RfC-hiccup
[edit]There's some trouble at the RfC talkpage. Two users have voiced concerns that the RfC has in fact not met the two-person threshold and should be deleted. Do you think you could consider signing despite the fact. I don't think your neutrality would be damaged by it, since the point seems to be to simply sign in the right place and having participated in trying to solve the dispute.

Vandal man
[edit]I wouldnt have done it if you didn't have that counter. Atleast I was a bit crative in doing this rather than putting in insults and curse words.
Well, I guess I should have double checked the images to make sure they worked properly. But the counter is a bit of an invite to vandals to come in and do something. One can try to have a little fun with it once in a while though. --80.62.170.94 16:33, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
- Creative vandalism is still only vandalism. Inter\Echo 19:29, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
- Semi true. The counter invites it and is almost an honor symbol. There are two things that, from personal restraint, let me do that. The counter its self and the fact you didn't get rid of the Pi symbol after one hack, and the ease of reverting it back to another version. I would have kept the respect of -not- doing that if you had not wrote in that note of vandlism and the counter. I would not have done it if it were not so easy to undo it. Sorry about the picture btw, I removed all the '.'s out of the article and needed to repair the pictures, thought there was a period in every space of your wiki stress pict.
- Back onto the honor symbol, don't you ever laugh about being hacked so many times? As a rating of popularity?
- I could protect my user page, which I probably have to do at some point, but that is not in the spirit of Wikipedia. Inter\Echo 11:18, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
- Back onto the honor symbol, don't you ever laugh about being hacked so many times? As a rating of popularity?
- You could do that, true, but maybe the wisest and most effective thing to do is to take the counter down. It is like waiving a carrot infront of users to actually do it. So you are sending mixed messages here. On the one hand, there is a bit of fun that some users get the impression that you share in because of the carrot, then this discussion is the other hand where you give a negitive signal.
- Why didn't you take the pi sign down btw if it was another user who put it up?
- I like pi. Inter\Echo 17:25, 17 May 2005 (UTC)

Deleted the Artimius info in whistle register
[edit]Feel free to add the info back if it is true. But the only proven example of a man singing in whistle register is Adam Lopez, and he, along with Minnie Riperton and Mariah Carey have only been RUMORED to hit a C8. So if this guy can hit a C8#, I want to hear it. Right now, I don't buy it, so I deleted the info. I haven't heard Sarah MacLachlan or Ashanti Douglas pitch high either, but since the whistle register is merely the notes above E6, at last I can believe they have pitched a some point in their lives in the lower extremes of this register (as showcased by Blu Cantrell). Sorry for rambling.

I noticed you blocked this user about a week ago for vandalism. It looks like he's at it again (see his contributions for recent activity). I put him on Vandalism in Progress for vandalizing a VfD repeatedly and writing vanity articles, and today he left profane comments on several more articles. So you can probably go ahead and block him again, if you'd like. --Idont Havaname 23:12, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Update about this vandal - he's back at it. He's vandalized several more VfDs with quite a few personal attacks against me, another profane vandalism of Napoleon Dynamite (and some nonsense birthday listings on some of the days of the year articles), and several more nonsense articles. 10pm just meant he was done for the night. --Idont Havaname 19:52, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I've rolled back pretty much all your changes where you say that British also includes Ireland. If you want to correct these changes to Northern Ireland you are welcome to do so. Inter\Echo 11:11, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I was still working, you are so impatient. I try to put the people to their correct era according the time when they were active to avoid anachronism. See Kingdom of Great Britain (1707-1801), United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1801-1922) and United Kingdom 1922-. Yes, they might have been English (or Scottish, or Irish), but they were statesmen, and there wasn't such independent states as England, Scotland or Ireland when they were active.
- See your talk page. My suggestions for how to solve this are there. Inter\Echo 11:22, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Blocking - IP has affected username
[edit]Hi, due to vandalism in anonymous edits by 62.254.0.32, the IP address was temporarily blocked. Unfortunately, despite having a user name, it seems to block me on and off (usually on; the fact that I got as far as to add a comment here was a surprise). While I appreciate the need to block vandals, is there a way to overcome the problem of the block affecting use of my user account? I would post this on the Village Pump, but keep on getting the 'User is blocked' page!
Thanks for your help. --High Hopes 10:04, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Inter, thanks for taking time to reply. A couple of other users left messages on the talkpage, and it appears to be down to our specific ISP that causes Usernames on a blocked IP to not always work. The problem appears to be better now, but thanks! --High(Hopes) 18:53, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
blocked
[edit]I was editing an article and got to a page telling me that I was blocked (vandalism?). And then it worked again. What is happening? I am certainly not engaging in vandalism, is there an identity problem? Sorry, haven't seen this before. Yes, I am connecting via my ISP, could be that my IP address has changed recently.
Ok, I checked that this has something to do with NTL. However, I am logged in as TXA, so why do I get blocked by this???
Now it works, then it doesn't?
It says: Your IP address is 62.254.0.32. Please include this address in any queries you make. --Thorsten 20:43, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

