Your submission at Articles for creation: Hurricane Isaac (2024) (October 7)
[edit]- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Hurricane Isaac (2024) and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.

Hi there, just a heads up, but Isaac probably doesn't need an article, since it barely affected anyone. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:45, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- If it ended up being a good draft would it be accepted anyways or just declined because it wasn’t as important JAFactsDude (talk) 16:47, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- If it gets accepted, there's a very good chance it would end up getting merged eventually. Every storm is notable enough to be on Wikipedia, that's why we have the season articles. But if there isn't a lot of additional content than what's already in the storm section, then it'll probably get merged. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:51, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
Welcome to the tropical cyclone WikiProject!
[edit]Hey there, I saw you decided to join the WPTC. Welcome! I see you worked on storms from this year, such as Isaac, so I'm guessing you're most interested in Atlantic storms? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:52, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- hi! Yes, I love tracking tropical cyclones. I track the Atlantic the most, and EPAC the second most. Sometimes I’ll track the WPAC and I’ll almost never track any other basins. JAFactsDude (talk) 18:54, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, there's plenty to worry about just with the Atlantic and Pacific! I'm guessing you prefer more modern storms. What aspect of editing are you most interested in? Fixing vandalism or typos? Or perhaps writing/expanding articles? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:59, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not sure, I’m interested in things like weather, maps, history, geography, etc JAFactsDude (talk) 19:01, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- If you're interested in history, then there are a lot of interesting articles that you might want to check out. For example, List of Category 5 Atlantic hurricanes, but also List of Category 4 Atlantic hurricanes, and Cat 3, and so on. You might notice that not all of the articles look the same. The first one, for Category 5's, is a featured list. It is properly cited and has all of the info that you would expect, such as the impacts and the landfalls. In the Category 4 list, there is the landfall table, but no mention of impacts. So, that could be a project for example, helping improve that. Or, if you're more interested in storms in a particular area, there are articles like List of California hurricanes, List of Florida hurricanes, and List of North Carolina hurricanes. You might notice that they're all featured, but if you click on the Florida one, then you might see that the most recent list - List of Florida hurricanes (2000–present) - is not featured. It was featured at one point, but the more recent storms weren't getting properly cited, so the article fell behind. These are just a few examples, and I don't want to force you to do anything. The best part about Wikipedia is that it's totally volunteer based, and you can do things at your own pace! Lemme know if you have questions. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:05, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Redlinks
[edit]Hi, JAFactsDude! I have been watching your edits for a bit and I have noticed that you have removed a lot of my redlinks. Specifically, I have reverted this edit. Please note that redlinks are only to be removed if the subject of the redlink is unencyclopedic. Punta Castilla and Bermejo River are likely to be notable due to the low requirements at WP:NGEO. NEMO is likely to be encyclopedic too as it is a national governmental agency. Thanks, ✶Quxyz✶ 03:03, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
