School blocks
[edit]Hi Infrogmation, in future could you please use {{schoolblock}} in the block reason itself rather than on the talk page alone. If you need to provide an additional comment you do so via {{schoolblock|comments}}. Don't forget that block reasons are viewed by members of the public not responsible for the vandalism itself and that cryptic WP:ADMIN lingo can be confusing and unnecessarily offputting. See also {{anonblock}}. Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 12:16, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
King Oliver's death date
[edit]Why did you change the death date back to April 8, 1938 for King Oliver? Do you know something I don't? I can send you the death certificate if you would like, if that kind of stuff interests you. I am also a Katrina Evacuee but I currently reside in Savannah and am working on a book about Savannah West Broad Jazz Scene of 30's and 40's, and I am currently determining where Joe was working when he died (city directory searches and interviews) Best of luck to you and my hometown!

- Hi. You were right, I was wrong. Sorry, as changing the death date was your only edit as a not logged in user, I reverted it, as we unfortunately have a problem with vandals trying to change random numbers in articles, and I incorrectly assumed this was another such example. If changing a date, a note in either the edit summary box or on the article talk page mentioning the source or reason for such a change is a good idea. Your contributions are welcome; I encourage you to choose a user name and log in if you'd like to participate more. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 15:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Right you are...I'll do that.
Cheers,
Dean

Nude award
[edit]Err. I hate to rain on your parade, but I've re-deleted that article after moving it into your userspace. It's a blatantly clear speedy, and the burden isn't on me to AfD it, it's on you to justify the restoration. Try Deletion review if you'd like. - brenneman 05:33, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Okely dokely... first, it's bloody rude to reverse first and notify later. Secondly, "I've heard of it" is as crappy a reason to restore something as "I've never heard of it" would be to delete it. Thirdly, it was a dead-clear valid speedy deletion. Nextly (since I've lost count) please don't wheel-war: It's well established that admin actions are on a "first in" basis. Finally, see Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_February_8#Miss_Nude_Universe if you'd like to comment, as I've put {{tempundelete}} on the page. - brenneman 05:44, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have no wish to be rude nor wheel war. We seem to be getting on eachothers nerves over something fairly minor; I suggest we call in some disininterested third parties to resolve things. Best wishes, -- Infrogmation 05:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- The consensus in this case is the fact that speedy deletion criterion are mostly uncontested. Are you objecting to the whole idea of speedy deletion? Because, although I'm not a huge fan of the word, that's the "procedure." I'm fairly gob-smacked by this whole exchange, to be frank. - brenneman 05:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- And I don't mean to be cranky, sometime I just am without noticing. - brenneman 05:54, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

- Same here. With luck, cooler heads will prevail on this question and we can both go back to fighting vandals and improving articles. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 06:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Block of 198.164.159.4 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
[edit]Hi. You blocked 198.164.159.4 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) this afternoon. While patrolling, Category:Requests for unblock, I saw a request from Susiebowers (talk · contribs), saying that she was autoblocked as a result. I am re-blocking 198.164.159.4 with autoblock turned off. Please feel free to modify or reverse this action as you deem appropriate. Thank you. --BigDT 03:32, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'd seen no evidence of that being shared or I would have blocked AO to begin with. Thanks for taking care of it. -- Infrogmation
Re: 199.216.220.2 (Lehbridge Collegiate Institute)
[edit]This is my school's IP, and a load of people are getting pretty irritated that's it's blocked for the next few months. I know there has been a string of vandalism in the past, but I think you guys will find a soft block will eliminate 99.9% of the problems coming from this IP, since few people actually have accounts and most will be too lazy to make one. If the vandalism continues under the anon block, I stand corrected and the full block can continue idefinitely. Phoenix2 17:16, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Changed to AO per request. -- Infrogmation 18:18, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
My edit
[edit]It was a mistake. Red Director and I reverted the same vandal. I'm not sure what happened, but I just went back to vandal policing. Nice catch! .ιΙ Inhuman14 Ιι.( talk | contrib) 18:18, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I see. That can happen. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 18:20, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for trying to help me out. I was just expressing my frustration. I don't understand why someone would delete a good and factual article. Randomfrenchie 02:51, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks regarding Antigua Guatemala
[edit]We had had a user, I believe her name to be Stevie Riegel –although she never registers, who for several months has been vandalizing the external links of Antigua Guatemala. He or she deletes all the valid links and then puts a link to her Lake Atitlan site. It took me while to clean the links and verify that they were indeed related to Antigua Guatemala and then she came and deleted all. To be fair, I did all the links again and label her link as Antigua photos from the Atitlán site since she does have a few photos of Antigua on her site. She has been vandalizing all the other geographic areas of Guatemala with her link http://www.atitlan.net/riegel/, which I don't have the time to clean up, except for Antigua. This is however very frustrating since every other day I have to undo her vandalizing or spamming. I even requested a semiblock or semiprotection for the section.