You should be aware that both Yuber and Weyes are now serially reverting the "edits of note" comment off of the Talk:Jihad page.
It seems time to remove Jihad from protected status. A compromise has been proposed, without any apparent continuing disagreement, and indeed the last signed and dated activity on the talk page was two days ago (barring my own appeal to remove protection, added today). —Ryanaxp 17:59, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Inter, sorry for taking so long to answer your query about Eyeon. If you look through his contribs from the start, you'll see he's made disruptive edits to several articles and talk pages. He's also created a couple of hoax articles e.g. Dieter Manisprechensie, a non-existent philosopher, now deleted. He's a serial reverter, and has been blocked twice for 3RR in eight days. He's arranged a poll on Feces with sockpuppets voting, and allegations on the talk page, which I haven't checked, of distorting the vote by deleting votes or something. The more we respond to the disruption, the happier he is. I blocked him for 3RR because, along with a sockpuppet, he reverted, from memory, six times in 10 hours. I'm deducing that User:Niglet and User:Fecologist are sockpuppets from the fact that, as new or relatively new users, it was a remarkable cooincidence that they happened to check out Feces just in time to revert to Eyeon's photograph of a turd. Feces is now protected from any further sockpuppet editing. If any of the other editors on the page want to edit it, I've made it clear I'll unlock it. So far, no one has asked, except Eyeon, which tells me something. I hope this explanation helps. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 03:09, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

Scandinavian conflict
[edit]There's a dispute going on about Scandinavian languages. Right now it's a redirect to North Germanic languages and that's how I want it, but others think different. The involved parties are Wiglaf and an anonymous Norwegian editor who hails from the IP-series 83.109.xxx.xxx. As far as I can tell he's been active for almost a year, but still doesn't sign his posts nor register.
I've reverted once more and demanded to see some proper references, but no reply so far. The appropriate talkpage is Talk:Scandinavian languages. If this is not settled, I would very much like you to help mediate.

