Referencing
[edit]Hi there - could I please ask you to not use just iNaturalist as a source for new taxa articles? Since this is a crowd-sourced platform, it technically does not satify WP's requirements for reliable sources. It's generally fine to have in a species article, but there needs to be at least one source with professional peer review. For fish, the best port of call is usually Fishbase; for marine species in general, WoRMS. We have handy citation templates for both (see e.g. now at Ostorhinchus limenus and Ommastrephes brevimanus). Cheers! --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 21:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, will do. Thanks for the tip!
- iNaturalist Lover Inaturlist Lover (talk) 20:19, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
- Then why don't you? Maulisia isaacsi only has iNaturalist as a source, Draft:Parateleopus indicus as well (and was otherwise very unfinished, I moved it to draft), and Antigonia eos has no nource at all. Please improve your sourcing and writing, and take your time before actually publishing an article in the mainspace. Fram (talk) 13:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
I know, I know, I’m trying my best. I just struggle with sources that aren’t iNaturalist. Can you help? --Inaturlist Lover (talk) 12:30, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Toben Seymour moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Toben Seymour, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
