Boitumelo McCallum Page
Thanks for your input. I hope Wikipedia keeps the page!--MurderWatcher1 15:12, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- UPDATE: I saw that Boitumelo McCallum's father inputted a response on the now deleted discussion page for Boitumelo McCallum. If you want, you can read my response to him. We tried. Again, thanks for your work.--MurderWatcher1 16:17, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Pre Celebration
Your edit comment: (unlinking im prison ment, rewording florida trip, article doesn't mention birthday celebration of any sort). Okay, it's not in the text but it IS implied. Anyone reading the newspapers would come to that conclusion because her birthday was just a few days away.--MurderWatcher1 21:07, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Naming
Candice, certainly, it is better to use their well-known name in the article. But, I believe that in the Infobox, it is important to indicate the "real name", for that reason is a section for "name" and another "pseudonym". If your you eliminate the real name totally, that important information is lost. Belagaile 13:56, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hi ImGz, Thanks for the warning as always, I know that I commit many errors, I'll try to be more careful in the articles in which I collaborate. But, I'm in agreement with Belagiale, in which in infobox's name, she would have to appear the real name, otherwise does not have much sense. What you think? E-romance 15:11, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
AN/I
Hello ImGz. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at ANI regarding an issue that you may be involved with. You are free to comment at the discussion, but please remember to keep your comments within the bounds of the civility and "no personal attack" policies. Thank you.
Although you're only very tangentially involved in this one, I'm inviting your comments; this appears to be a real "no-win" situation at the moment (and possibly likely to trigger a fairly nasty flamewar), and given your almost-successful efforts to save Boitumelo McCallum you may be able to suggest a way out of the whole sorry mess. — iridescent (talk to me!) 18:42, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I had left further comments, mentioning your work, etc. which you may want to read. For some reason, the Wikipedia formatting bar isn't working on my computer so I'll have to sign this post manually User:MurderWatcher1 at 12:36 p.m. NYC Time. —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 16:37, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Offer
While I've never run into you before (unsurprising, since we barely overlap), I've recently been looking very closely at your contribution history - I'm sure you know why - and am very impressed, particularly with some of your user talk contributions to some of our more (ahem) challenging users, with your stewardship of Cystic fibrosis and with your superb, even if ultimately unsuccessful WP:HEY work on Boitumelo McCallum. If you ever want to run for adminship, I'd be glad to nominate you; you've certainly got the experience and the understanding of both policy and when to ignore it. While you don't have much to do with deletion, with the amount of reverting you do you've certainly a use for sysop buttons; the amount of experience you have and a look through your deleted contributions (the quickest-and-dirtiest way to spot someone who doesn't understand policy) makes me confident you wouldn't abuse or misuse them. If you want me to nominate you, let me know; if you don't at the moment but might later, consider that a standing offer. — iridescent (talk to me!) 22:54, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wow I definitely hadn't expected that when I checked wikipedia, and all that comes to mind right now is thank you! I haven't seriously thought about becoming an admin before although it sounds like a position that is both interesting and requires responsibility. However before making a decision to be nominated now or later I think I'd like to read up more on what would be involved, start being involved more with the deletion process, and decide if I'd like to attempt a position of responsibility within the community now or later. So I guess I'll get back to you soon. Once again thank you! --ImGz 23:17, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Trade secret - it is not as hard (or impressive) as it sounds. Basically means you get a "block" button next to each user's name in page histories, and "protect" and "delete" buttons between "history" & "move". The gory details are at WP:SYSOP#Administrator tools; some of them (editing the main page, changing the design of the interface, viewing Special:Unwatchedpages, which hasn't worked properly for years) most admins never actually touch. Anyone who's been here long enough to warrant their own libel from ED is surely experienced enough. — iridescent (talk to me!) 23:29, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
The Bar that Levin met Chambers in
The point that I'm making, should I research her case futher, and I know I'm right, is that Levin met Chambers at Dorrian's Red Hand, so that is a valid connection to the Imette St. Guillen page reference. By the way, it appears that Iridescent is hinting at me as the "challenging user" in the above "Offer". Tell him that I don't miss anything!--MurderWatcher1 17:17, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
MW1
As you may well be aware (I suspect you have them watchlisted) the four least-salvageable articles of the batch have gone to AfD to get a final consensus on whether they're salvageable, since the AN/I discussion didn't reach any form of consensus. I've not nominated Imette St. Guillen at this stage; as you seem to know more about the case, do you think it's worth trying to rescue it, perhaps by gutting it down to a stub and moving it to an article on the case, or should it go to the wall as well? It does look potentially salvageable if it genuinely did lead to a change in the law. (Whilst assuming good faith, I have extreme doubts about the actual copyright status of the photo used to illustrate the article, however.)