mediation cabal request
[edit]First of all, thank you in advance for at least trying, this situation is more stressful than I can put into words. Also, I'm sorry it's taken a bit to get back to you, my new job has limited my internet time.
The user I'm having difficulty with is Angie Y.. I think the trouble started in mid June, I'm not really sure anymore. What happened was I noticed this user making godawful edits, such as adding a note about the unpublished parody she wrote to the Mary Poppins page (actually added by an anon who may or may not have been her, but either way, it's her name). At first, I just assumed it was either an unknowing anon or a one-time vandal. So I just removed it...only to have her add it back a mere two minutes later. I dropped a note about it on her talk page, and thus began the nightmare.
She looked well meaning to me (which I still believe she is), but I decided to keep tabs on her just in case. Before I knew it, I was spending all my time on wikipedia (and often all my time online) sorting through her edits and reverting most of them. Her main problem is her penchant for posting references to things that happen in fanfiction (which I strongly suspect to be HER fanfiction), such as here, here, and on several now deleted pages (that referenced ONLY her fanfiction), as can be seen on her user page (the complete text of one of the pages was moved there before it was deleted, I offer it only as an example). She also has the nasty habit of creating pages for the minorest of minor characters (like here), along with a slew of other issues that are (or at least should be) relatively minor.
As can be plainly seen on her talk page, I (along with several other users) have done our damnedest to try to explain wikipedia policy and consensus to her, but to no avail. She continues to do the exact same things. If anything, her pace has increased. She also seems to think I'm reverting her edits out of some sort of vendetta, which isn't helping things at all. I'd love nothing more than to get her blocked for her ignorance/stubbornness, but seening as how she seems well meaning and is fairly dilligent, I know I couldn't make that happen. I have no idea what to do anymore, and I'd really like to be able to get things done on wikipedia again. So if there's anything you can do, please do, and feel free to keep in touch via my talk page. --InShaneee 04:05, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the effort, I really appreciate it, although all signs do point to the fact that she's simply ignoring your posts as she does mine. Frankly, I don't think anything but a slap on the wrist is going to help the situation. But I digress. Whenever you believe the appropriate time for her response has lapsed, please contact me about any 'other options' that may be available/appropriate. And thanks again, this is all indescribably stressful. --InShaneee 16:36, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
- It would appear that an RFC is the only option left on the table, so yes, I would like to discuss beginning one as soon as possible to resolve all of this. I would greatly appreciate your help (as RFCs are still something of a mystery to me). I'm considering dropping User:TheoClarke a line about participating, as he seems to have had plenty of difficulty with Angie as well. Otherwise, I'm going to need to do some reasearch to find a good third person. Either way, thank you for all your help so far, and thank you in advance for the rest. --InShaneee 15:03, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
Hei Inter: Thanks for the contact. I do not feel that an RFC is now appropriate. Angie appears to have stopped promoting her fanfic some weeks ago and she does eventually learn to conform to policy. It seems to me that the critical issue remaining is her lack of response to your messages. This may be a consequence of her medical condition. In my conversations with other people with Asperger's syndrome, I have found that some have trouble handling what they perceive as conflict (or potential conflict). Those who have articulated this problem have explained that they know that they lack the facility to identify important subtextual clues and fear that they will escalate any conflict. If I am correct (it is pure speculation that I have not discussed with Angie), an RFC would only exacerbate the problem. I will talk to InShaneee. —Theo (Talk) 12:50, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
My appreciation
[edit]Thanks for your help in reverting the vandal hitting my user page. I've reciprocated by fixing a couple of typos on your user page. An oddity: The IP that was spuriously adding my name to various articles had been used, only two hours earlier, to create a stub about Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak. I thought it might be a hoax, but it turns out to be a real child actor. He's appearing in a TV series that was mentioned in the stub but with a red link, so I did a little research and wrote Over There (series). Thus the siege of vandalism resulted in a small expansion of our coverage. Strange are the ways of the wiki. JamesMLane 22:24, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

Sissy baby peer review
[edit]Inter - first, thanks for "being rude" and getting involved. The reason I'm responding here rather than on Talk:Sissy baby itself is that I think that you've mis-characterised the problems with this article. I know that you've already volunteered time to work on this, but could you have a longer look at the talk page as well as related discussion on Talk:ABDL? And thanks again.
brenneman(t)(c) 13:46, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
Inter - thanks again, I think that you're doing a great job so far.
I've was really puzzled over one of your comments, so I left it for a while. Now that I've come back and looked at it again, I think that I understand. In one section you wrote OrbitOne is focusing on the content while Aaron is focusing on personalities.
I was totally baffled by this the first time (actually the first few times) I read it, but now I think I see what happened. Was your opinion that I was focusing on personalities based upon the section where I say "I'd be lying if I said I was not (by this stage) pretty annoyed."?
If that is the case, I'd like to make it clear that was in direct response to your question "...is this more a dispute over what the editors feel about each other?"
If you wouldn't mind, could you strike that out and add a note? It makes me simply squirm every time I think about it. Unless I'm wrong, and then could you respond on my talk page? Because I don't understand how I gave that impression, and would like advice on how to avoid that mistake in the future.

