Some friendly advice
If you do become an admin, I would suggest dropping the political affliation stuff from your userpage. Why? Because I think it could cause you issues when you get into a POV dispute. Notice I said when. :) Because it will happen. Usually it's by accident. A friend will ask you to help out or you'll make a seemingly innocent decision that makes some angry. I've been actively avoiding POV conflicts for 2 years and yet I've been involved in several. And I am sure that you are unbiased and neutral. But. POV pushers will see you as non-neutral just by opposing them for procedural reasons. Having your affiliation listed will give them more fuel. People who know me well on here know my affiliation. But most don't. And I think it's helped me keep people on both sides of the fence placated. Now if you feel like it won't matter one way or the other, that's certainly your choice. But I'm speaking from alot of experience here. POV disputes are major league headaches. From my experience, whatever you can do to minimize the pain is worth it. :) --WoohookittyWoohoo! 23:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the helpful advice, and I'll keep that in mind, although I don't see the RfA passing at this point, unfortunately. hmwithtalk 05:18, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Hero
I am a Libertarian Republican, as I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative, although I'm fairly centered on the political compass, reaching no more than 2 points in any direction. I also greatly relate to South Park Republicans, and I would jokingly consider myself one of those, as well.
Sir, you are my hero as of 06.02.07. Why can't I meet people like you in real life. HumanZoom 08:36, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! Haha, I am very jealous of your Wii, by the way. I want one so badly.
- P.S. I'm a female! Haha. hmwithtalk 14:33, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Q11
Those are reasonable answers. A side note' if you get the admin bit you'll find that in 99% of cases (your own excluded) the uploader does not mean "permission to license under the GFDL", but rather "permission to use on Wikipedia". Go ahead and delete; there's no point in doing the OTRS dance. In the rare case that they really did get GFDL permission, it's easy to undelete the image. But by and large it's a waste of time to assume that a permission email will be worthwhile. I hope I can say this without anyone accusing me of WP:ABF. =) But the fact is that only a tiny minority of users understand the licensing here; the sane assumption is that any given user does not. ··coelacan 18:31, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, while trying to assume good faith, I would have chosen to do to wait, but now, after your advice, I will probably do what you said to do, as you have the experience of being ad admin, and I'm simply predicting my future actions. From what I hear, no matter how long one's been here, it takes a little while to figure everything as an admin. Thanks for your advice, and I appreciate your questions. We'll see how this RfA turns out. In the mean time, Happy Wikying!
- On a side note, I enjoyed your picture and caption up top. hmwithtalk 15:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Brian Crecente
If you do a quick Google on "Brian Crecente" you'll see that there are approx 127,000 hits. Additionally he is the editor of a Top-40 blog (per Technorati). Below are a couple of links about Brian Crecente by other media sources that help show WP:N:

If you agree I would ask that you consider changing your recommendation. [Brian Crecente] Drew30319 23:07, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Your RfA...
Should be closing this evening - it looks like you might pass, but you aren't at the 75% threshold. It's a shame that so many people opposed you for pointless reasons. Personally I think you would make a very good admin; if you don't pass, I'll be happy to nominate you the next time round. Btw wish me a happy 18th birthday - despite which I'm at home editing Wikipedia, which probably tells you a lot about my social life. :-) WaltonAssistance! 16:47, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
WaltonAssistance! has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Happy editing!
Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
- Thanks so much for your support. I really hope it passes, obviously, but, if they believe I'm not ready, then, maybe, I'm not ready. I appreciate your willingness to nominate me the next time around, and I might take up that offer.
- Also...
Thanks for the birthday message! WaltonAssistance! 17:07, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Good Luck!
