Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Yunshui  08:59, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. —teb728 t c 09:03, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

stop This is your last warning. The next time you add copyrighted material to Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing without further notice. If you own the copyright to the material, please follow the instructions at Donating copyrighted material. Yunshui  09:30, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Dr. Huesan Tran"

[edit]

A page you created, Dr. Huesan Tran, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is recreation of content previously deleted following a deletion discussion.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 09:34, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one month for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Dr. Huesan Tran. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Dr Tran, I am sorry you have had a confusing introduction to Wikipedia, but in fact I do not think Wikipedia is the right place for what you are trying to do. You have had a number of messages on your user talk page, but when you moved your user page away to other titles, the talk page went with it. Let me try to explain.

Copyright: this is a very serious issue for Wikipedia. I have little doubt that you are the author of the autobiographical passage you have several times posted, though you have not actually tried to explain that; but even if you had, assertion of authorship, or of permission to reproduce, is not enough, for two reasons:

  • We cannot be sufficiently certain that someone on the end of a wire is who they say or has the authority they claim.
  • Release to Wikipedia involves more than just permission to reproduce: our CC-BY-SA license allows any reader to copy, modify, and re-use for any purpose including commercial, and it is essential that the actual copyright holder understands and agrees to that.

For details, see Wikipedia:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations. There are ways to make a copyright release, explained at WP:Donating copyrighted materials, but that is very seldom worth doing, because material written for other purposes is usually in a promotional style or otherwise unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view.

Autobiography and promotion: Wikipedia is not a site like LinkedIn or Facebook for people to write about themselves. As an encyclopedia, it is selective about subjects for articles, and it is not to be used for self-promotion or promotion of any kind. Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

User page: Each of the volunteers who is here to help build the encyclopedia has a user page, but that is intended for them to say something about themself and their Wikipedia activities, if they choose, to assist communication within the project. It is not for an autobiography, or promotion of non-Wikipedia activities, or for any substantial content... that is unrelated to Wikipedia, so the material you posted would not be acceptable even on your user page.
