Redirecting categories

When you move a category, it would be helpful to include a redirect as part of the process. When you fail to, you render many links to that category redlinks when they had been blue. (I am not sure why it was necessary to change the page name at all). MargaretRDonald (talk) 21:23, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

It is intentional to not have redirects by default per Wikipedia talk:Categories for discussion/Working/Archive 3#Redirect handling when moving. The handling admin should be updating links per Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Administrator instructions#Implementing a rename, merge or delete. — JJMC89 01:54, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi JJMC89. Would you mind taking a look at File:Engine House No. 8 Robinson.jpg? I'm not sure if it's use in Engine House No. 8 (Columbus, Ohio)#History is justified per WP:NFC#CS. Even if it is, I'm not sure the file at its current size meet WP:NFCC#3b. The file's non-free use might be justifiable in Aminah Robinson as a representative example of her artwork, but there's currently nothing at all about the work anywhere in that article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:04, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Creating category redirects

Please could you tweak the process where the REDIRECT code is used on WP:CFD/W for renaming or merging, appending the parameter |keep=yes inside the braces of {{category redirect}}? – Fayenatic London 17:35, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

Problem with a userbox

I noticed that the userbox saying you signed a confidentiality agreement links to m:Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information, which is a soft redirect to wmf:Legal:Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information, and m:Access to nonpublic personal data policy, which is a soft redirect to wmf:Policy:Access to nonpublic personal data policy .
