A tag has been placed on Draft:Shaurya Doval requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shaurya Doval (2nd nomination). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi Curb Safe Charmer,
I am new to Wikipedia. Can you please let me know the reason for the speedy deletion request? I have tried to put up a new article based on discussions from a previous chat with other Wikipedia editors.
Please let me know. Thanks! Ht24 (talk) 14:28, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that the article had previously been deleted, and I was concerned that it might be very similar to the version that was most recently deleted. However I have since seen this discussion and that you were invited to write a brand new version of the biography. On that basis, I will thoroughly review the draft with an impartial mind. I have since removed the speedy deletion tag. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:06, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Curb Safe Charmer Thanks! Please do review the article and let me know if it meets Wikipedia's terms and conditions or if any changes would be needed. I am open to learning new things from your experience. Ht24 (talk) 16:41, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Curb Safe Charmer I have made a few minor edits to the draft that you were working on in relation to this person. My only intention was to contribute and make it as good as possible based on my understanding. Please don't mind it. Or let me know if I have to delete those changes. Thanks, man! Control copyright icon Hello Ht24! Your additions to Shaurya Doval have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:24, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear William, Can you please let me know why has this page been nominated for speedy deletion? I created this page upon discussing and obtaining advice from the moderators of Wikipedia. Please let me know if there is anything that I might have done wrong as I am not a Wikipedia expert. Please check this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Shaurya_Doval Thanks! Articles on this person have been deleted at AFD multiple times. 2 or 3, I am not sure. Consensus is they aren't notable....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:03, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shaurya Doval

[edit]

Hi, Ht24. On your user page you previously had your name and profession. I have no doubt that those details are correct. Given what you do for a living, please can you say whether Shaurya Doval is a client, or perhaps someone you know personally? If either is the case, you should declare it, rather than leave other editors to suspect that is the case. See WP:COI and WP:PAID. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 19:17, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No. I have no relation with Shaurya Doval, whatsoever. I have heard him at times on media, social media and in person on various platforms in Uttarakhand. I follow him on social media and like his ideas about the state of Uttarakhand. If being a follower is a relation, then, yes I am related to Shaurya Doval.