Neutral Wikipedia?
[edit]Dear Wikipedia administrator
I am writting you about the issue of Macedonia, Republic of Macedonia, Macedonian Slavs (like Wikipedia calls the Macedonians) and the problem between Macedonia and Greece about the term Macedonia. I am aware that this issue is largely discussed here, at Wikipedia, and Wikipedia claims that it is trying to take a neutral side. But, that is not the case. Wikipedia is everything except neutral in this question. In the following lines I will explain you why.
From the text in Wikipedia most of the people will conclude that Macedonian nation appeared during the World War 2 and Tito was the one who 'invented' us. The family of my wife (she is Mexican) read this and asked me is it truth. That was actually the first time I read what Wikipedia says about my nation, which was a direct reason for my reaction. My grandfather is born in 1911th. Yesterday I had a talk with him. He took a part in the strugle for independence since 1925th and he took a part in the 2nd world war. He is alive and personal prove that Wikipedia is full of bullshit and lies about our origin. He spent half of his life proving and fighting for that. He was shot 3 times, all 3 from the Bulgarians who wanted to ocupy Macedonia in the Balkan wars and in the WW1 and WW2. Just a 1 min with him will show you how many lies you suport in Wikipedia.
I tried to edit some of the text few days ago, but everithing I wrote was deleted. And all I wrote were facts. Fact 1. Macedonians (or Macedonian Slavs, like ONLY Wikipedia, Greece and Cyprus calls us) is the only nation of many living in the area concentrated inside the borders of the geographical region of Macedonia. This is a pure fact, something that you can even find on the CIA web page. Can you give any fact to deny my fact? If you can not, why you erased it from Wikipedia? Fact 2. Republic of Macedonia has diplomatic relations with about 150 countries in the world. Wikipedia says that "at least 20" countries recognize Macedonia under the name Macedonia. Guess what? That number is more than 100. And this is an officially confirmed by our ministery for foreighn affairs. Fact 3. Wikipedia says that my country Contraversialy calls itself Republic of Macedonia. This is a pure example of taking a side in the problem. Why you don't say that Greece contraversialy deny us the use of the name Macedonia? If you intended to be neutral, just write that we have the naming problem with Greece, but do not call my name "contraversial"!!! Fact 4. While explaining about the antient Macedonia, its kings etc. you highly support the claim for their Greek origin. I can give you 1000s of facts that that is not truth and I beleive that some Greek guy can give you 1000s facts that those claims are truth. That was 2400 years ago and there is no chanse for us to know the real situation. We can only guess. But, when you give the Greek suported version, why you ignore the version suported by the newaged Macedonians? In this moment I can give you 10 names of internationally respected scientist supporting our theory. If you are neutral, why you ignore it? Fact 5. Wikipedia says that the Turkish Empire were calling us Bulgarians. Strange, because the Turks were recognizing the uniqueness of our nation since the moment they occupied the teritory of Macedonia. Actually, the Turkish history archives are the biggest prove of our existance, history and culture. Did anyone of you ever read anything from those archives? Even on the birth certificate of Khemal Ataturk says that he is born in Bitola, Macedonia. And his autobiography is full of memories of his childhood spend with the Macedonians. Fact 6. Wikipedia ignores the egsodus of the Macedonian people from Greece and says they were running because they were supporters of the comunists. 1/3 of the Macedonians have origin from this part of Macedonia. They were runned away from there by force and you can find many historical proves for that. Again, big part of my family has origin from there. As a matter of fact, my grand-grand father was married to a Greek woman, my grand-grand mother. But, no matter of that, his house was burned and he was forced to run away for his life and the life of his family. How dare you deny this? Do you know that even today my grand father is not allowed to visit Greece, because he was a kid when his family runned away from there? Fact 7. There are about 500 000 Macedonians that live outside Macedonia, mostly in Canada, Australia, USA, Sweden etc. At least 1/3 moved there before 1930s. If we were a