Congratulations on your pre-emptive WP:HEY-ing of Fountain Avenue, incidentally, which has saved it from a probable WP:50k deletion. (Despite my reputation as the Great Street Deleter following my clearout of Category:Streets in London, I really dislike nominating streets; my first ever GA was a street article and I have a soft spot for them, as they're so hard to do well.) — iridescent (talk to me!) 01:25, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- I do have them on my watch list, though I haven't voted as of yet since I feel like a fluffy sheep has taken up residence in my brain for the last few hours or so. I'm just waiting for the sinus decongestant to kick in before doing anything big on wiki.. might even wait until tomorrow.
- As for St. Guillen, from what I understand there were no regulations on hiring bouncers or requiring having security cameras at bars before her death, though I could be wrong since I never really researched that very well. So I think her death had a direct impact on that area of legislation. I'd like to say 'just keep the article' because who really likes having their work cut down? However when taking an impartial look at it the article could probably be cut down and merged into an article on the law. The legacy, aftermath, and the section on Littlejohn could probably go as it is most of the article is the 'nightlife' section which just talks about the legislation (I don't think I've actually read that thing, just suggested it become it's own article). Thanks for the congrats on Fountain Avenue.. I had read something earlier about it being used as a dump site; just hadn't had a chance to stick it in there since the discussion on AfD'ing articles. Hah anyway words are starting to blur together so I think I'll just get to everything tomorrow; including researching the Imette's Law and seeing if it'd be possible to create an article on that and merge St. Guillen there. --ImGz 01:48, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Veropedia
Hello Candice, I've been impressed by your work on cystic fibrosis and all those Drexel University articles, and I've been meaning to ask you: would you be interested in becoming a member of Veropedia? It's an effort by a group of Wikipedians who are interested in preserving the very best of Wikipedia's articles: those that are well-written, stable (not undergoing any edit wars), and well-referenced.
I believe Veropedia was started after some people noticed how many Wikipedia articles would reach good or featured status, only to deteriorate over time due to vandalism and disputes over content. One person described it to me as "Wikipedia without the drama", and I think that's a fair description. A FAQ is available at here, and there is an IRC gateway here. If you have further questions, feel free to ask! We'd love to have your help! --Kyoko 15:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, no problem at all, I completely understand where you are coming from: so many things you want to do, so little time! You're welcome to join later if you wish. Hope everything's going well, --Kyoko 15:07, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Possible New Picture for the Imette St. Guillen Page Reference
I'd like your opinion of this now-defunct webpage, found using internet archive wayback machine:
Since the previous picture for St. Guillen was deleted from Wikipedia, I was wondering if one of these might replace it. I put a notice on some wikipedia board but no one returned my post message.--MurderWatcher1 17:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments, re: the photo. They were insightful and appreciated.--MurderWatcher1 14:57, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
My Boston Latin Picture
Thanks for resizing my Boston Latin High School picture further. I have one question. The command 'thumb' will resize ANY size picture? My camera produces considerably large files - 10 megapixel resolution, so I'm wondering if, in the future I should just upload my images after I've editing them to considerably smaller size.--MurderWatcher1 22:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Chanel Petro-Nixon's Page
Yes I know! I've been working on it a good part of this week! It barely escaped AfD and I want it kept! I know it still needs a lot of work! I see you're on it so I'll just go home. Swatjester may have deleted some materials because I was looking for the CNN link and didn't find it on the page. Check the previous pages before he "weighed-in" on the page to see what's there. I was also putting the Ramona Moore page in order. Lot of work.--MurderWatcher1 00:04, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Fabrication? re: St. Guillen
I just received this questionable information about Imette St. Guillen. I think it's phony but I want you to look at it anyway. I'm not putting it in Wikipedia unless more sources that are reliable report the same thing.