Wishing you luck tonight! Let's hope Wikipedia gets a great new admin! I'm here studying for exams, but I will definitely check in tonight and see how it does. --wpktsfs 20:14, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- It didn't pass, but I will see what the future holds. I'll just use this time to become a better editor. hmwithtalk 04:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Why thank you :-) ^demon[omg plz] 21:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Dear Hayley
Sweetie, a word regarding your RfA. Tho the 'crats haven't closed it yet as I write this, it must have ended by now, and chances is, it won't succeed this time. No matter what, I want you to know your hard and consistent work is much appreciated and valued. You are quickly becoming an expert user, and your involvement speaks volumes of your love for our project. Keep in mind that nearly everyone who opposed was also supportive of your many qualities, and have expressed their will to support you at a later moment. Furthermore, I've seen candidates with a similar time as editors fail spectacularly, yet yours was close to succeed; this is in no way a failure, dear Hayley. Please, keep it up. I'm positive that when you go for it again in a couple of months or so, you will have a landslide of supports. Please let me know if I can ever be of help to you, k? Love! :) Phaedriel - 00:06, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I forgot to add a thanks to you for borrowing the code. I promise that I had meant to, but it's there now. And I just saw the result of my RfA, and was, obviously, disappointed, but I thank you for your positive encouragement. I'll just use this time to keep working, and become a better editor, possibly being nominated for an RfA at a later time. hmwithtalk 04:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sweets, please, please, don't be sad, nor disappointed. In fact, it'd be an honor if you allow me to nominate you at some point in the future. Rest assured you'll make it - and with a tons of supports to boot, you'll see! :) Chear up on me, dear Hayley, you're great, girl! Phaedriel - 04:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Aw...
I was looking at the RfA page, saw you weren't listed, so I checked the history... didn't make it...
But... look at it like this, if you got over 70% support for that RfA, think what will happen next time. Whsitchy 03:35, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw the result. I am very disappointed, and I truly thank you for your positive encouragement. I'll just use this time to keep working, and become a better editor, possibly being nominated for an RfA at a later time. hmwithtalk 04:13, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
You will get there
Petit à petit l'oiseau fait son nid. --wpktsfs 04:19, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Can I ask what that means? Because I'm sure it's some uplifhting, inspiring comment, haha. hmwithtalk 04:25, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
"Little by little, the bird builds his nest." It's the French version of "Rome wasn't built in a day." Basically I'm saying, everyone likes you (with the exception of that i.p. address... idk what was going on there...) so keep up your fine work and you will become an admin. You build yourself with every edit you make. --wpktsfs 04:28, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the uplifting words. I needed them right now. I really like that quote. hmwithtalk 04:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Your RfA
Hi Hayley,
It's my sad duty to inform you that your RfA didn't reach consensus this time. You seem very well liked but almost all the opposers and quite a few neutrals cited your short time at Wikipedia. Many Wikipedians whose RfAs didn't pass the first (or second, or third) time have gone on to become successful admins later. Just do what you do best, keep your spirits up, build your Wikiresume and come back in a month or two. :) Cheers, Cecropia 04:20, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I just saw the result a few minutes ago. Although I am disappointed, I'll just see this a positive step to keep working my best here at Wikipedia, eventually becoming a better editor, gaining the community's trust. Thanks for the uplifting comments, as well. Happy Wikying, hmwithtalk 04:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the note. Sometimes this bureaucrat impartiality business really hurts, and this is one of those times. I have two daughters just about your age and the elder didn't get a summer job she had her heart set on and you can imagine how sad and crestfallen she was. But this RfA is just a speedbump for you and I expect I (or another 'crat if one beats me to it) will be congratulating you before very long. -- Cecropia 04:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
P.S. If I feel any sharp pains tonight I know it will be disappointed Wikipedians sticking pins in their Cecropia Dolls. -- Cecropia 04:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, no, I know that this is simply your job. There was no consensus reached. That's policy, and I know that it's nothing personal. Cheers! hmwithtalk 04:42, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- As one of your opposers, let me state that a graceful acceptance of an initial RFA's failure to grant the bit often helps in the future. Good luck. -- nae'blis 19:04, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I hope to make the best of this time, continuing to edit, and gaining the community's trust. Cheers! hmwithtalk 21:35, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Wait 3 months and try again... you'll likely breeze through if you keep editing as you have been..--Isotope23 20:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for you kind words. I'll use this time to become a better editor and gain trust from the community. Happy Wikying! hmwithtalk 21:35, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- -- Just wanted to drop by as well and say that even though I put "neutral" at your RfA, I feel you are a valuable contributor to the project, and hope you will continue to stay active, and keep contributing. Yours, Smee 09:03, 8 June 2007 (UTC).