product of Tito, how can you explain that even they feel of Macedonian nationality? I have a family in USA which moved there in 1927th. Their ancestors (my cousins) do not even know how to talk Macedonian well. But, they still feel Macedonian. One of them is even one of the financiers of the party of the Macedonians in Bulgaria, trying to help their strugle to keep their national identity. I repeat, first time he visited Macedonia was in 1995th, far after Tito. And his family moved in USA in 1927th, far before Tito. Fact 8. Wikipedia claims that the book of Macedonian songs by Dimitar Miladinov is actually Bulgarian. Have you maybe seen a original copy of the book, printed in Croatia? IT says clearly "Macedonian". Not to mention that the same author wrote one of the most important books in the Macedonian history "For the Macedonian issues", again printed in Croatia, where it clearly talks about the Macedonian nation and non-Bulgarian origin.
All this was simply erased from the database. I didn't erase anything when editing these pages, I support the other side and I do not want to hide their facts. But why Wikipedia wants to hide our facts, which show that we are not a product of Tito's ambitions for the Aegean Sea. In Tito's time, the Yugoslav army was far superior in the region. If he wanted the Aegean Sea, he would get it very easily.
Many things in Wikipedia are very offensive for the nowdays Macedonians. Wikipedia simply ignores us, gives us a new name and supports the theories of denial of our existance, culture and history.
I will try to give you an example that includes with Mexico. I beleive that you know that the Maya civilisation was invaded by the Spanish kingdom. Spanish were ruling Mexico for centuries and millions of Spanish people moved at Mexican teritory. Later, after the liberation war, Mexicans formed its own country. Fact 1. Mayas were living in Mexico (same as Antique Macedonians). Fact 2. Spanish invaded them and great number of Spanish people moved to Mexico (The Slavs moved on the theritory of Macedonia and there was no reported fights or movements of people away from the teritory where the Slavs settled). Fact 3. Nowdays, everyone of the Mexican is aware that they are partly Spanish, but they still have Mayan origin (Wikipedia says that the people living in Republic of Macedonia are Slavs. When there was no reported resetling of the Antique Macedonians, how is possible they not to mix with the Slavs? It is a fact that the nowdays Macedonians are not same as the Antique Macedonians, but they certanly have a significant part of their genes. Same as I beleive that Greece has a part of their Genes, but they are definitly not their direct ancestors). Fact 4. Mexican speak Spanish. Reason: The Spanish culture was superior in that time. (The Antique Macedonians accepted the Helenic culture, including a variation of the Greek language. Reason: the Helenic culture was superior in that time. Everyone who knows at least little history will know that Hellenic and Greek are not synonims. Greek is nation, Hellenic is religion/culture. USA and England both speak English, both are mostly cristians, but they are SEPARATE nations. Aren't they? Same happens to Germany and Austria, or Serbia and Croatia, or Canada and France, or Brazil and Portugal, or the rest of Latin America and Spain)
And here is a comment about the claims of the Bulgarians, that the Macedonians are actually Bulgarians. If that is truth, I am going to kill myself. Bulgarians through the history made the worst for my nation. During the strugle of the Macedonian people for independence from the Turkish empire, at the end of the 19th and begginbing of the 20th century, the Bulgarians were the ones who killed the most of our revolutionaries, including 4 members of my close family which were members of the Macedonian revolutionary organization (VMRO). Whis is not something that I was told by Tito. My grandfather (the same grandfather from above) was in fact a member of the same organization. He personaly knew many of the revolutioners that Bulgarians claim are theirs, including 2 of the leaders: Goce Delcev and Gorce Petrov. They were Macedonians and they all gave their lives for free and independent Macedonia and they had nothing to do with Bulgaria. There was a part of them who were Bulgarians inserted in the organizations, who were actually the killers of the real Macedonian revolutioners, because it was in Bulgarian interest to weaken the organization, so they could take the lead in the organization and later put Macedonia in the hands of the Bulgarians. Thanks god, they did not succeed. Wikipedia claims that VMRO was pro-Bulgarian and the revolutioners were Bulgarian fighters. You suposed to see the face of my 94 year old grandfather when I told him your claims. Neurtal Wikipedia? I do not think so.