A new Jennifer Moore page
It took some time, what with re-researching Moore's plight but I have recreated Jennifer Moore's page, brand new with references. I still lack some of your finesse, however, with references, and if you can, please look at her new page. There is also a new Nightlife Legislation section on that page, as well as St. Guillen's, but in her case it's very different. It would be considerable work to combine them, as per your tag on the Imette St. Guillen page and I personally feel that, for the present, they should be separate for a while. I think that the trials are coming up for both young women and for that reason, the Nightlife Legislation sections should remain for any reader interested in the young women, separately.--MurderWatcher1 (talk) 00:54, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Wenocur
Regarding your edits and tagging of the Wenocur article, I am assured by a University Professor in the relevant field that Wenocur is clearly notable. Also I think some of your deletions may have been premature. For instance, the fact that you were unable to verify her summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa status doesn't mean no one can. Perhaps it would have been better to leave the material there until it can be clarified. I'm trying to work with other editors to improve the article. Please give us a chance. --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 22:48, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your attention to Wenocur
We are working on establishing notability -- all of us who use her results and new methods. Please remove notability tag as we establish notability. In academia, not only books on Amazon.com are considered important; research papers count, too. Alfred Legrand (talk) 12:00, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Sigma Delta Tau
Hello, you removed Joan Rivers from the Sigma Delta Tau page with the comment "source isn't reliable.. unable to find reliable source to replace it". I do not understand why you are saying that the reference I provided is not a reliable source. The source is Duquesne University (specifically their Office of Greek Life). This is a reliable, third-party published source with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Why do you say the source isn't reliable? PittSammy (talk) 05:51, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- I would agree with what you said if the content was chapter-generated. In this case, this was published by the Greek Life office itself (professional staff members of Duquesne University), and not a chapter. We can be sure of this because there is no chapter of Sigma Delta Tau at Duquesne University. PittSammy (talk) 22:04, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Everest: A Climb for Peace
Hello,
- What you stated on my film's Web site - on its wiki page - in my humble opinion is wrong and should be reverted back to its original writing. I am the copyright owner - I am the owner of The Everest Peace Project! I am the one who wrote this overview - why do you people like to make things difficult?! The article is not an advert - it is written as an overview and is reliably sourced below. Fact: it is narrated by Orlando Bloon - fact: it has been endorsed by the Dalai Lama - fact: it does have a dramatic rescue - fact: it was filmed in 9 different countries - fact: the focus in on the Palestinian and Israeli climbers - fact...etc.! What else do you need?! Please let me know.
- It is extremely frustrating to spend 5 years on a project that is meaningful that is trying to sew the seeds of peace and recocilliation to the world and then have someone like yourself just wipe out the page on a whim because you feel like it.
- If you have an issue then please email me direct: lance@everestpeaceproject.org

- Hello again,
- I realize that you were trying to be helpful - but to me Wikipedia and all its features and rules seem a bit like the "Matrix" - I have difficulty trying to read and understand the whole copyright process. I am not an editor (obviously) - I am just a person who would like his two pages working and functional and that is it...From my perspective it seems that Todd1 has some personal issues with me or my project for he not only deleted my film "Everest: A Climb for Peace" - I recently realized that he also deleted my peace organization "The Everest Peace Project" (I just again rewrote this). Althoug it is my copyright, I would neverthelss like to rewrite Everest: A Climb for Peace so the editors are happy and so it does not have any copyright issues in their / your eyes. Can you please revert it back to how it was - or at least make it so everything is there except the overview (leave the box and links)- and I will immediately rewrite the overview. I would really appreciate it.
- Thank you,
- Lancetrumbull (talk) 16:51, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Lance Trumbull
- Update: I rewrote the article and made a temp page for Everest: A CLimb for Peace (sorry but I could not figure out how to make the table look right...). Can you please approve this and make my page active once again?