- Aw, thank you so much, Smee. I appreciate your kind words, and it means a lot coming from someone with so many great contributions. hmwith 14:29, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Smile! :)
Come on... give us a smile, H girl :) Phaedriel - 04:35, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Aw, thank you so much! That means a lot. I really like that poem. Wikipedia life will go on... hmwithtalk 04:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
RFA
Hey I'm sorry that your RfA failed. I didn't have a problem with becoming an admin, but I guess there are unwritten rules us "Newbies" don't know about, mainly that no matter how good an editor is, he can't become an admin unless he spends 3 months here. I hope this doesn't discourage you from continuing to edit here at wikipedia. I will gladly support you again. BH (Talk) 17:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind words and support. They mean a lot. Cheers! hmwithtalk 21:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
No problem, I hope to see you around again. BH (Talk) 21:45, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am really sorry that your RfA narrowly failed to achieve consensus. Next time you will walk it. When you choose to apply, please let me know so that I can support again.--Anthony.bradbury 20:52, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks so much. I will make sure to do so next time... maybe in a few months or so. Thanks again, and Happy Wikying! hmwithtalk 21:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Possible Adoption
Hi there! You offered to adopt me a few weeks ago, and I was wondering if your offer still stands. Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, but I've been really busy with school and family events. Anyway, I'd like to be adopted if you don't mind. Thanks! --Ikthael 01:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- Of course it still stands. I would be honored to adopt you. hmwithtalk 14:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Your RFA
Hi, hmwith! I'm sorry about your RFA (even though I opposed). I'd just like to say again how valuable you are to Wikipedia and how I think you should apply again eventually. Here's my smile: Gutworth 02:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your kind words. Since opposes mostly consisted of lack of time here, I will simply keep editing at my best, hopefully reaching the status at a later date... when I know that I am ready. Thanks for contribution to the discussion, and happy Wikying. hmwithtalk 14:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi
Hi, sorry about your RfA. I was really hoping that you'd be through. And I am sorry about my flip-flops :-P. But I see that you have gained a lot of respect in the community and I am sure your next RfA will sail through without a hitch. Please drop me a note when you do decide to go up for RfA again (if you need an extra !vote to make it a WP:100 or something. :) Happy editing. - TwoOars 20:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I understand about your flip-flops. It's better to be sure than to make the wrong decision. I will drop you that note, and hope to gain full trust from the community someday. Cheers! hmwithtalk 04:43, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

I left a message on the talk page of the admin who deleted it. You might want to leave a message for him, too. The reason he gave for deleting it didn't even match the original debate. Wrad 18:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- I did. Thanks for the message.
- P.S. I like your "A picture of me." Haha. hmwith 16:00, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Sig
How's this? Dangerous Nerd ? For the sake of redundancy :), DangerousNerd talk contribs email 21:39, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, anything longer than 2.5-3 lines is usually considered too long. I do like it though... a lot. It's very nice and clean looking. However, the html length just makes it too difficult to see what is the text/sig in the edit version, especially for newcomers. hmwith 21:43, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
TfD nomination of Template:Guster-Project
Template:Guster-Project has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. — Shinhan 18:41, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Copyrighted Images
Are you following me now? :-) I'll take 'em off. No problem. Dangerousnerd 21:33, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, no, your page just automatically went on my watchlist when I sent you a message the first time, and I noticed the changes. hmwith(?) 21:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
BTW, would you mind if I took your new sig, made the outline orange and use that? Dangerousnerd 21:40, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to be selfish, but I made it myself! Haha, I mean, I'd prefer if you made your own. It's not like I can claim it or anything, but it's better to make your own. You can use an outline, I'm not the first person to do that, but use your own font and colors. =) Use your sig to express your individuality! hmwith(?) 21:44, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Hahahaha. Ok, sure. Just had to ask. :-) BTW, thanks for helping me out with my first month here! Dangerousnerd 21:46, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
My new sig (2 1/2 lines of code, under 255 characters): DangerousNerd talk 22:23, 13 June 2007 (UTC) :) Let me know if it's too similar.
- Perfect. I really like it. It's a clean-cut, sharp signature. Nice job! About helping you, no problem. If you're interested in adoption, I'd be more than happy to adopt you. hmwith(?) 13:45, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Whats up?
