Original research and production companies

I saw that you changed some content in the infobox at Muppets from Space. Per this consensus, production companies should be explicitly identified as such by reliable sources. This is to prevent original research in identifying which companies listed in the billing block are distributors, which are production companies, and which are contractually obligated to appear without being either. Variety is usually a very good source, but when their reviews simply reproduce the billing block, causing the same original research problem. One could pick companies from the billing block and argue that they belong (or don't belong) in any of the fields. When the companies are explicitly labeled, like AFI does, it is more useful than scanning the billing block and deciding which ones to include yourself. First, only the primary genre should be in the opening line per WP:FILMLEAD. Also, we should avoid long strings of individual links per WP:SEAOFBLUE. I undid your edits because you added All Movie as source, and it is unreliable. You can restore all you want, but you can't add All Movie as source. According to WP:FILMLEAD as well, sources aren't welcome at the top of the articles. Greetings. Tajotep (talk) 15:21, 3 September 2018 (UTC)

I don't know, but take a look on, for example, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (GA and it doesn't cite genres). Same as Jaws (FA and it doesn't cite genres).   • Sorry about that. The reason I swapped the source in the first place was because AFI listed DreamWorks Animation as a distributor, which was completely incorrect. Paramount Pictures was the sole distributor of the film (well, until 2014, that is), so I used a source for the Shrek the Third page that reflects this. Just wanted to clear that up. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. {{infobox film}} is pretty clear about this. If a source says that "X" is the production company, that's what Wikipedia says. If the source lists some other company as "in association with" or "presented by" or whatever else, that does not necessarily make the other company a production company.
