Request for comment
[edit]@Avilich, T8612, and Zwerg Nase: Hello there, I've drafted a rewrite for the current namespace Senatus consultum ultimum. Compared to the current namespace version, I'll highlight a few things:
- Didn't engage in an anachronistic party-politics interpretation (poplares/democrats vs optimates/senators) of Roman politics.
- Cited far new literature (also mostly in English).
- Didn't heavily cite primary sources.
- Defined SCU before going on to discuss its history.
- Large portions of the old history section are un- or poorly sourced; added appropriate modern sources.
- Added a timeline.
- Shortened section titles.
Would like to request comments on it. I'm sure there are some flow issues or typos; I'll do a read-over some time in the coming weeks to take a closer look for them; reading something you just wrote has the problem of making it easy to read what you meant to write rather than what you actually wrote. - Sure, I am looking forward to see what you'll do with the article :) Zwerg Nase (talk) 12:03, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Do you have any recommendations or comments on this current draft? I've read it over once (I'll probably give it a read-over again) and, nem con, I would just copy-paste and replace. Ifly6 (talk) 13:43, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

Impact section literature?
[edit]Would appreciate reading recommendations especially as to the Impact section, which is intended to evaluate whether the SCU's impact on the republic's fall. It currently feels a bit sparse. Ifly6 (talk) 10:03, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
