subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

User:DPL bot

If there a way to check if I fixed the "this page links to too many redirects" problem that User:DPL bot identified? I'm not sure if I changed enough things or the right things. MWQs (talk) 18:49, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) The bot will remove the template in a few hours if it has been fixed. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:55, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
One of them got removed, but I'm stumped on this one. It's there an efficient way to search rather than coving on every link? I've got rid of a few. MWQs (talk) 05:49, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
What's "this one"? There's no link. You can use tools like User:Anomie/linkclassifier to highlight links to disambiguation pages. * Pppery * it has begun... 14:30, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
Weired, not sure how that happened. Maybe I just forgot. The page I was trying to ask about seems to have the notice removed now.
I'm not sure if I know what I'm doing here… Creating User:MWQs/vector-2022.js? … but I'll try that tool.… that was easier than I thought, and seems to be working, thanks 😊 MWQs (talk) 12:04, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
Sorry that message is a bit disjointed? I was sort of taking notes on what I did incase I had a question. But it seems to be working fine. Thanks again for the tip. MWQs (talk) 12:07, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

Zagreb Cathedral

Hello, my name is Mateo, and I am making a complete improved page with images and additional information for Zagreb's Cathedral as I am from Zagreb and I am studying about Croatian History and Culture, therefore Zagreb Cathedral needed to be updated for new standards. I got a notification about some DPL bots (I think) and I fixed everything (again, I think I did). Can you make sure that I didn't leave anything behind and even if I did, would you be able to fix that? Also I have been updating and researching and googling and making this page for 27 hours, I don't want it to be deleted, so if there's anything you can help me with NOT getting it removed or deleted, please help. Thanks SatelitteChange 13:19, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Bot question

Where does the DPL bot get its list of disambiguation pages from? Does the list lag behind? I changed Inuktut from a disambiguation to an article. Two hours later the bot notified me. Anyway the bot is still doing good work and I still appreciate the notifications CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:06, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
