Tukohtene Falls moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Tukohtene Falls, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 01:04, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Tukohtene Falls
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Tukohtene Falls requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. TartarTorte 01:06, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- JFox 0931, I removed the CSD tag as you added context to it. TartarTorte 02:22, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
Note: It is now proposed for deletion instead. VickKiang (talk) 03:16, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Notability
[edit]Could you have a look at WP:Notability? It seems that you keep creating articles of questionable significance, with no refs or content that is encyclopedic. Reading this page will help in my opinion, as I will, unfortunately, have to nominate your articles for deletion otherwise. If you have questions, you can consult The Teahouse, where an editor with much more experience than me could help, or possibly discuss whether an article is needed in your WikiProject (if you join one) prior to creation. Many thanks. VickKiang (talk) 04:31, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Stoney Creek (Delaware River tributary in Delaware), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bellevue State Park. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. I also noticed that you created numerous unnecessary articles, they will likely be deleted and will advise that you please refrain, if you continue posting original research, I will issue a sterner warning. VickKiang (talk) 22:05, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Stoney Creek (Delaware). Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. VickKiang (talk) 05:35, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
I assure you it is all true if you were to do any research yourself you would find that all the places and things that I have listed are true. There are not many sources on these places because they are small but does that make them insignificant. I know these places exist. It might be good to look at a map. Especially a watersheds and topographic map of the areas. You can also look at to coordinates of where the photographs were takes and you can determine that these places are real. JFox 0931 (talk) 06:31, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
It might be useful to visit these places to find out if they are real I can provide locations and directions the them all if you would like to do some research yourself. JFox 0931 (talk) 06:37, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
It seems that you may not understand the notability guideline yet, both for creating and editing articles, and we could possibly have a misconception. I certainly believe that your locations are true, but your comments are IMO wrong. If you think your articles are significant then that is likely mistaken (although I am pretty new to AfD, the current responses concur with the insignificance). If you insist on creating those minor, trivial creeks based on the databases and maps that you said that I should look into "the coordinates of where the photographs were taken", do you believe that all of the creeks, parks and other minor geographical locations worldwide should deserve an article? You said that "you know these place exist", which is indubitably true, but your articles always consist of original research that the refs provided do not indicate (unless you could give reliable sources, otherwise I could not conclude on those statements technically). Further, if those are valid, they would not be of interest to readers as it is too detailed. Again, I am not asserting that your editing is deliberately falsifying information, only that it does not adhere to the guideline. I would advise you to have a look at the AfD comments and WP: Notability before starting the next article, or it will still be deleted. A more experienced editor could potentially offer you more thorough advice. Many thanks. VickKiang (talk) 07:34, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
Also, the advice that "It might be useful to visit these places" seem impractical to most editors, since if no actual significant coverage could be found on that information except on maps or actually going to those places, then the notability is dubious (i.e., you can find numerous streets on the maps, but should those been always mentioned)? For instance, I could not find extremely intricate information on the course for numerous prominent rivers on the WP article, such as the Amazon one.
Finally, could you explain your subjective opinions on the articles, which could not be neutral (could you provide a source for "small but influential for the wildlife around it" or "It is located in a mostly suburban area but is very clean")? If you have any other questions, you could also post at The Teahouse. Thanks for your time, advice and happy editing! VickKiang (talk) 07:42, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
I think some people have misconceptions about the nature around them. When I say it is clean I mean it doesn’t have lots of trash and other pollutants visible to the eye. I also like to know about the nature around me. With these articles I am only getting more knowledge out there. I suppose I should take a look at the guidelines but these are the only articles I intend to create and edit at the moment. I was hoping only to get more information out there about these places. - Hi this article is small and to someone far away it may seem worthless but to the community around Forwood preserve the more information about it that is out there the better because we are trying to make it a park and by attaching it to Stony Creeks Wikipedia page more people in the area can know about it. It is also important to just get information out there about public places. JFox 0931 (talk) 22:38, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, JFox 0931,
- Since this article was deleted via an Articles for Deletion discussion, any recreation of this article in main space of the project will lead to speedy deletion, CSD G4. I see you have started a draft version and that is the appropriate action to take. The only way I know to overcome an AFD "Delete" decision is to work on a draft version, addresing the problems brought up during the AFD, and submitting it for review to an AFC reviewer to get the draft approved.
- If you have questions about article creation or Wikipedia deletion policies, please bring them to the Teahouse. Good luck! Liz Read! Talk! 00:03, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