At the end I have to ask for Wikipedia NOT TO TAKE A SIDE IN THIS. I am not asking to remove the Greek and Bulgarian side of the story. But, why you ignore our claims, which are suported by many non-Greek and non-Bulgarian scientists and very largely through the web. There are just about 2-2.5 million Macedonians around the world. We do not have enought influence and strenght as Greece has, which is much more powerful and richer country than Macedonia. The Macedonian-Greek question is too hard and too complicated to solve. History can be interpreted in 1000 ways, especially on a teritory like the Balcany, where there are so many nations on so little space. Fortunately, DNA testings are getting more and more reliable and soon it will be possible to be used to acuratelly show the origin of our nations. I hope that then the denyal of me, my history, culture and existance will finaly stop. It is very disapointing that Wikipedia takes a part in all that.
With all the respect, Igor Šterbinski Skopje, Macedonia is@on.net.mk
AOL and User Blocks
[edit]Inter: I believe there was already research done on that IP number and that it was decided by User:JRM to put the number on "the list." Below is a copy of a discussion taken from my User File - User:WBardwin/AOL Block Collection. I would appreciate a followup, if the number was ultimately not listed as indicated here. I will copy this message to JRM as well. Thank you for your help. WBardwin 19:08, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
- "Jayjg, Linuxbeak had blocked 207.200.116.132 and WBardwin wrote a message on User talk:Linuxbeak. I noticed it—I'm watching the pages because Linux is doing some heavy vandal-fighting—and unblocked the IP shortly afterwards, say 20:15 UTC. I interfered because I figured Linux might be gone for the weekend, as he hasn't been editing, and WBardwin and maybe others too would have an unconscionable wait. Perhaps you checked for the block after I'd already removed it? I was a little uncertain, since the range wasn't listed on Special:Blockip, but I checked with JRM on IRC and he told me to go ahead and unblock (and then he put the range on the list, too). Thanks for your patience, WBardwin. I bet it is an annoyance! :-( Bishonen | talk 21:53, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)"
- "The IP mentioned is an AOL cache proxy and should not be blocked for any length of time. I did some probing in the range and it seems to be wholly or mostly comprised of caches, so I added the range to the exclusion list. We can always narrow it down if that should be necessary, but better safe than sorry. JRM · Talk 22:31, 2005 Jun 24 (UTC)"
Also, FYI, Bishonen | talk also posted a July 15th admin "appeal" on my behalf and on behalf of those similarly afflicted. "YAA, Yet Another Appeal, about it on WP:ANI, diff here." WBardwin 19:37, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help -- I'd appreciate any consideration possible. WBardwin 19:56, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
Diaper Lover Mediation
[edit]Another edit fight by guess who. Can you please help me out here? I do not have time to source everything for one man who attacks -anyone- who disagrees with him as being too close to a subject to be objective. He deleted a picture and slashed an article again.
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for reading the long text that I sent to you. I am new to Wikipedia. As soon as I got here, I noticed that many texts here concerning nowday Macedonia and the Macedonians (which is my nationality) are very not NPOV. That was very frustrating for me, because my nationality, history and culture was completely ignored and shared between the Bulgarians and the Greeks. I understand that the Macedonia issue is very complicated, but I found many things written here on Wikipedia to be assimilative.
As I said, I was new on Wikipedia and that is the reason why I started posting to every user I could find. Now I know that is mistake, but in that time it seemed the only way how to get someones attention.
I am not sure how much you are informed about the history of Macedonia (the people and the region), but it is extremely complicated.
Thanks again, I sterbinski 00:17, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

