Dips (Exercise)
[edit]The article on dips, in addition to being incorrect on matters pertaining to muscular mechanics, does not show proper subject/verb agreement throughout. A "person" is singular and "their" is plural. You cannot say, "A person supports their weight," if the antecedent of the pronoun "their" is "person". That is not proper grammar.
WikiPedia most certainly does NOT support this absurd non-grammatical nonsense. The website you listed was WP:GNL but that website says that it is acceptable to use "they" and "their" when pluralizing both subject AND predicate, not just one or the other. Read the link! It says: "Pluralizing (not “A player starts by taking up his position”, but “Players start by taking up their positions”), although this can be problematic where the text needs to emphasize individuals, or where it creates a need to switch regularly between singular and plural."
What you have written is simply bad grammar and Wikipedia does not endorse it. Please read the discussion page and contribute there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raoulduke25 (talk • contribs) 17:37, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I will try to rewrite the article and preserve both aspects that Wikipedia wants. But then there is also the issue of the involvement of the latissimi dorsi (which contribute nothing to the execution of a dip). Sorry if I came across a bit harsh. Cheers!Raoulduke25 02:24, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Inhumandecency! Thanks for your contribution to Wikipedia. I put "sources" and "wikify" tags but i removed it because i wasn't sure it was 100% appropriate. That's the reason why it only appears in the history (I guess you understand now). For more information, see WP:WIKIFY and WP:SOURCE, which contains guidelines and tags. Don't be afraid to take a look at wikipedia guidelines related articles, there is a lot of useful information for newcomers who want to improve the encyclopedia (like you). I'm not a wikipedia expert but you can drop me a line if you have more questions. Salut! :) Frédérick Lacasse 13:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for writing this article. It's been on my to-do list for some time...nice work. -- Scientizzle 05:46, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Kagi (company)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kagi (company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. -- WebHamster 00:09, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Broaden-and-build
[edit]A tag has been placed on Broaden-and-build requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 02:48, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- It was blatant copyright infringement. You can't just copy things from other websites. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 00:32, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- If you were not the creator, you wouldn't have been notified. If you would like a deletion review, please go here Thanks, - Milk's Favorite Cookie 22:57, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Broaden and Build
[edit]Hi! The page in question is Broaden-and-build, which was deleted by Dlohcierekim (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). However, it appears that the deletion was improper because there were some non-copyvio versions in the history, so I restored the good versions of both articles. Happy editing! east.718 at 04:00, March 7, 2008
Hi there, I've replied to your comment there. Tim Vickers (talk) 20:46, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
TOO MANY CAPITAL LETTERS
[edit]Concerning this edit: It is incorrect to use a capital P and a capital C in this context. It should be "In popular culture", with a capital initial "I" and the rest in lower case. This is codified in Wikipedia:Manual of Style. The first letter of a section heading is capital; the rest are capital only when there's a reason to capitalize them. Being an initial letter in a section heading is not such a reason. Look around Wikipedia and you'll see this. Michael Hardy (talk) 17:46, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
July 2012 Study of authors of health-related Wikipedia pages
[edit]Dear Author/Inhumandecency
My name is Nuša Farič and I am a Health Psychology MSc student at the University College London (UCL). I am currently running a quantitative study entitled Who edits health-related Wikipedia pages and Why? I am interested in the editorial experience of people who edit health-related Wikipedia pages. I am interested to learn more about the authors of health-related pages on Wikipedia and what motivations they have for doing so. I am currently contacting the authors of randomly selected articles and I noticed that someone at this address edited an article on Arthrography. I would like to ask you a few questions about you and your experience of editing the above mentioned article and or other health-related articles. If you would like more information about the project, please visit my user page (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Hydra_Rain) and if interested, please reply via my talk page or e-mail me on nusa.faric.11@ucl.ac.uk. Also, others interested in the study may contact me! If I do not hear back from you I will not contact this account again. Thank you very much in advance. Hydra Rain (talk) 16:41, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 6
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Comparison of crowd funding services, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Swag and Equity (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
