[edit]@NebY, T8612, and Avilich: If you have feedback on this draft I would like to hear it too! 🙂 Ifly6 (talk) 05:43, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- You need to expand the duties section, most importantly the centuriate assembly was competent in foreign policy (declarations of war and peace). The reform of the mid-late 3rd century may have been carried by Fabius Maximus (cf. Cambridge Ancient History, vol. 7, p. 454). You also need to mention Sulla's reforms during his dictatorship (and possibly in 88). T8612 (talk) 15:11, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, it's most welcome. Ifly6 (talk) 21:06, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, re Sulla. I've added descriptions of his reform to the comitia centuriata in 88 but I can't find any references to a centuriate reform during his dictatorship (contra all the other reforms to the senate, courts, etc which I think are out-of-scope):
centuriata
in Keaveney Sulla (2nd edn 2005) only yields discussion of 88centuriata
in Seager "Sulla" in CAH2 (1994) only yields p 172 also on 88- Tatum "88 BCE" only talks of 88 BC
- I've also had some trouble finding anyone who talks of the repeal of his reform except in very broad terms. I'd speculate that Cinna probably interfected it immediately but because I can't say that, I've just said that it happened after that date. If you have anything to add on the matter, go ahead. - It doesn't seem we have access to this article from Athenaeum (Develin 1978), which is rather bothersome. Ifly6 (talk) 05:21, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
