Authorship of the song Dahil Sa Iyo

It was Miguel Mike Velarde who composed the song "Dahil Sa Iyo". Please do a little more research on the subject before reverting or editing the article. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.200.56.28 (talk) 16:35, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

On Dahil Sa Iyo

Could you please thoroughly read the revisions made by "Manuscriptman" before reverting to the old version of the article which states that the song was composed by Tom Spinosa during the 1950s (this allegation can not be verified because it is undocumented and the link provided in the old version to the alleged source of information is nowhere to be found). Prof. Helen Samson, in his book "Contemporary Filipino Composers" (Manila:Manlapaz Publishing Co., 2004) ISBN 97154-6010-0 states the fact that "Dahil Sa Iyo" was composed by Miguel "Mike" Velarde in 1938 for the Sampaguita film "Bituing Marikit". This fact is also verified by the CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art Volume VI (Manila :Cultural Center of the Philippines, 1994)ISBN 971-8546-29-4. From this two reliable sources the name Tom Spinosa was never mentioned as the composer of "Dahil Sa Iyo". Let me remind you what Wikipedia states regarding the posting of articles: "Articles should be based upon reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy". Please note that every time you revert the article to the old version, you are doing the exact opposite and putting the reliability of Wikipedia at stake . You should be more careful with your actions. Thank you. "112.200.56.28 (talk) 17:13, 13 November 2009 (UTC)"

Hi. I have declined your speedy on this article, because it is not patent nonsense - it's a rather technical botanical description. The definition of WP:CSD#G1 is quite narrowly drawn - "Pages consisting entirely of incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history" - and it's only intended for 08&kj#@22===7@! and the like. If you are going to do New Page Patrol (which is a very good and useful thing to do, and needs all the eyes it can get) it's important to read WP:CSD carefully. There is good advice for speedy-deleters from an experienced admin at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:37, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

thanks John. In fact, I don't know what CSD would fit the article.--JL 09 q?c 12:07, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi I've just declined a speedy on WEC 10 as it isn't really incoherent text, it looks to me that it is some sort of sporting event. If the CSD criteria don't fit an article but you are confident that it can't be salvaged then its better to prod or AFD it, and if you aren't confident that it doesn't belong sometimes adding a link or a category will help the author explain what it is or someone else to salvage it or identify it as something that definitely doesn't belong. Speedy declined

Hello, next time you want to tag an article it might be wise to make sure that the creator isn't an important member of the community. KeynoteTest was created by a Systems Administrator of Wikimedia, as could have been seen by looking at his user page. Please watch your tagging, --Coffee // have a cup // ark // 07:54, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw it on the history page. Since I can't decline speedies, I don;t know what to do. Thanks.,--JL 09 q?c 13:15, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, whilst only admins can delete speedies, anyone but the article author can remove or change a speedy if it was incorrect. ϢereSpielChequers 22:53, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I did not delete the article. I just redirected it to anothe article because there are 2 articles for StarStruck 5, the one I redirected it to is StarStruck (season 5) -- which has the proper title format: the 2nd "s" in StarStruck is in capital, and the "s" in season sould be in a lower case format. ---- ISWAK3 (talk) 08.15, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Encantandia

Thanks for your catching this and the humanx fan driven articles. i just noticed that this tv show article had practically no references either, which is telling, and ive commented at the AFD and at 2 of the main tv show articles. by the way, i notice you have some other philippines related articles mentioned here. have you heard of "the conjugal dictatorship" book by Primitivo Mijares? i just saw a copy of it, it fascinated me, and wonder if this author is still remembered? i myself was only barely aware of the marcos regime, and i was somewhat younger than most people who become politically aware. would this book be considered a reliable source? would someone researching the philippines want it? cause i could get it if i go back to the store that had it.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 03:05, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
