User talk:JF Lepage/Archive 1
Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. Just a quick note for you about category links: the pipetext after the category name () should actually be the article title, not the repeated category name — in this case, it should say , not . What that text does is to determine how the article sorts alphabetically in the category list — so on a biographical article, you would type the person's name, but with the surname first and the given name last.
On the other hand, on an article like Rimouski, Quebec, where the first word of the title is already the article's correct alphabetical sortation, you don't have to include the pipe text at all. But if an article title begins with "The" or "Le/La/Les", you would also use pipetext (e.g. , ).
Also, just so you know, the Wikipedia software doesn't sort accented characters correctly, so when a title has an accent in it, type the title without an accent in the pipetext — it still appears correctly; this is just a workaround because it sorts wrong otherwise.
Hope that helps a bit, and welcome again. Bearcat 21:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Poumon = lung
[edit]Bonjour et bienvenue encore à Wikipedia! The caption for your photo of the Rimouski park doesn't translate well... "A true lung" is an odd construct in English, and I don't think conveys what you're trying to say.
Perhaps "A true oasis of greenery" might work better? CMacMillan 04:59, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- My pleasure! I was born in Campbellton so I like to see the towns I grew up in on Wikipedia. Of course, my view of Rimouski was always from the window of the train on the way to Montreal or Toronto. I can't add to the knowledge of Rimouski, but I'd be happy to edit the language in the English version. CMacMillan
Portal - New France
[edit]No problem. If you need any help (and I know how busy Life can be and stuff) simply let me know. Your English is better than my Francais! Remember, I construct Portals...I work on a consesus basis, so I do the work and then let you see it, to make sure you're happy. I respect other peoples ideas and hard work! My philosophy is to fit in and not trend on other peoples work! Take care and have a good weekend. Wiki User 68 Blah Stuff 04:44, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

You're invited!
[edit]Hello, JF Lepage,
You are invited meet with your fellow Wikipedians by attending the Montréal meetup scheduled on Sunday, June 27, 2010; between 1500 - 1700 to be held at the Comité Social Centre Sud (CSCS), located at 1710 Beaudry, in Montréal. You can sign up at the meetup page.
The meetup is happening in concurrence with RoCoCo 2010, a free, bilingual, weekend unconference including many people involved with Wikis both within the Wikipedia/Wikimedia Community and abroad. You do not need to attend the conference to sign up for the Wikimeetup, but you are certainly welcome! Bastique ☎ call me!
(PS: Please share this with those you know who might not be on the delivery list, i.e. Users in Montreal/Quebec)

I noticed you are a participant of the WikiProject Quebec.
The Outline of Quebec was created a few days ago and is under vigorous development. It fills a gap in Wikipedia's set of outlines. It is the 3rd outline to date about a Canadian province/territory.
- Wikipedia Contents
- Outlines
- Outline of geography
- Outline of North America
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of Alberta
- Outline of British Columbia
- Outline of Manitoba
- Outline of New Brunswick
- Outline of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Outline of Nova Scotia
- Outline of Ontario
- Outline of Quebec
- Outline of Prince Edward Island
- Outline of Saskatchewan
- Outline of the Northwest Territories
- Outline of Nunavut
- Outline of Yukon
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of North America
- Outline of geography
- Outlines
Outlines form one of the subsystems of Wikipedia's contents navigation system. For more information on outlines, see Wikipedia:Outlines and Wikipedia:WikiProject Outlines.
The goals for the Outline of Quebec is to complete it to as high a standard of quality as possible, and to make it even better than the Outline of Saskatchewan and the Outline of British Columbia.
Once the Outline of Quebec is completed, it will provide an important example to others creating outlines for the remaining provinces and territories of Canada.
Please take a look at the outline to see if you can notice (and fill in) any missing topics. Pictures would also be nice (the rarer and the more interesting, the better).
Thank you.
Sincerely, The Transhumanist 10:29, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