Just checking in to say hello and to see whats new. Hope your summer is going well, drop me a note when you have the chance. --wpktsfs (talk) 02:49, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, nothing really, just lifeguarding all day, everyday. About to go to work now, actually. Hope your summer's going well, too. What have you been up to? hmwith(?) 13:45, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
I may very well be interested in this. What exactly does it entail? DangerousNerd talk 16:49, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Basically, I would mentor you as you progress in editing Wikipedia. I could answer any questions that you have, give you helpful advice, or provide ideas with things to work on. Let me know! hmwith(?) 21:11, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
This sounds good! Let's do it. DangerousNerd talk 21:14, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Great. I'll add you as an adoptee of mine. Also, don't worry about sig problems. I've been working, trying to get my sig down to under 255 as well. I had to experiment with a few to get one to work. I finally realized if I want an outline, I have to use arial font. hmwith talk 21:23, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
OK, sounds great. Do I need to do anything on my end? BTW, your sig looks great. :) DangerousNerd talk 21:26, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, there are userboxes that you can put you on userpage, such as {{adoptee|hmwith}}, but you don't have to do anything really, besides let me know when you need me. I'll check in with you from time to time, as well, if I haven't heard from you for a while. hmwith talk 14:14, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey Hmwith. Just wanted to say thanks for adopting me! See you later! DangerousNerd talk 16:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Creating Articles
I was thinking about creating an article for Tim Mudd, a musician I like, but I don't want it to be db-band'ed. How do I determine how important a person is? What do you think? DangerousNerd talk 21:06, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- I only got about 908 article about him when I searched. It's borderline.
- You can check out WP:MUSIC for information regarding this, specifically Criteria for musicians and ensembles.
- Summarized, has he been the subject of published work or TV show, played on national radio stations, toured internationally, released 2+ albums on a major label, won any awards, or has he had a record go gold or charted a hit? If yes to any one of these, it should be able to stay, as long as it's mentioned in the article. No guarantees, as they're all decided on a case-by-case basis, but it would have my vote if it satisfied this criteria.
- Good luck, and if you need help formatting the article or anything else, let me know! hmwith talk 21:32, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm. Well, it appears that even his label doesn't have a article. I guess he's more obscure thank I thought. :P Thanks for your help! DangerousNerd talk 21:49, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, if he meets any of the other criteria, he should be okay. I'll take it as he doesn't? hmwith talk 22:12, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Nope. I'm kinda surprised, though. No national tours, no write ups in magazines. Nothin'! Ah well. DangerousNerd talk 22:25, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I hate that. Most of my favorite musicians don't even have major record deals either. hmwith talk 22:27, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Pictures
Where have your pictures gone from your userpage :-( Ryan Postlethwaite 22:28, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, there's still at user:hmwith/pictures, but I didn't think that anyone would notice or even care that they were now gone. There's actually still a link to them on my userpage in the Who do you resemble? section. hmwith talk 22:37, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
[The following was copied here from the user's talk page to have the whole conversation in one place for archiving purposes]:
Phew, that's my favourite wikipedia page! Ryan Postlethwaite 22:38, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hahaha, thanks! hmwith talk 22:55, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks for the barnstar!! If we were serious all the time, things would get boring. I guess it's all about community spirit, that's why we need a laugh every now and again. Ryan Postlethwaite 23:13, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hahaha, thanks! hmwith talk 22:55, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
re: Images
No worries :) Ryan's talk page is watchlisted, so I ain't stalking you! (Possibly him! Just kidding... ) Take care, Riana ⁂ 15:47, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- No worries. That's what I assumed. I'm simply happy that it got fixed quickly. You're quite on top of things. Cheers! hmwith talk 15:50, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Swimming, every single day... practice at 6:45, then laying out at the pool. --wpktsfs 16:49, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- For whom do you swim, out of curiosity? Is this a country club or GTAC/Tsumani? (I swam for Sylvania Country Club and GTAC). hmwith talk 17:05, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Haha, we are like-minded (if that answers your question). --wpktsfs 17:08, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's insane. No wonder I thought that you looked familiar from that picture, haha. Too weird. hmwith talk 17:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Here is the twist, haha, thats not me! Thats my friend (also a [gtac] swimmer), but I wanted to lighten up my userpage, so I added a picture of him laughing to brighten it up, but I can see where you would be mistaken, it is somewhat misleading... haha. Too funny, small small world. --wpktsfs 17:21, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Sorry I just thought that it was vandalism as a lot of text was removes.
