Move to hydrolyzed collagen? (from old title,"hydrolyzed collagen (hydrosylate)")
[edit]Seems to me like this would be better titled "hydrolyzed collagen." I'm not sure why anyone would look for it under the current name. Any objections to a move? - Inhumandecency (talk) 08:26, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
page blanked; redirected to "bodybuilding supplement"
[edit]I think it's reasonable to have an article that defines hydrolyzed collagen and describes its uses. Even with the heavily-unsubstantiated claims that currently dominate the article, it still adds information, especially since HC has uses beyond supplementation (e.g., haircare). I strongly feel the page should be restored, though I won't revert it until others have weighed in. Inhumandecency (talk) 23:39, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Why not write a new version of the article that actually cites reliable sources in a personal sandbox? Then there would be a better alternative than having to choose between either the appalling mess that the old article had degenerated into, or just having a redirect? Health Benefits Citation
[edit]Under the "Health Benefits" section there is a "Citation Needed" tag on the opening synopsis. I think the citation for that statement is adequately covered in the 4 subparagraphs. I recommend removal of the "Citation Needed" tag. Hannoske (talk) 17:33, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
What is it?
[edit]I came to this page to find out what hydrolyzed collagen is, but no definition is provided. Chimodori (talk) 01:20, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Amino acid and Nutrition sections
[edit]I changed the amino acids link to go to that article's table showing which are essential amino acids. I also added info about the missing essential amino acid. This was a cut and paste from the Gelatine#Medical_and_nutritional_properties article so if anyone thinks it's incorrect information then they ought to change it there as well as here. Incidentally, some percentages given in the amino acid table in this article are slightly different (1%) from those given in the gelatin article. Furthermore, why are proline and hydroxyproline put on the same line here? It seems to be implying that they are a variable mixture that makes up 25% of the amino acid profile. The gelatin article lists them separately at 12% each, making glycine, at 21%, the most prevalent.
Gelatin
[edit]Hydrolysed collagen is gelatin, gelatin is hydrolysed collagen. This is noted in the lead and there is no distinction. I think that this article should be merged into the other. Tomásdearg92 (talk) 06:47, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
