Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! — kashmīrī TALK 16:21, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Placenames

Information icon Please stop changing the names of places in articles to different spellings to those used as our article titles, as you did at Allahabad district. We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English for our articles, not the "official" names, so changing the spelling breaks wikilinks to those articles and is confusing to our readers - thank you - Arjayay (talk) 14:14, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Jahan Bagcha Teesta Rangeet

[edit]

Hello Iamritwikaryan,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Jahan Bagcha Teesta Rangeet for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Faizabad division, you may be blocked from editing. You were asked NOT to change the names of places in articles, above - Arjayay (talk) 15:30, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop hand

Please stop changing the names of places in articles to different spellings to those used as our article titles, as you did at Faizabad division. We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English for our articles, not the "official" names, so changing the spelling breaks wikilinks to those articles and is confusing to our readers - thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:23, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Allahabad, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.
You have repeatedly been warned about changing the names of places in articles, but continue to do so, even when there is a HUGE red box at the top of the edit page telling you not to - Arjayay (talk) 12:10, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Why have you just moved various articles from the Sheohar spelling to Shivavar, eg: Shivahar district? Are you aware of WP:COMMONNAME and, if so, do these moves comply? I see you have been warned about similar moves in the past, so pinging @Arjayay and Bishonen:. - Sitush (talk) 08:33, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary block from editing

[edit]

Hi, Iamritwikaryan. You have been asked a number of times on this page — your "talkpage" — to stop changing geographical names from the most commonly used names, and you have been told about the policy Wikipedia:COMMONNAME. Since you have never posted on this page or replied in any way, I think you may not be aware that the page exists. I have blocked you from editing in order to help you find the page. Please reply below, and indicate that you will abide by COMMONNAME, and I will be happy to unblock you. Best wishes, Bishonen | tålk 08:58, 17 July 2020 (UTC).[reply]

My Apologies

[edit]

Hi guys, I am sorry for the mistakes which I have committed. I am new to wikipedia and did not know about the rules, even about this page. I am replying you after watching the directional video, I did not know this also. My sole intention was to improve the quality of the pages, so that users won't face difficulties, and I didn't know the conditions. Whichever edits I had done were related my area and state, of which I have knowledge, since I'm a geography student. Now, I've read the rules and abide by them. Thank you.Iamritwikaryan (talk) 11:19, 2 August 2020 (UTC)iamritwikaryan[reply]

Hi, Iamritwikaryan, nice to hear from you. You are obliged to abide by WP:COMMONNAME specifically. Please make sure you read it. OK, you have been unblocked. Happy editing! Bishonen | tålk 12:21, 2 August 2020 (UTC).[reply]
  • (edit conflict) Hi Iamritwikaryan, Wikipedia is a collaborative project - thousands of volunteer editors are working together to create a huge online encyclopaedia. The project has its rules - in fact, plenty of them (some say that too many). You have been receiving notification to your email address about notices posted by other editors in this project. Yet you kept ignoring them.
Every editor is warmly welcome to contribute here. However, if you want to collaborate in the project, you must be able and willing to engage with other editors. Definitely, please don't start your Wikipedia editing with what clearly are controversial edits - like, renaming towns and cities. I can assure you that there is always a good reason why these towns and cities are named the way they are. If admins now agree to unblock your account, please take a good read at the key policies linked in the welcome message above, and don't hesitate to approach other, more established editors for advice. — kashmīrī TALK 12:52, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Emblem of Bihar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bihari. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Indic script

[edit]

Information icon - Please do not add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Hyderabad-Karnataka, as this contravenes WP:NOINDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 09:09, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But there are numerous articles where indic scripts are used, what is wrong with them? Iamritwikaryan (talk) 10:16, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please read and follow WP:NOINDICSCRIPT, which explaines the extermely limited places that Indic script can be used - Arjayay (talk) 10:24, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Hyderabad-Karnataka, you may be blocked from editing. You were asked not to add Indic script above, with a link to the guideline - Arjayay (talk) 10:24, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Dr.Pinsky (talk) 16:22, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