Blocked
[edit]Strangely, once my PC was switched off and then on again a few minutes later, I found that I as able to go back onto Wikipedia and edit as usual. I'll try that again to check if it's not a coincidence. Anyway, thanks for your reply to my request for help. --Aaron Jethro

[edit]You have banned him before, but he's back to vandalizing. He's very good as vandals go; some of his changes have stuck around for months without anyone noticing. But he got too ambitious again, oh well. --Hagie 09:30, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

Arbitration Remedies Violation
[edit]Inter --
I'd like to have an administrator impose a 24-hour block on Jayjg for violating the prohibition imposed by Requests_for_arbitration/HistoryBuffEr_and_Jayjg that he not remove "adequately referenced information from any article which relates to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" for the period 16 January 2005 to 16 January 2006. Jayjg violated this prohibition repeatedly by changing Occupied Territories (Israeli) to a redirect and by removing link to this article at Occupied Territories.
Thank you.

Book the Twelfth
[edit]Hi,
Just wondering why you removed my edits to this page yesterday. I'm new to this Wiki thing so perhaps I did something wrong, but I thought it was supposed to be a collaborative effort.
Thanks

OK

Logical paradoxes and vandalism to your User Page
[edit]I wanted to tell you that a logical paradox prevented vandalism to your user page. Let me explain it. I was going to vandalize your page by incrementing by one the number of times it was vandalized by registered users, but then I realized that if I did so, the number would have then represented the actual number times of times it was vandalized, and therefore I wouldn't have commited vandalism. But then again, if I didn't, then the number would be incorrect, and I would have incurred in vandalism. To prevent the universe from collapsing I decided not to change that counter. Another vandal you've been watching
[edit]User: 64.141.49.2 is at it again; I'm posting this here because you seem to have admin privileges; if after all these warnings, we do nothing, we're no longer credible.... Best, Bill 19:27, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Response to help
[edit]- When one is writing in the edit summary box while conducting an edit, how is it that "-->Section of article" appears beside the edits that were made to the article? I am perplexed by this and could not uncover how to do this during the time I edited under an IP address. An answer would be most appreciated, thank you.
- This happens whenever you use one of the header [Edit] links instead of using the "edit this page" top button.
- How are self-created graphs, tables, etc. uploaded on to Wikipedia?
- You can upload them to Wikipedia via the toolbox on your left sidebar. See Wikipedia:Uploading_images and Wikipedia:Image_use_policy for information on what you can and can't do. We want png files if possible. You also have to make sure that you tag your images with the appropriate copyright information. Failure to do so will lead to removal of your picture, regardless if it's yours or not.
- What is the purpose of "user boxes"?
- See Wikipedia:Userboxes. It's just boxes that you can put on your user page.
- Are there a certain number of edits one is not allowed to exceed per day?
- None whatsoever! Happy editing! Inter\Echo 21:19, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Thank you very much. –Eternal Equinox 21:20, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Kan du føre på lisensinfo på no:Bilde:Rpwl band 2005.jpg, som du lastet opp på norsk (bokmål) Wikipedia? Hilsen kjetil_r 08:13, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Unblocking
[edit]He, you indef blocked User talk:GoatSe yesterday. I don't know why since you left only a crypric block summary (not terribly helpful) and no message on his talk page. It may be you have made a mistake, I looked at his edits and I can't see anything other than good contributions. If I've missed something, feel free to re-block him. If it is a mistake, perhaps you might offer him an apology. In any case, please drop a note on his userpage, and perhaps on AN where he has complained. Thanks. --Doc ask? 11:51, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Infantilism Article/Repeated deletions
[edit]Bittergrey is complaining someone keeps deleting the references he has posted. I have seen this is rather selective, and I think this might fall under vandalism to some extent since I see no logical reason to delete references. Can you for the time being lock the page with Bittergreys last edit so we can keep the references on the page while he works on gathering more references to this article?
ContiE has impersonated me on other wikis
[edit]Hi, I'm in a potentially awkward position with an Administrator. I have read the Wiki pages on dispute resolution but I'm still not sure how to proceed.
The Admin ContiE has a personal grudge against me for reasons I do not fully understand. He has been this way since I began frequenting wikipedia.
I have done work improving the furvert article. He has basically gone on a crusade against any edit I make. He controls every furry category article and several others ruthlessly. He is an iron fist and bans anyone he edit wars with. I had uploaded pictures and he deleted them with no talking. He seems to believe I am every person he has had an edit war against. He is always using personal attacks, calling me troll without reason. I uploaded them again and he voted them for deleted, but to his surprise the person who runs the images, thank you Nv8200p, found they were acceptable once I tagged them properly. Just recently he removed both the images without himself discussing it in the talk page (unless he was the same person who discussed only one) with the edit here [1] Then ContiE assumed bad faith, added his constant insult of troll in the talk page. It appears on a completed different wiki, a comedy one in all things, somebody else stole my username and I believe this was Conti himself and uploaded them. ContiE showed it as his reason. While vandalism like his, I would revert and mention it, he would ban me permanently if I undid his edit. That is why I am asking admins for help. He holds a couple of accounts on wikipedia and I think they are administrators so I have to be careful who I tell about this. Arights 07:33, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Sorry
[edit]Yeah, sorry for the fault. In fact, "One of the curators is chubby" is what prompted me to revert. However, then I saw that it was in previous version! there must have been some lapse! Its really funny hiw ir happened. I am very sorry.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:09, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Haha. It must have been really peculiar for you to get the vandal warning being a vandal warrior! Anyway, I will be cautios henceforth. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:13, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