Sorry For the Inconvinience
--The-G-Unit-Boss 21:18, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, it's okay. I also apologize if I seemed to get overly defensive. I'd never been accused of vandalism before. but it's completely understandable for you to think that at first glance. No worries. Cheers! hmwith talk 01:38, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
NERF Page
Why do you insist on reversing my edits to the NERF page? I am not "vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information" in any way shape or form. The page currently has numerous errors on it, and every time I try to correct them you change it back to the wrong information. If anyone is introducing incorrect information to the NERF page it is you, so please stop! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.253.102.8 (talk • contribs)
- I apologize for any information I added that was incorrect. I went by the sources I have. If you have sources for your edits, feel free to re-add them. There must be sources backing up every statement. If there aren't sources, it's original research, which isn't allowed on Wikipedia.
- As for your external link additions, please see WP:EL, which states that those types of links are not allowed.
- I hope that we can compromise on having sourced additions to the NERF page, and have it progress with more, reliable information as time goes on.
- Cheers, hmwith talk 15:56, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Review my Edits?
Hey Hmwith! I was wondering if you look over my contribs and tell me if there was anywhere I can improve - kinda like a one person editor review. What do you think? BTW, the picture on your userpage looks great! DangerousNerd talk 22:27, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- No problem! I see that you're reverting a lot of vandalism, which is good. Obviously, vandalism is a huge problem here. Keep up that great work!
- I also see that you are welcoming a great deal of new members. That's also positive. You might want to check out Wikipedia:Welcoming committee and join in here.
- Most of your edits seems to be wikifying, tedious changes no on else wants to make. That takes up a great deal of my edits as well.
- Your userpage is also developing as well. I find it interesting.
- Also, thank you so much for the picture comment.
- I hope that these comments helped. Cheers! hmwith talk 13:20, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me with that. Is there anything you think I can improve in? Thank you! DangerousNerd talk 22:35, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think you seem to be fine. I would try to make more major edits about things that you know, after researching them of course. A few more major, researched edits never hurts. =) hmwith talk 21:38, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

New wikiproject
I started the Anthroponymy WikiPrjoect. It's a long word but it basically means the study of human names. Since you started the given name template, I thought you might be interested in this. Remember 21:36, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- You are correct in that I would be extremely interested. In fact, I just joined. It's a great idea for a WikiProject. Let's get to work! hmwith talk 21:42, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, that was amazingly fast. :) Remember 21:43, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Email conversation excerpts

I understand about the link spam business though I disagree. If no one connected with a web site could ever link AND Wiki were consistent AND it were possible to really prevent such links, half the links on Wiki would go away. I was naive because I don't think there is anything wrong with what I did. I didn't cover my tracks. Dumb me. But I have made my arguments already and no one at Wiki cares. No one wants to discuss it. Wow, just like government.
I am very disappointed in Wiki. I had hoped for better from a voluntary organization. I was excited about Wiki when I first learned about it. But it seems to be just as cliquish and closed as any government group, just as rigid, just as much of a coverup and wink and a nod as any government agency. Naive me again.
Am I overreacting? Tell me why I am wrong.
- Hi, I appreciate your email.
- However, for one, I never said that you couldn't link your website because it was your's. If they're all personal webpages, then half of the links should go away. Spam is big problem on Wiki, and it's hard to detect and even harder to prevent.
- We're trying to discuss it, but the policy sort of speaks for itself, I believe.
- If you're greatly upset about this, as you seem to be, I'd take it to the arbitration committee (at WP:RFARB). Admins are generally held to higher standards, though not officially. If you want to report him, you can do so at WP:RFC/ADMIN.
- I am upset that you have these feelings about Wikipedia now. We all try to make it a better place, act in good faith, and makes the right decisions. However, no one's perfect, and you can always abject.
- Thanks for emailing me, and I hope that you come to love Wikipedia in t near future.
- Sincerely,
- hmwith talk 00:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your prompt, courteous and helpful email.
