Speedy deletion nomination of Raappana (musician)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Raappana (musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 23:52, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

The article Solifer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The article fails notability requirement for companies, see WP:COMPANY - lack of coverage by mainstream sources
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - @Zackmann08: If I recall correctly (as I didn't get enough time to take a look at it before it was *speedily* deleted in 30 minutes), I created that template as a sort of disambiguation page for the templates Template:Elonet name and Template:Elonet title; in the same vein as the template Template:IMDb was created for the templates Template:IMDb name and Template:IMDb title. --JAAqqO (talk) 12:58, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Castro District, SF added to WikiProject Finland
[edit]Hi, I noticed you added the Castro District to the Finland project. I have mentioned within the talk page that I see no reason for so much of the page to be dedicated to general Finnish immigrant history, and as a result don't really understand why the page should be part of the Finnish project at all. After review of the subject I still believe that most of the Finnish and Finland related material should be removed. I am looking to see your opinion as to how Finnish the page should be. Jopplk (talk) 18:55, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! I tagged that article with the WikiProject Finland (WPF) tag because 1) it was in the category Finnish-American culture in California and, more importantly, 2) CTRL+F found more than 50 matches for the keywords Finnish/Finns/Finland revealing large chunks of text related to Finns/Finland. But now that I took a closer look at the article, I agree that there is a lot of irrelevant information in it and I also agree that the unrelated content should be either moved elsewhere or removed.
- As for the question of whether that article should be tagged with the WPF tag at all; I'm not sure, but probably not. Technically, the article falls within the scope1 of the project. Maybe if someday User:*Someone else* decides to heavily edit that article, I could take another look. But I don't mind at all if you or someone else removes the tag from the article.
- 1 Semi-unrelated pondering: Here is a quote from the project page: "
The scope of this project is all articles which fall in the Category:Finland.
" Now, I have never added any articles to that project solely based on that guideline and, in my opinion, no one should do that, because then—because of how our categorization system works—the project would start to overflow with topics almost entirely unrelated to Finland, Finns or the Finnish language. So, WPF members probably don't want every single article in categories like Expatriate men's footballers in Finland, Films directed by Renny Harlin, Number-one singles in Finland, Shipwrecks in the Gulf of Finland and Treaties of Finland to be tagged even though they are all in Category:Finland. --JAAqqO (talk) 13:27, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
