Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited House of Castro, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Spanish, Lineage and Noble (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sorry I've had to revert you

[edit]

Hello, I'm really sorry to have to revert your edits, so restoring the redirect on the page for Cruz del Campo to Via Crucis to the Cruz del Campo. We can't have two virtually identical articles, especially where one of them has no citations at all. Now, I'm no expert, and it maybe that Cruz del Campo is the better name to use. In which case, please don't revert again, but do discuss your concerns/wishes for it on the Talk page for Via Crucis to the Cruz del Campo. Of course, you can also merge content into that article, irrespective of whether its name is changed, or not. I hope this makes sense, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 20:36, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not continue to revert this. If you would like to create a new article, please create in in Draft-space so it can be reviewed. And, as Nick Moyes says, it needs to have references, and it can't be a duplicate of an existing article. I suggest creating an article at Draft:Cruz del Campo, where you are free to work on it until it is ready for review. If you are trying to do something different, please explain here and I will respond. Bradv 03:57, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Bradv, may I just say in ILC's defense that, following an appeal from them on my Talk Page last night, explaining these were about two different but closely related topics, I did give them the authority to immediately revert my reversion. I had intended to then go back and immediately assess whether there was merit in retaining two separate articles. However I was caught up in events from an abusive editor, and have not had that chance. I do suspect that merging into one might be for the best. Can I leave to you both to resolve, or is extra input still needed? Happy New Year to both, Nick Moyes (talk) 10:06, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why sometimes broken English and other times not?

[edit]

Sometimes you are inserting broken English (e.g. [1] and "Are two different articles"[2] rather than "There are" or "There ought to be") but other times add considerable volumes of good English ([3]). Is there any particular reason for this? I am mostly asking because I want to make sure there are no copyright violations. —DIYeditor (talk) 06:08, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

sorry for the english, i translate from wikipedia in spanish or wikipedia in french (i know both languages) using google traductor then I change it as best I can (I also have a good level of English), and that is the result--ILoveCaracas (talk) 06:47, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

Why did you do this? If you look at most monasteries, the titles here are in English not in Spanish or any other language. Before you make these moves, I suggest you check first with users who contributed to the artcile. Maragm (talk) 06:53, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please notify other editors before making moves such as this one. Most of the articles on the title "duke" are named as such, for example Duke of York, Duke of Somerset, etc. It is not necessary to move something that is correct to begin with.Maragm (talk) 11:33, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why not include the image of the architecture of Rogelio Salmona?

[edit]

Why not include the image of the architecture of Rogelio Salmona?. His works are highly representative of Colombian architecture at the end of the twentieth century. There are many images of the architecture of Cartagena in other sections. Colombia is not only Cartagena. --JShark (talk) 03:32, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • According to the article there is already information about the military architecture of the cities of the colonial period.

Architecture during the period of conquest and colonization is mainly derived of adapting European styles to local conditions, and Spanish influence, especially Andalusian and Extremaduran, can be easily seen.[317] When Europeans founded cities two things were making simultaneously: the dimensioning of geometrical space (town square, street), and the location of a tangible point of orientation.[318] The construction of forts was common throughout the Caribbean and in some cities of the interior, because of the dangers that represented the English, French, and Dutch pirates and the hostile indigenous groups.[319] Churches, chapels, schools, and hospitals belonging to religious orders cause a great urban impact.[320] Baroque architecture is used in military buildings and public spaces.[321] Marcelino Arroyo, Francisco José de Caldas and Domingo de Petrés were great representatives of neo-classical architecture.

Redirects

[edit]

Why did you redirect this page? Do you plan to do this to other pages of towns in various Spanish provinces? It would be appreciated that before you move or redirect pages which you did not create to check first and get some consensus. The original name was perfectly ok and there was no need to move it. Maragm (talk) 08:33, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I live in Spain, so I'm familiar with the geography here. In the Spanish wiki, it's Borja (Zaragoza) and it should be the same here. I should hope that you, do not do as you say and start changing the title of other articles on Spanish cities and towns. Maragm (talk) 18:34, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I also see that you added a lot of text to the article on Aragon which is a translation from es.wiki, without indicating that it is a translation. For license purposes, you must indicate tha whenever you translate from another wiki project. Maragm (talk) 19:10, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sure, y yo me chupo el dedo. Maragm (talk) 19:48, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you read this page: Wikipedia:Requested moves. Maragm (talk) 04:55, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to contest this move. There were quite a few Cortes de León, as you can see in the Spanish wiki: in 1020, 1037, 1135, 1189, 1208, 1342, 1349 and, the one in 1188 which was particularly important. I repeat, before you make any move, propose it in the article's discussion page. Maragm (talk) 12:00, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just because I said that "I can live with that" referring to the move you made of Borja, Zaragoza to Borja, Province of Zaragoza, does not mean I agree. I still think it was better the way it was before. When you write a letter in Spain, for example, to someone who lives in Borja, you would just put, Borja, Zaragoza and it is understood that it refers to the province, not the city. You don't have to remind me that things are done here differently than in the Spanish wiki...I have been editing here for some time. I'm glad you decided that the move on the Cortes de León was not correct since there were quite a few and the one in 1188 was particularly important and it is the one considered by UNESCO to be the "oldest documentary manifestation of the European parliamentary system". Again, I urge you not to make moves without first checking with other users, especially in the discussion page of the respective article or in the page I mentioned before for requested moves. Niche edits

[edit]

Hi ILoveCaracas. Apologies for the belated reply to your question posed in your edit summary from 6 January 2018 ("Why you delete my edits? if there 3 images referents to Italy") in Niche. The reason that I edited the article was to correct three issues that had recently arisen: (1) An entire phrase was deleted and replaced with a non-existent English word "eithed" by user 67.80.190.218 in December 2017. I restored the text. (2) A duplicate "See also" section was introduced in May 2017 which I edited back into a single section. (3) The lead Uffizi image, which very clearly illustrates the subject was replaced with one that less clearly illustrates a niche (I'm thinking of Wikipedia policy MOS:PERTINENCE).

At that time, it seemed that the best course of action would be to return the article to a previous state. However, because your main concern appears to be the display of new images that you prefer, I have created a new gallery of images, which I hope that you will find to be satisfactory. Thank you, and I look forward to your comments.  —Waldhorn (talk) 17:39, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Colombia edit war

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Colombia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 23:50, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico edit: caption

[edit]

I appreciate your desire to contribute to pages, but as has been raised in other talk pages, you have a tendency to overadd; not only in images, but also in captions. Some are needlessly long and I'm going to ask that you stop revering my changes that are meant to clean them up. And yes, sometimes in cleaning them I remove what I consider to be in excess for a caption, (see: here). The longest caption in the United States article is 37 words and yours, for this particular edit, is 54 words long—the thumb box is almost doubled by your caption. Beside the point that I find the cloak sentence to make the caption needlessly long, it's also unnecessary for captioning the image as people can go to the Our Lady of Guadalupe article and read about the cloak at the bottom of the Marian apparitions section.

Institut Nova Història

[edit]

I have undone all your additions of Institut Nova Història in the articles where you added it un the "See also" section. Please do not add it again until consensus is reached. Maragm (talk) 06:59, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
