1850's
[edit]Hey there, it's me again. So, since I see you editing the 1850s Atlantic hurricane seasons, I was wondering what thoughts you had on what'll happen when 1858 and 1859 are eventually published. What should we do with 1850–59 Atlantic hurricane seasons? And specifically 1850? I'm curious if you had any thoughts. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:22, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, more like tidying up then editing, but hello again. Once the three remaining years have their own pages I would be happy to see the 1850's page deleted as, I think, that would be consistant with all the other decades. Obviously the 1850 page itself is going look very different to all the others but the only alternative I can think of is to attach it to the 1840-1849 page but that dosn't feel quite right either. By the by, I've prepared the 1850's infobox for the Atlantic hurricane page but having been holding back on positing it until the gaps are filled in. Best regards, 14GTR (talk) 14:38, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yea, that's the same problem I've seen (1850). I think it might work the best for being a part of the 1840s, but then none of the pre-1851 decade articles are in that good of shape. The best we have is List of Atlantic hurricanes before 1600, but that format wouldn't work well for the 1840s. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:47, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Juliancotton has produced a perfectly good draft of the 1859 season, see here, but has yet to post it as an article. When he does then, obviously the 1850-59 page can be deleted. Best regards 14GTR (talk) 07:36, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article Snow in Florida know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on October 28, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/October 28, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! Tbhotch.™ Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 23:29, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
It is rare for there to be snow in Florida. Snow rarely occurs because freezing temperatures in Florida are generally caused by the cold and dry winds of anticyclones. Frost is more common than snow, requiring temperatures of 45°F (7°C) or less at 2 metres (7 ft) above sea level, a cloudless sky, and a relative humidity of 65% or more. Generally, for snow to occur, the polar jet stream must move southward through Texas and into the Gulf of Mexico, with a stalled cold front across the southern portion of the state curving northeastward to combine freezing air into the frontal clouds. Much of the known information on snow in Florida prior to 1900 is from weather climatology provided by the Jacksonville National Weather Service; for this reason, information for other locations is sparse. The first white Christmas in Jacksonville's history resulted from a snowfall that occurred on December 23, 1989 (pictured).

Thanks for the welcome
[edit]thank you for the welcome message.
now, i already wrote a article. i started out with my blank ip though, the article is named Medicane. i finished most of it, linked it to other articles and wrote redirects to my article. i also tried to change the redirect of Mediterranean tropical cyclone, but some bot keeps on reverting it saying it's "vandalism". how is redirecting to a main article vandalism? i think it's more logical than redirecting to a article where the medicane is just a side note. i already filed a false positive report with the bot creator.
is there a way to keep the bot from reverting this redirect?
regards
Stormmeteo (talk) 21:08, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
ps: the article still needs an assessment, so if someone could have a look at it.
- I didn't know that there used to be a article for Mediterranean tropical cyclones, or that is was merged into Tropical cyclone basins, and the only new info in this article is the one about cyclones sometimes building in the Back Sea. Well, I could revert the article back into that simple redirect it used to be? Stormmeteo (talk) 15:51, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited October 2008 Central America floods, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page San Jose (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]Hi Hurricanehink, it's been a while since we've last talked. What's happening?
Do you remember McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II? Well, the article is at Featured article candidacy at the moment, and I'm wondering if you, as its GA reviewer, are willing to give it a look. The article has undergone a lot of changes since its last FAC in 2011. I'm trying to revive the stalled nomination, so if you can, please provide some input.
I hope you have a festive holiday season. Regards, :) --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 05:49, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Hink. I know its the holidays but I really would like to get this processed before the end of the year. Were you able to fix the issues User:Juliancolton brought up in the nomination? It would be good to get that taken care of to get a solid support. Or if you have that taken care of, can you let it be known? Sorry if I disturbed you during the holidays.
