[edit]Hello Ipsitanayak80. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Ipsitanayak80. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Ipsitanayak80|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 11:06, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello.
- I am not being paid for any activity on Wikipedia. I am interested in building the page for our company Chairman, Dr Ganesh Natarajan. If you would like for details about me or my work, I will be happy to share the same.
- Regards

- Under our rules, if you are editing for your company, that is considered paid editing. Declaring this is a Terms of Use requirement and not negotiable. Furthermore, you identify yourself as a "Digital Marketer and Content Writer" which means that you could be editing about clients. 331dot (talk) 11:14, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- How do i provide the details you are requesting? Please help Ipsitanayak80 (talk) 11:16, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- The first post I made above provides instructions; more detailed instructions and the entire policy may be found at WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 11:17, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- I have added the details as suggested by you. Hope it suffices Ipsitanayak80 (talk) 11:21, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- That is sufficient with regards to editing about your company or your company Chairman. Thank you. If you intend to edit about clients, you must make that declaration for each client that you edit about(this is the case even if you have not been specifically asked to edit). You will also need to make edits pursuant to the conflict of interest policy- you shouldn't directly edit about your company or clients, but you may make edit requests(click for instructions) and you may submit draft articles via Articles for Creationj. Paid editing is within the rules as long as it is disclosed and you are as open as possible. 331dot (talk) 11:25, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