Prepositioned
[edit]In Effect of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans, "prepositioned" was changed to "propositioned". I believe the former was meant, so I changed it back.-- Infrogmation 03:26, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I keep making mistakes with this word, for some reason, although usually I manage to catch most of them. I reckon it's time to remove it from my correction list! Cheers, CmdrObot 14:55, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Louisiana Wikipedians
[edit]Hello, My name is Cory, and I'm working on a story for the Advocate about people in Louisiana who create and maintain Wikipedia pages, particularly ones about the area and its inhabitants. If you would be willing to participate in an interview for it, could you reply either by e-mail at cbirdsong@gmail.com or AIM at cbirdsong64?
Thanks, Cory
Hello
[edit]Hello infrogmation just dropped by to say hi.--FG90 22:49, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. Let me know if you have a specific question or comment. -- Infrogmation 23:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I saw your revert, and I know there's been a lot of vandalism on this page - did you mean to revert this edit? I'm not sure it's necessary to list every career move Madonna (entertainer) has had. Vashti 19:28, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I reverted to a couple days back to what looked like a reasonable edit by a registered user. However I have no objection to stating that list more briefly. Change if you like. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 19:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey...
[edit]I dont' know much about vandalism or how people are blocked, etc., but I do revert it and add warnings occasionally. User:AaronFX just vandalized Book of Mormon again, and I saw that you had blocked him back in January... just thought I'd give a heads up. Thanks! gdavies 22:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. -- Infrogmation 23:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Thomasville
[edit]That is a really good picture of the Thomas County Courthouse that you put on the Thomasville page. I was just wondering do you think it belongs on the Thomasville page or the Thomas County page? Thanks again for the really good picture. --Mjrmtg 15:32, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- Glad you like it. I just passed through Thomasville briefly; I wish I had gotten more good photos. I guess the photo could illustrate either article; feel free to move it, or link it both places if you see fit, at least until we have more and better images to illustrate both articles. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 15:39, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'll link it to both pages. I've added courthouse personally taken pictures to the Lowndes County, Georgia and Cook County, Georgia pages. --Mjrmtg 16:30, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Improper cut & paste edits
[edit]Thank you for correcting my erroneous attempts to move pages (the Walter E. Williams and Fred E. Foldvary articles) via cut & paste. I became aware of my mistake after the fact and was at a loss as how to fix it. I shall not make that mistake again. Your intervention is appreciated. --JayJasper 23:31, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your attention. If I can be of assistance in cleanup or page move, ask. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 23:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Alero
[edit]I knew that, but I was saying that Vandals were who smashed the windshield, tore off the right wiper, and took away the rear door. Karrmann 23:14, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
A request...
[edit]Hey there Infrogmation. There's been a bit of an edit war going on over at Mesoamerica over some geographical terminology (actually an editing dispute that seems to have spilled over to that article). I'd temporarily protected the article to give things a chance to calm down a bit and come to some sort of agreement. However that temporary protection will soon expire, and as I'll shortly be going offline for about a week or so, I was wondering whether you'd be able to keep an eye on things there from time to time lest things get back out of hand. Best, --cjllw | TALK 08:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