I'm a little unclear on what you mean [when you say “However, for one, I never said that you couldn't link your website because it was your's. If they're all personal webpages, then half of the links should go away. Spam is big problem on Wiki, and it's hard to detect and even harder to prevent.”]. The web site is not my personal web site, it is a fan site for Bruce Payne. I am the webmaster along with a colleague. Does this make it a "personal" web site? We did not link for our own aggrandizement; we thought we were providing information about Bruce Payne.
I have a question about this policy. According to the guidelines as I understand them, linking to a fan site is OK if there is a magazine interview. But apparently it's not OK if you do it yourself. But who else but the webmaster is going to know that web site has such interviews and cares enough to put the link up? A link was left up to interviews on another site and ours was taken down. To me this makes no sense and seems, quite frankly, discriminatory and, please forgive me, downright mean and dumb.
I offered several arguments why I thought fan sites were not automatically "spam" and did in fact offer helpful information that was relevant. Fan sites are more than just photos; many of them, including ours, provide bios, updates, interviews and other info that cannot be included on Wiki directly. And again, who but the webmaster is likely to put up links?
My initial request included reference to the accuracy of his statements about me as well as the issue of spam. Perhaps I should have made two different requests.
I am very upset.
I'd take it to [where you said].
Thank you for this helpful information.
Yes all this is upsetting to my colleague and me. Our fan site was approached by Wikipedia, as were other Bruce Payne fan sites, to contribute and help with information in creating the BP page on Wikipedia. Our fan site has made many contributions to this page as well as creating new pages,as I indicated above. It is upsetting to us when we were the ones that were approached to help Wiki with this project (this info is in the history), and yet we are now receiving this unfair treatment. BTW, as far as I can tell, we are the ONLY BP fan site to edit and add to this page. Yet, the link to our interview page was taken down and another one to a dead site was left up, AGWLBP. Do you see why we are bitter?
Your courteous and helpful reply does make me feel a little better about wiki. If there were more editors like you, I would feel better about wiki.
- Well, I hope that you can continue to contribute positive, useful information to the Bruce Payne article, as well as many others.
- Thanks for contacting me,
- hmwith talk 00:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Hayley :)
Should I Redirect?
I was recently inspired by His noodily appendage to look up Bobby Henderson. The article is very short, and the talk page says that it should be a redirect, as voted on during a VFD. Should I change it back to the redirect? The last edit was on the 7th. What do you think? DangerousNerd talk 23:48, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, be bold and do it. It should remain a redirect and shouldn't have been changed. By the way, I love you wording of "inspired by His noodily appendage", haha. hmwith talk 00:40, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice! I redirected and added the proper links to Flying Spaghetti Monster and Bobby Henderson (musician). DangerousNerd talk 00:49, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Good. You're getting quite the hang of this! Keep up the great work, hmwith talk 12:39, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and I forgot to tell you: You can use {{redir|Bobby Henderson}} to say the same thing, instead, for future reference. hmwith talk 15:31, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Your signature violates WP:SIG. Please shorten it, or come to my signature shop to get another one. Thank you. Θ Sean gorter Θ talk 14:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have read Wikipedia:Signatures and since Hmwith's Signature only takes up 3 lines by itself in the edit window, it is not a violation of Wikipedia:Signatures. Tcrow777 talk 00:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for the concern, but my sig only takes up two lines and is short enough to be allowed when I enter it in my preferences, so no worries. Cheers! hmwith talk 15:00, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Also, Tcrow777, thanks for sticking up for me, but it actually only takes up only 2! =) hmwith talk 15:00, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

- Yeah, it takes up 3 in mine... when I turn my resolution all the way down to 1024x768! :D Someone needs an upgrade. Wikidan829 12:54, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, so it's not just me. Thanks! hmwith talk 12:58, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Even that low (I didn't dare try 800x600), it wasn't quite 3 lines. The guideline says "more than two or three lines". I don't think it's an issue. Wikidan829 13:02, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, and now the new guideline in preferences makes one unable to go above 255 characters, so I think 255 is sort of the new limit. I mean, if it's over 255, one can't have it. If it is, it can pass... or so I feel. hmwith talk 13:05, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. The 255 should be considered the new limit. DangerousNerd talk 20:31, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
