- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Hello, I'm Bryanrutherford0. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wikipedia:Good articles/Geography and places have been undone because they did not appear constructive. Bryan Rutherford, thanks for the suggestion man. I'm sorry if that didn't appear constructive. I'll try to do more constructive and productive edits; and understand Wikipedia's rules better. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 07:46, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Suneye1. I noticed that you recently removed content from Vijay (actor) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. SUN EYE 1 17:21, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
Suneye1, I actually didn't remove any content I just updated some. And also updated the picture of the actor and mentioned about the Selfie which he took with his fans at Neyveli. I'll Update a new brighter picture. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 03:44, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Language bias
[edit]Re these edits:[1], [2]. Note that Samantha has starred more in Telugu (25) than Tamil (15), therefore pushing Tamil ahead is a display a bias. Kindly refrain from making such edits in future. Thanks -- Ab207 (talk) 07:17, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Ab207, This isn't language bias. Her first film and early film career was in Tamil. But, your point on more more number of films is fine. So I'll leave it that way. Thanks for the explanation. I am new to editing Wikipedia and will do constructive and productive edits. Peace. -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 07:46, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Iambatman2022! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Robert Downey Jr. that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 18:04, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Emir of Wikipedia, Oh sorry. I must have marked it as a minor edit by mistake. I won't repeat it again. Thanks for your clarification. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 05:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Please don't move articles per your whims
[edit]Do not move articles such as Delhi without a discussion. I have reverted your move as this was disruptive. —SpacemanSpiff 08:30, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
SpacemanSpiff It creates ambiguity with other articles and also the official name is Delhi NCT. So kindly undo your revert. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 08:55, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
- I am not going to do any change. you've been editing disruptively for a while, not taking any feedback. If this behavior continues then your editing privileges will be revoked. —SpacemanSpiff 09:01, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Not done: SpacemanSpiff Well your words are much offensive and not complying to the rules of WP:TPG. Be careful with the stuff you say. Also the official name of the Delhi is NCT of Delhi (union territory) according to the official sources in Government of India. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 09:18, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
Comment: It's a simple case - don't move high-visibility articles without seeking consensus. If you can't comply, you'll get yourself blocked faster than you think. — kashmīrī TALK 11:15, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
kashmīrī, Well I am fine with your argument. But I have cited the accurate info from official sources. Peace -- Iambatman2022 (talk) 05:46, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- Your "official sources" do not govern how we name articles on Wikipedia. Please study the naming rules we have here. — kashmīrī TALK 09:16, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Los Angeles. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. —SpacemanSpiff 08:29, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
Kokru News moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Kokru News, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Copying within Wikipedia
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Tamil cinema into Cinema of India. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 17:27, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
